2009 Honda Accord

Initially, I was impressed, when I installed the right side. And then when went to go do the left. I noticed that one of the washer didn’t have a hole. It had an out line of it. Since everything was out and halfway installed. I had to drill and modify it. Instead of notifying it. (Took me 2 hours extra with my minimal tools I had.

We have gotten this information out to the manufacturer to inform them about this batch of hitches to make sure no one else has this problem in the future.

Installed on a 2012 Acura TSX Sport wagon took me about 1.5 hours to finish. Looks great! I'm mostly using for my Yakima bike rack with little to no towing, I have a MDX for that.

Do you have some detail images and did you need to cut the spoiler cover?

Rich

8/22/2014

The only thing that I had to cut was the heat shields. Other then that pretty straight forward. I cant attach any more photos to this reply, sorry

I was glad to hear the technician say no concern with rust before he installed the hitch.

Looks good

The package is missing many pieces. The ball mount, ball, pin and electrical wires are missing. Please send the additional missing pieces.

Great product!! Bought this for a bike rack and it works great. My friend is a mechanic and installed it with me (he has all the tools). Took us less than 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend.

by:
2011 Acura TSX

I dialed up the necessary hitch, paid for it and it was here a day and a half later. It showed up about two in the afternoon. I dropped it off and the mechanic had it on and ready to go by 5 o’clock. Fit perfectly. The hitch is bomb proof.

by:

George - I love it - or I should say it like this - I was able to install it just as outlined in the directions with no problem at all - I have been using it and love having it. Quality of the product was top-notch and I am super satisfied with it. I also ordered the wiring harness for the Honda Accord as well and again they both installed perfectly. Great products from you - you should be proud of all of the products you sell if they are all like this one. Also, I thought it worth mentioning here, I also bought a 3/4 Ton HF folding trailer along with a ball and hitch riser. Attached Photo doesn't really show the hitch but because of the hitch I have this beautiful trailer to use. So a long story short - I love the CURT Trailer Hitch for my 2012 Honda Accord, it turned my Honda into a 3/4 Ton pick up when needed!

Thanks again and please call or email if you would like more information or to hear more about my satisfaction with your product.

2009 Honda Accord

I installed this myself on the back of my 2009 Honda Accord Coupe. I would say this it is somewhat difficult to install, due to having to slightly widen holes to fit the bolt holds through. Though, despite the slight difficulty, it only took me about 45-60 min to complete.

I used this to tow a 5x8 trailer loaded to its full capacity 1800 miles from Indiana to Florida and it has definitely met my expectations. It remained completely rigid throughout the journey despite having been put under a lot of stress, between steep hilly highways and pothole torn streets.

I also purchased a 2” Rise:
And the corresponding wiring harness:
Though I would instead recommend a 2-½” - 3” rise, especially if you have a heavily loaded trailer as I did, as the 2” rise was a little low.

I would recommend this to anybody looking to tow anything with their Honda Accord due to its rigid construction and sleek design.

i haven't used the hitch yet but e trailer had my hitch shipped within 2 hours of my order on a sunday, and it was delivered with free shipping within 48hours of placing the order, thoroughly impressed with the way they handled the order!

2010 Honda Accord

The parts came very quickly and I installed that day after work. I have a V-6 so the muffler has four hanger in the rear that needed dropped. The installation was very easy and took about two hour with wiring harness and all. I was given two leads to pull bolts thru. I used one end to go from the small hole to the accesses hole and then pulled the other end back. That was much easier to do than trying to find the wire in the small hole. All in all it was very straightforward. I did the installation in my garage on the floor no problems. Picture attached.

by:
2011 Honda Accord

Great directions. Easy install. Looks great on back of vehicle. Using hitch to pull small utility trailer for my jet skis. Wiring harness was even easier to hookup.

by:
2010 Honda Accord

Just mounted it, but haven't towed anything yet. I don't understand why the hardware is just a hair wider than the factory hole on my Accord, I have to use a filer to remove a little bit of material from the frame to put it on. Other than that, this product is great. Feel solid and easy to install.

by:

Love this hitch! Took me about 45 mins to install. The installation was straightforward and probably took me more time prepping than installing. Get an extra set of hands for a little help, easily doable alone as well.

by:
2008 Honda Accord

Nice hitch. I installed it myself using after watching the video tutorial 3 times. I am moderately mechanical and can do most of my car maintenance and car repairs. So this was not too bad. The only sketchy think was fishing the spacer and bolt through the frame. I added som tape to the wired/coiled bolt puller to insure the bolt did not come off inside the frame. So far it works great with my bike holder!

by:
2012 Honda Accord

Excellent hitch and instructions. Fairly easy to install on my 2012 Honda Accord. Selected this hitch because it keeps the factory plastic trunk cover while the Draw-tite hitch discards this cover. Instructions were perfect, including dimensions for cut outs in the plastic trunk cover and aluminum heat shield. Found a good method for installing the hitch and plastic cover alone. Used a 1" wide canoe tie-down strap threaded through the car towing hook and corresponding slots in the hitch. Lifted both parts and tightened the strap, holding the hitch and cover in the raised position. Next installed the left and right bolts, easy with the weight carried by the strap. Finally removed the strap and installed the U bolt.

by:
2012 Ford Edge

Purchased this hitch (Curt C11085) for my 2012 Honda Accord LX sedan 4 cylinder. Selected this over the competing Draw-Tite 24899/ Hidden Hitch 60325 (which are identical hitches made by Cequent), so I would be able to reinstall the black plastic underbody panel after the hitch was installed. (The installers in the video for the Draw-Tite/Hidden Hitch were not able to reinstall the underbody panel, since the hitch blocked the fastener holes for the panel. So the installers simply left the panel off, which I did not want to do).

After removing the muffler heat shield and the black plastic underbody panel, I installed the hitch, which fit perfectly. Then I trimmed and reinstalled the muffler heat shield. After that, I cut the rectangular hole in the underbody panel as per directions, but also made a single cut (with a Sawzall) straight back from the rectangular hole to the back edge of the panel. That permitted me to be able to easily reinstall the underbody panel AFTER the hitch was installed. (Since I was working alone, I figured it would be too cumbersome to try to install the underbody panel AND the hitch at the same time, as the installer did in the video for the 2011 Honda Accord.)

All in all, everything went smoothly and fit perfectly. Visually, it looks fine to me. And the hitch works great.

by:

Installation was quick and easy by my mechanic. We used the hitch to take 4 bikes from Monmouth county, NJ to Cape Cod with no problem at all.

Love it, mostly easy to install besides having to pull off the scrape guard and cut a hole in it to fit the hitch through on my 2012 Accord. Good build quality

2012 Honda Accord

I am an avid online shopper. Etrailer.com is the best online store I have ever dealt with. Here is why. Deciding to pit a hitch on my vehicle, I went on YouTube to see how it would be doing it myself. Etrailer had a video for just about every vehicle out there. I searched for mine and found a step by step detailed video of a tech actually installing the hitch, wiring harness and showing me how to do everything! So I went to their site and priced it all. After searching around their price couldn't be beat. When I ordered online, I received a phone call and an email from a rep within 15 minutes. He noticed a part I ordered would fit my hitch(was for my wife's car) and after speaking to him and confirming it was what I wanted put my order through and was on my doorstep in 3 days! That just showed me how they truly care about the customer by monitoring every order they receive. Trust me you can't go wrong with etrailer.com!

by:
Honda Accord

I have owned this trailer hitch for a year and have had no problems with it. It serves my 2011Honda Accord very well. I use it to attach a bike rack with 2 bikes.

by:
2012 Acura TSX

I took this to a mechanic to have it installed on my 2012 Acura TSX sport wagon.

After he got the exhaust system dropped, he fastened the bolts on the bracket first and showed me that the center wouldn't fit. I called etrailer, upset that the darn thing didn't fit, and got to talk to a live human being (nice!)

While she was telling me what the possible problem and fix might be, (drilling out the holes a bit) my mechanic took the bolts out and tried attaching the center portion first.

Success!

So it cost me around 50 bucks to have this done, which meant that I didn't have to worry about the car dropping on my husband or son's head and squishing them. Money well spent, imho.

by:
2010 Honda Accord

While I haven't used it for towing yet, I did hook up a bike rack. The bike rack worked great and as expected thanks to the hitch. I followed the instructions and a youtube video, and the installation went smoothly. I think it took me a little longer than the instructions had indicated, but that's probably because I'm not familiar with this kind of work and was taking my time.

The hitch receiver arrived quickly and was very well packed. I'd definitely recommend this Curt hitch and eTrailer.com.

by:

This was the third hitch I have purchased from your company, and I have been very pleased each time. The main reason why I gave four stars instead of five is that two of the hitches I purchased arrived with torn boxes and the hitch sliding around in the box.
So:
Product- great
Price- great
shipping time: great
packaging for shipping: poor

I'll probably be buying another hitch from you soon as I will be buying another car.

by:
2008 Honda Accord

Easy online purchase and mounting to my car. My dad actually took care of this and has done a half dozen or so purchases and installs of trailer hitches over the years with his cars and his friends vehicles. Never a bad experience!

  • Availability of Trailer Hitch for 2009 Honda Accord to Allow Use of 2-inch Hitch Bike Rack
The size and class of hitch available for your 2009 Honda Accord is a 1-1/4-inch Class I hitch such as Curt # C11085 or # C11496. No 2-inch hitches are made for your car because its frame is not strong enough for the weight ratings of a 2-inch Class III hitch. In order to safely tow with your 2009 Honda Accord, there are a number of parts you will need. The Curt hitch # C11085 is a class I hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 200 lbs. However, according to the owner's manual, your maximum towing capacity is 1,000 lbs, which is the number you will need to abide by. • What Prevents Kuat Transfer Bike Rack From Moving Around in Trailer Hitch
Your current Kuat Transfer has anti-rattle device built into it that maybe you aren't fully utilizing. When you install the hitch pin of the rack how tight are you getting the bolt that holds it to the hitch? It's designed to be tightened so much that it removes movement when travelling. Support straps and a different hitch won't solve this issue. The Kuat NV base part # BA22B does have tighter clearances and also has a different anti-rattle device so it will be quieter though.
