Hey everybody, how's it going Clayton here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out the line of the Draw Tite drop ball mounts for our two and a half inch hitch receivers. Now, there are a couple of variations with this ball mount. Today, we are gonna be looking at the three inch drop and if you turn it over, it's gonna have an inch and a half rise, but you can also find a five inch drop, when you turn that one over you're gonna get a three and a half inch rise. So, you just want to purchase whichever one is gonna get your trailer the most level. And as far as our weight capacities are concerned, our ball mount is gonna be rated for 18,000 pounds of towing and 2,000 pounds of tongue weight rating.
Now, you do want to keep in mind the ball mount is not gonna come with an actual ball but you can find those here at Etrailer. Our ball is gonna be rated for 30,000 pounds, however, that ball mount is only rated for 18,000 so we don't want to exceed 18,000 pounds in this case. Now, you do want to keep in mind, you need to check with your owner's manual of your truck and make sure that your truck is capable of towing at these capacities and if there is a difference, you always wanna go with the lowest number between the two. Our ball mount is gonna be a nice steel construction so it's gonna be really strong for a long time and it's also going to have this nice black powder coat finish to help resist rust and corrosion as well. Now, one thing I do want to mention with this ball mount is it is gonna have these channels, you might be wondering what those are for.
That's just gonna add some extra strength versus it just being an open ball mount like the majority of the ones out on the market. Now, if we take a look at the hitch pin, this is just gonna take a standard five eight pin, in this case, we're using a locking pin. That's always good cause it's gonna help protect our investment. You can either find a locking pin or a regular pin here at Etrailer. This ball mount is gonna be really good for you guys that are pulling the same trailer or a very similar trailer all the time.
But, if you are switching up trailers, maybe you're using your truck for work, I suggest picking up an adjustable ball mount. We have plenty of options available here at Etrailer. All in all, this is a really nice ball mount, it has a really good weight capacity for a standard pull so that's gonna be really nice and I just liked the way it's constructed. It feels really solid, with that being said that's gonna do it for our look at the Draw Tite line of a drop ball mounts..

It is MUCH beefier then the 14K one I picked up locally.
I have a truck with a class 5 hitch. Using the 2" to 2 1/2" adapter had a lot of play in it and this ball mount removed that play. The truck and me won't bounce around so much. Thanks for the great deal and fast shipping. Will be shopping with you again. Thanks again.
Over the last couple of years, I have purchased different parts for my towing needs from etrailer.com. The parts have ranged from hitch adapters to trailer tires. I highly recommend that you at least consider etrailer.com for anything that you may need when you are towing or RV'ing.
Purchased for a Ram 2500 so that I did not need to use an adapter for the hitch from my F150 and all I can say is what a difference. This hitch fits perfect and doesn't slide around and create a bunch of noise and movement when starting or stopping.
Very beefy. It was going to get a receiver that had a sliding cushion, but I felt this was going to be more durable. I think it will serve me well. I was a bit disappointed that it can't be used with anti-rattle devices that Etrailer sells. I think it is a tradeoff to get a beefier receiver. I like my choice.
I now have three of these for my 2011 Ford F350 with different sized balls for different trailers. They fit easily into the receiver on the Ford.
Supper heavy duty, very rugged, great fit in the receiver, no issues. Fit's my class V receiver very well.

Obviously made for heavy towing, solid and sure fit in the receiver. Etrailer was great with communication of order, shipping with expected deliver and after delivery.

Impressive "hunk" of metal. Very close tolerance manufacture.
No shims or collars required.

Patrick the ball hitch is performing very well!
Looks great and well built. Shipping was fast and in time for towing large trailer hunting.
Product was just as stated. Sturdy ball mount with a lot of weight bearing capacity.
Great heavy duty ball mount!
Excellent choice of product, exceptional response, communication, and shipping, arrived early even during holidays. Price was right compared to local stores that did not even stock the one I wanted.
Built like a brick outhouse, this mount is tough. Casting finish is a little rough but doesn't affect the mount.
Staff was able to offer the item I wanted. Good knowledge, quick service, reasonable price.
