Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a brief look at this Yakima Steel RoundBar Crossbar. Now, this is going to let you replace a damaged crossbar or add another bar to an existing rack to help you distribute the load on your roof. Now, this bar that I have here in front of me is going to be, as you can see 48 inches long and the diameter is one and one-eight inches. And on your screen, I am also including the other lengths of this bar that we do provide.
So, again, this bar here is 48 inches long, but this can also come in 58 inches, 66 inches, and 78 inches. So, on your screen I am including our item numbers of those different lengths. And if you are looking for one of those lengths other than this 48-inch one, you can just take that item number that you see there on your screen, put it in the search field of our website and that will take you to the length that you are looking for. So, this is constructed from a vinyl-coated galvanized steel. (metal tapping) And the round bar end caps are sold separately, and of course, those are going to do a great job of keeping out dirt and grime.
So, if you are also wanting to take a look at those end caps I'm also including our item number for those end caps on your screen. And they do come in a quantity of one. So, you can just add however many you are looking for to your order. So, you are going to receive this one crossbar and this does have a limited lifetime warranty from Yakima. Well, that's gonna conclude our real brief look today.

Fast shipping, excellent communication with product stock and delivery!
etrailer is excellent...however, not too pleased with Yakima and these cross bars - second set in four years...they make them out of a steel that rusts quickly...better out of stainless or aluminum. Maybe that is their idea of planned obsolescence. I also learned not to install end caps...that accelerated the corrosive process.
Everything from etrailer is timely and of good quality! The Yakima crossbars are no exception - they are indestructible.
I have used Yakima products for decads, after two decades I got a new vehicle and I needed a wider set of bars. After two decades the products are still relatively easy to install, and fit tight and secure to my vehicle. Do take care to pay attention to the installation instructions and follow the recommended measurements very closely and the installation will go smoothly.
Free delivery that showed up in 3 days!!! Can't beat it. The crossbars with the Control Towers and LandingPad 9 fit perfectly on my Honda Element. Had them installed in about 30 mins. Don't have my cargo box yet and wanted to test strength, so I had my 110lb wife standing on them with no issues (yes, the car was parked). Plan to take a long camping trip next week with a cargo box on top...wife will be in the vehicle:-)
I ordered the Yakima roof rack, with the Hullyrollers for the back crossbar and the Mako saddles for the front crossbar to use with my kayak. It arrived just like they told me and I put them on my car the eveningit arrived. Got to finlly use the roof rack on June 22 to go out kayaking and it worked great. Only thing is I did not know about the air reflector piece for the front crossbar. Now I will be ordering it to help with the wind noise.
Sturdy, support the roof rack well
Great rack, go on fast, easy to install and work well on my VW TDI wagon. Care has to be given and follow the instructions for the install to what type of rails you have. Works great carrying the VW luggage carrier and plan on using it to carry kayaks as well. Just have not decided what kayak rack type to get yet.

The Yakima roof rack system is an Outstanding product. I purchased the product to replace the OEM roof rack because it was too flimsy to carry the tandem bike mount and my bike. The Yakima roof rack is solid and provides me the peace of mind while hauling my bike on the roof of my car. etrailer provided the product for the best price as always.
I've attachec a few pictures of the Yakima rack on my Audi Q7. It took a few attempts to find the right combination of attachments, but in the end, the pin attachments work best with the access points on the factory flush-mount rails. Great product!!!!!
roof racks showed up in great condition, and showed up as one package.... I should have ordered the J racks from here but I found them cheaper locally so Thule J racks compliment the whole setup and i am just about ready to hit the water :)

Roof Rack 2008 Saturn Astra The roof rack arrived one day early...The packaging was excellent and the quality of the product more than met my expectations. The instructions made the insulation very easy. It took less than 45 minutes to install the unit complete.
Have been rocking my Yakima rack from etrailer.com for a year now. I am using rack in conjunction with a Tepui tent. Once I added the air deflector, I would say it's the perfect setup. The Yakima gives more clearance over the factory rack, so I was able to get my hands under it to secure the tent hardware. If you're thinking of upgrading your factory rack, I would not hesitate to use etrailer.com

Yakima Crossbars were as you would expect - steel bars coated in a soft black coating (be mindful when you are utilizing these with the top mounts as the clamp will eat through the soft coating when you tighten them down). I had issues with my yakima round bar setup as the brackets and tower system were allowing water to leak in. This is in no way reflective of what youll experience but Yakima has superb support. I spoke with them twice on my issue and out of their kindness they shipped me an entire setup to replace my existing one for free.
Bought as a pkg for my 2017 Golf R with Round Bars since I had a bunch of Yakima bike racks and a canoe gunwale rack for my old Yakima set up. Installation was easy with good instructions. All measurements from the Yakima site appear to be spot on.

The yellow pads on the crossbars are pool noodles secured by zip ties. They provide padding for a third or even a fourth kayak.
Yakima stuff is pretty good. If it were not so over priced (and this retailer gave the best deal) I'd rate it 4 stars. However, I know from past experience that Yakima bars, despite coating on the current bars that is significantly thinner than older bars, will rust if used near water. They sell this stuff for water sports! And then act surprised that it rusts. Since I have a lot of their stuff and old rusty bars I bought these as a replacement despite my misgivings.
The foregoing is NOT a criticism of this vendor who sold the stuff at a good price compared to what Yakima wants and delivered it promptly
