This adjustable ball mount has a maximum capacity of 36,000 lbs, making it ideal for heavy-duty towing. Heavy-Duty Construction
Because of its sturdy steel construction, this BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount can handle loads up to 36,000 lbs, making it perfect for heavy-duty towing jobs.
The adjustable channel is made of 5/16" thick, laser-cut steel plates. These steel plates can handle high capacities without bending. And because of the laser cutting, the channel plates have consistently sized pin holes, so you can easily remove or reposition the hitch ball platform.
A 1/2" thick steel gusset is welded between the shank and the channel, bracing the mount and keeping the channel from bending, even at the maximum drop or rise.
The solid steel shank is CNC -chamfered, making it easy to slide the shank into and out of your hitch receiver. And with no sharp edges on the shank, the powder coating is less likely to chip and peel.
Each adjustable mount includes a 2-ball platform, which fits in the adjustable channel. The 2 hitch balls are welded onto the solid steel platform for maximum strength and stability.
Finally, the pins and clips included with the ball mount are made of heat-treated steel to withstand the heavy weight from your load. The nickel undercoat with zinc topcoat provides corrosion resistance and ensures the strength of the pin.
Setting Up the BulletProof Ball Mount
To set up this BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount, insert the 3" x 3" shank into your hitch's receiver. Slide the 2-ball platform into the adjustable channel, then use the included pins and clips to secure the platform at the height you need. If you need to switch hitch balls, just remove the pins and clips, flip the ball platform over, and reinsert the pins and clips to secure the balls in place. It's that easy.
Because of this mount's significant drop, it's recommended that you install a stabilizer kit (358stabilizerbars - sold separately) to prevent any wobbling and to remove strain from your hitch receiver.
BulletProof Ball Mount Accessories
This BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount is compatible with a wide variety of accessories (sold separately). Instead of using the included ball to tow, you can install a weight distribution shank (358WEIGHTDIST) in the channel of the mount to attach your weight distribution system. Add a clevis (358CLEVIS) or shackle attachment (358EDSA) for off-road or recovery operations. Or simply add a hitch step (358STEP) to easily access your truck bed.

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we take a look at the Bulletproof Hitches extreme duty adjustable two ball mount for a three inch hitch. Has a drop and a rise, and a 36,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this two ball mount will slide into your three inch hitch receiver, and will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The two hitch balls up front here will provide the connection points for your trailer coupler. And if you notice the balls are different sizes.
This one is a 2 and 5/16 diameter ball, and the one on the other side is a two inch diameter ball. So this will let you tow trailers with different coupler sizes. And to switch the ball around it's pretty easy to do. You just simply remove the two pins and clips here, flip the ball platform to the size ball you need, and reinsert the pins in the clips. Just to show you, pull out our clips, slide out our pins.
And the thing I do wanna mention is the pins they use, they do you two of 'em, they're 5/8 inch diameter. corrosion resistant hardened steel pins, features a nickel undercoat with a zinc plating top coat, gives you the best corrosion resistance. So we'll go ahead and take out the other one. And once you get both of 'em out, you can remove the ball mount. And basically to get the smaller ball, just flip it over.
And, again, you can put it whatever height you need for application. I'm just gonna put it back in where we had it. Line the hole up, put the pin through, pin through up at the top. Once you get the pins through, take your clips, go ahead and clip the pin, clip the second one. Whoops.
There we go. And once we got 'em both clipped, now you're ready to go to tow with the two inch balls. So it's pretty quick and simple to switch to whatever ball size you need. Now, this one here is an extreme duty ball mount. And the reason it's extreme duty, compared to the heavy duty, this one uses much more steel horizontally right here behind the channel, and that's to be able to get the higher weight capacity of the extreme duty ball mount. The adjustable design on this will provide a nice drop or rise, allows you to tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle. So this would work well for contractors where they can install this on one truck and then use that one truck for different size trailers. Now, this is in the drop position. When this is installed, this is dropped down. If you put the ball out platform in the lowest position, the max drop on this would be about 11 1/4 inches. If you flip this over in your hitch into the rise position and then put the ball platform in the highest position in the channel, it will get you a maximum rise about 10 1/4 inches. This does offer six levels of adjustment. The distance between the adjustment hole center to center is two inches, so basically to move this platform lower or raise it higher to match your application. It is heavy duty steel construction that is precision CNC milled and drilled. And because of that, it'll give you less rattle because of the close tolerances. The channel itself uses a 5/16 thick channel frame. It's very strong and durable. If you notice right down here, they use a half inch thick well with gusset plate and this will brace the shanking in the channel. And then the hitch balls are welded to the ball platform for extra sturdiness. So because of the solid shank, that gusset plate, the solid doable platform, along with the extra steel we mentioned behind the channel here this is built for extreme duty towing. That steel gusset it welded between the shank and the channel, braces them out, keeps the channel from bending even at maximum proper rise. Total weight on this is 99 pounds, so it is pretty heavy. I do wanna mention this gusset might come into play with clearance, and I want to give you the measurement from the gusset to the first hitch pinhole, it's gonna be 3 1/2 inches, from the gusset to the second hitch pinhole center is five inches. Now this ball mount does have many different dimensions to it. So what I do recommend for you to do is go to the product page of this part number and it'll list all the dimensions and then you can verify any dimension that you may need for your application. This part is made in the USA, with USA steel. This product is used by the US military, so it will give you peace of mind that the product uses quality materials. Now, this hitch does come powder coated with a nice textured heavy duty black finish, and that heavy duty finish keeps your ball mount looking like new instead of all worn and rusty after a short time towing. Right here you can see the two hitch pinholes, a hitch pin and clip, or a hitch lock, is needed for securing it to your hitch receiver. Those items are not included, you would have to supply those or we do sell those separately on our website. And the application, again, is for three inch by three inch trailer hitch receivers. This would be ideal for vehicles with a 25 inch to 27 inch clearance from the ground to the bottom of your receiver tube. Gross towing weight capacity on this will depend on the ball size you use. If you use the smaller two inch diameter ball, it'll be 12,000 pounds. If you use the larger 2 and 5/16 ball, 36,000 pounds. Tongue weight capacity will be 6,000 pounds. And the last thing I want to mention to you is there is a variety of channel mount attachments that are available for this ball mount and it's to allow you to use this ball mount as a pentile hitch, a shackle hitch, a hitch step, and other ones. I need a solution for my BMW SUV to tow my boat and trailer with two ball sizes and very different height requirements. This worked perfectly. The name Bulletproof fits well - I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and engineering.

I bought this hitch just under one year. To date, the hitch has performed fine. HOWEVER, the cheap powder coating has turned the entire hitch into a an eyesore. Its just rusting like mad, and the powder coat is now flaking in large chunks. Looks like crap on the back of the truck. I don't even live in an area where salt accumulates or they use it on the roadway.

Sent me the wrong hitch. Ordered the 6” drop, received the 4” drop. Hitch itself is ok, powder coating wore off ball and where it goes into receiver on first use.

Extremely noisy. Powder coat peeled almost immediately and the tolerances on the pins makes this rattle horribly. I finally got so sick of the noise I cut foam to put between the ball mount and receiver. This hitch has not seen much use and only for light duty (under 10k lbs). I won't buy another one. All of the other hitches we have are Andersen Rapid Hitch. I tried this after all the claims by BulletProof on how great they are. Very disappointed

I own several adjustable 2-1/2" hitches and like this one a lot. It isn't terribly heavy for being steel and is very easy to adjust. I like the pins versus the key-operated mechanism on my aluminum adjustable hitch. Works great with my Chevy 2500 and various trailers and boats from 5000 to 14000 lbs.

So far I am extremely happy with this hitch. It is very heavy duty. My towing capacity has changed and needed to upgrade to a heavy duty hitch. I have no doubts this is going to be Bulletproof!! It is very well built and a solid shank.

I purchased the 2-1/2" Bulletproof Adj Ball Mount for my 2019 RAM 2500 (Laramie, 4WD, 20" Rims&Tires, Off-Road Suspension) to have 1 mount for various trailers. This replaces various 2" mounts used on my 01 Silverado 2500. This is one serious, substantial piece of equipment! Heavy, good welds, nice powder coating! Pix compares this mount with a 7500# 2" Draw-tite mount. Nothing wrong with the Draw-tite, but no comparison in mass.
Some measurements, if interested: Truck: inside top of Receiver: 25" above grade. Bottom of mount without balls: 9-3/4" above grade (clearance). With 2-5/16" ball up: At lowest point: Top of Ball: 17" above grade. bottom of 2" ball: 9-1/4" above grade (clearance). At highest point: Top of Ball: 26-7/8" above grade. With 2" Ball up: At lowest point: Top of Ball: 16-1/2" above grade; bottom of 2-5/16" ball: 8-3/4" above grade (clearance). At highest point: Top of Ball: 26-1/2" above grade.

1 minor complaint: no pin included for securing mount into receiver.

The hitch looks very well made. I recently made some changes to my 02 F250 and needed a drop hitch.I mostly pull a #10000 GTW equipment trailer but occasionally pull a #14000 GTW dump trailer and a utility trailer with a 2" ball. This hitch fits my needs perfectly.

This hitch ball mount is a beast for sure. It has a nice appearance and a lot of weight. i do not see it letting me down at anytime. i also think that spacers could be provided to eliminate excess play. The web site is greatand was very helpfull. However, once ordered i thought the etrailer logistics, in house tracking process was a little misleading, if i see it is packaged not sure why it did not ship until 2 days later. of course, i am not on the ground not seeing everything going on might change my mind about the last comment. Thanks

This is quite a robust hitch. I received it in record time and it's already mounted to our motorhome First trip starts this coming weekend so we shall see but I believe this hitch is exactly what we need to tow a 24 ft. flatbed trailer with our Ford Expedition.
