The weather was so good at Bowker Lake in Québec, Canada that we took the opportunity to take a little trip in the woods and put to the test the new Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler for 2 "Ball - 2" Channel - 3,500 lbs on my Pulka with a Honda Rancher.

by:

Works good. Only thing is the cable that secures the pin to the coupler broke after a few uses.

by:

Easier to use than traditional couplings for light duty towing. Can't be jammed by dropping onto ball with latch.

by:

Good quality products, super good service, fast delivery

Way easier to use then some other couplers that get stuck constantly.

This coupler rocks! Snug fit, easy to use and low clearance allow me to drop my Honda Element tailgate without contact. Feels more secure than typical latch type, I definitely recommend.

by:

just what I needed to fix my trailer

by:

Great product. Holes didn’t quite line up with my Canadian trailer. Simple matter to enlarge them a bit with a step up drill bit drilling into the trailer. It was just enough to get the bolts in.

by:

Product was just as described. Fast shipping, same great service as usual.
Thanks

I was concerned that the person who helped me didn't really know if this adapter would work on the trailer I purchased, but he was dead-on. Thank you.

  • Replacement Coupler for Shelby 5111
Shelby is no longer in business and there are no longer any type of repair kits for their couplers, so the best option we can offer is a new coupler with the same fit and capacities. Based on my research, the Shelby 5111 coupler had a 3,500 lb capacity, fit a 2" trailer channel and worked with a 2" ball so I recommend simply replacing the coupler with either of the following two options: - Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # CT-3001-Z - Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler # C82CR I...

  • Will the Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler for 2" Ball Work with 3" Wide Tongue
The Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler for 2" Ball part # C82CR is designed for a standard 2" wide x 3" tall trailer tongue. That said, it will work with any tongue size so long as it's 2" wide. It will not work with a 3" wide tongue. The correct version for a 3" wide trailer tongue is the Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler for 2" Ball part # C54UR. The height also does not matter for this coupler either.

  • What's The Mounting Hole Dimensions On Curt QuickPin Coupler C82CR?
On the Curt Coupler # C82CR the two mounting holes are 3" apart on center which you can see in the below diagram. I included a video of AJ installing this coupler for you to check out as well.

  • Replacement Trailer Tongue Coupler For Detail K2 Utility Trailer
The coupler on the Detail K2 Mighty Multi A-Frame Utility Trailer # K2MMT5X7 is for a 2" wide frame and has 3" on center bolt holes. The Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler # C82CR will bolt in place of the coupler that comes with the kit. It does not use a latch but will instead use a pin to hold the trailer onto the ball. I recommend the Lock N Roll Articulating Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # 336TS528. This coupler will reduce eliminate the slop of the ball type connection giving...

  • Lock For Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler for 2 Inch Ball
There are a couple of different ways you can lock the Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler for 2" Ball, either with a standard coupler lock, or you can use a 1/2 inch diameter hitch pin lock, since that is the same size as the pin and clip (though you should always use the pin and clip that come with the coupler when towing and not a lock). So to lock it you can use any of the following options, depending on what you prefer: - etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock for Flat Lip 1-7/8" and 2"...

  • How to Use Trailer Coupler On Smaller Trailer Channel
There isn't a trailer coupler for a channel any smaller than 2 inches. You could still use a standard coupler for a 2 inch channel, but what you would have to do is fabricate and weld on spacers to the tongue in order to mount it. If you did that you would be able to use a standard channel coupler like the Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - 1-7/8" Ball # CT-2001-Z or the Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler for 2" Ball # C82CR. I have added a link below to our entire selection of trailer...

  • Solution for Trailer with Shelby 5133 Coupler with Broken Latch
We don't have a repair kit for your coupler but we do know that your Shelby 5133 was a 3,500 lb capacity 2 inch ball coupler for a 2 inch wide channel like the # C82CR which you'd be able to replace what you have with.

The etrailer Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # CT-3001-Z and Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler # C82CR are currently the only 2" ball couplers we carry that fit a 2" square trailer channel. Bulldog's smallest coupler only fits a 3" channel.

Hey William, The Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler # C82CR fits a 2" wide tongue channel and the mounting holes are spaced 3" apart from center to center. You can pick up the recommended hardware (1/2" Hex bolt - grade 5 qty. 4 and 1/2" Nylock nut - grade 5 qty. 4) at your local hardware store to get it mounted to the tongue.

  • Replacement 2" Ball Coupler Options For A 2" Wide Trailer Tongue
Demco unfortunately doesn't have an EZ-latch coupler for a 2" wide channel so you're left with three options: etrailer # CT-3001-Z (3-1/16 bolt hole spacing) Curt # C82CR (3" bolt hole spacing) Dutton-Lainson # DL13835 (3" hole spacing) Of the three options the Curt # C82CR is going to be the easiest to use since it just has a 1/2" diameter hitch pin to slip through the coupler and lock the ball in place. The only other option would be to have some 1/2" steel plates added to the...

  • Is There a 1-7/8" Trailer Coupler for 2" Channel Rated Over 2,000 Lbs
The hitch ball size plays into weight capacity which is why you won't find many 1-7/8" trailer couplers rated over 2,000 lbs. If you need a higher weight capacity you'd have to bump up to a 2" hitch ball using a coupler like the Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler for 2" Ball part # C82CR.
