The rear fascia of your 2015 Audi Q7 will need to be trimmed so that it can be reinstalled after the install of the Curt Hitch part # 13220.
There are many possible ways of making the cuts in the plastic appearance panel, including tin snips, a utility knife with a fresh blade or a Dremel tool. Your best bet would be to use whichever tool you feel most comfortable with. The cuts you make in the panel are meant to allow the hitch to pass through it.

Since you said that your hitch, drawbar, and 7-Way connector were all factory installed the best scenario would be if there was some wiring under the driver's side dash of your 2017 Audi Q7 that you simply splice the 4 wires of the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 to. If this is the case, you will simply splice the following colors to the correct functions:
White - Ground
Black - 12V Power
Red - COLD Side of Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake is pressed)

I spoke with our contact at Tekonsha and he informed that the technical bulletin you are referring to is still valid. To install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 into your 2012 Audi Q7, you will need to obtain a 12 volt normally open relay at a local Audi dealer.

Yes, all of the hitches we carry for your 2020 Audi Q7 require fascia trimming. The Curt, part # C13277 has the least amount of trimming. I've attached pictures that show how much trimming is needed for each hitch.

When installing the Draw Tite Hitch part # 75950 on your 2014 Audi Q7 the backup sensor does get unplugged, but it does not need to be re-calibrated or programmed to work properly. I have a solution for your 2020 Audi Q7 but you are going to have to do some cutting of a lower trim fascia. I recommend the etrailer 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e88KR. This hitch receiver is custom fit to your vehicle and requires no welding or drilling into your frame. The ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT comes with the inline fuse that you are referring to. Does your trailer have brakes? If it does, you'll need a brake controller to actuate them.
You'll first need a functional 4 pole which would be provided by installing part # 119250KIT. I've linked you to an install video showing how this is done.
If your trailer doesn't have brakes, the only other thing you'd need is the # 37185 adapter. Plug the adapter into the 4-pole, ground the white wire to the vehicle frame, and you'll be good to go.

When installing the Tekonsha Vehicle Wiring Kit # 119250KIT on your 2014 Audi Q7 the harness wires will clamp directly to the appropriate circuit wires on the vehicle without splicing into the wire. You won't be able to attach or connect to the plug itself that you referenced.

Having trouble with the auto-lift tailgate function on newer vehicles after a trailer hitch is installed isn't an uncommon occurrence. With the etrailer # e88KR installed on your 2019 Audi Q7 try kicking to the left and right of the receiver in a back-and-forth motion (like kicking a soccer ball) and this should activate the tailgate.
