First time using eTrailer.com What a great find! Madison P was awesome & so helpful. The Curt hitch fit my 2012 Kia Forte 5 just perfect and was very easy to install. Took about and hour. Thanks Madison.

Fits very well. I had to tap the threads in order to install the bolts in frame weld nuts.
Overall, fast shipping, cheap product, good quality. Would reccomend! 100%

Very fast delivery; haven't installed the hitch yet but its what was ordered and no doubt it will fit excellent.

This hitch receiver was as easy as could be to install. You just have to drop a couple of things a few inches and bolt it in. Then you raise everything back up and your done. One thing to keep in mind is that my Forte was brand new and the holes for the bolts were clean. If you have an older Forte you may want to clean them thoroughly first.

  • Troubleshooting Installation Of Trailer Hitch Receiver Into Weldnuts On 2013 Kia Forte Hatchback
To install your Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11124 which is a confirmed fit for your 2013 Kia Forte Hatchback, the bolts sometimes are hindered by debris in the frame welded nuts. The weldnuts most likely need cleaning, so I recommend using some spray lubricant like UltraLube Biobased Spray Lubricant and Penetrant - 12-oz Aerosol with Straw to loosen up any debris and then use a nylon brush like # 814113 to remove debris without damaging the threads. ...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendations for a 2011 Kia Forte
Curt trailer hitch # C11124 for the 2011 Kia Forte Hatchback has a capacity of 2,000 pounds but you will need to determine the towing capacity of the vehicle by checking in the owners manual. If the combined weight of the trailer and trike when loaded and ready to tow exceeds 2,000 pounds or the capacity of the vehicle, whichever is lower, you will not be able to tow the bike and trailer with this vehicle. If you determine that you can, you will also need a properly sized ball (the hitch...

  • Hitch And Bike Carrier Recommendation For 2011 Kia Forte5
The hitch you asked about, part # C11124 is a Class l hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening, so you will want to keep that in mind when selecting accessories that will work with the hitch. A note from Curt states that all non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing straps, like part # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from Curt. A lightweight bike rack I recommend is the Kuat Beta, part...

  • What is the Difference Between Class I and Class II Trailer Hitches
Class I and Class II trailer hitches both have a 1-1/4 inch receiver. That is where the similarities end though. Class I hitches are rated for less weight, typically maxing out at 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight. Class II hitches on the other hand can be rated as high as 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Most Class I hitches also have a stop punched into the receiver tube, see picture, that prevents the use of Class II accessories....

  • Tips for Inserting Pin of Trailer Hitch Pin and Clip
To get the clip of the included pin and clip of the Curt Hitch part # C11124 you will need to basically just need to try various angles of the pin while trying to insert the clip so that you can eventually find the right angle/orientation of the clip so that it will insert all the way into the pin. You may even try running it up from underneath the safety chain loop if there is access there. You should also note that you don't have to fully insert the pin. You just need to get it to the...

The Curt, # C11434, is designed for the sedan model only. Thanks for reaching out, Candice! The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11434 is for a 2012 Kia Forte Sedan, but for your Hatchback you'll need to use the part # C11124 instead. If you let me know what you plan on using the hitch for I'd be happy to make additional recommendations if needed!

  • Is There A Way To Know If 1-1/4" Receiver Is A Class 1 or Class 2?
The only way to know 100% for sure that your trailer hitch receiver is a Class 2 is to find the model number of the hitch and look it up. Your receiver being a 1-1/4" means it's either a class 1 or class 2, but between the two the main differences are the ratings of the hitch when it comes to trailer weight and tongue weight capacity. If you can tell me the year/make/model of your vehicle I can look it up as well to see if there were options for a class 1 or class 2 to try and help narrow...

  • Does a Curt Trailer hitch Come with a Ball Mount
The Curt Class I trailer hitch # C11124 does not come with the appropriate ball mount. The correct ball mount for this hitch is # C45520. I checked your order and it looks like you did order it so you chose the correct one. Then use # F-4 for a pin and clip and for a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 or for a 2 inch use # 19258.
