Optronics UCL20CB LED Light Bar Diagram

Raw Lumens vs. Effective Lumens

Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. This light has a 7,500 raw lumen capacity and produces 4,521 effective lumens.

Video Transcript for Optronics Off Road Lights - Light Bar - UCL20CB Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Optronics Off-Road LED Light Bar. The LED light bar is going to deliver a bright, mixed beam, which is ideal for off-road driving. You're going to have your flood beam, which is great for seeing out in front of you and off to both sides. You're also going to have your spot beam, which is great for seeing at a distance. The unit's going to feature high-quality light output from 2 rows of 20 LEDs, so 40 LEDs total. The LEDs have a 200,000-hour lifespan. Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on those LEDs.

On the back side, the unit's going to feature these channeled fins. These are located on housing. They're going to let heat quickly dissipate to optimize the LED performance. The unit's going to feature a durable, water-resistant construction. It's going to feature a black powder-coated die-base aluminum housing that's rustproof. It's also a lightweight design, weighing in at under 5 pounds.

The unit's also going to feature tough, polycarbonate lens that's impact resistant. It's going to feature an IP65 rating for protection against dust and moisture. Pretty simple installation. It's going to come with these universal mounting feet. It's going to provide a nice, sturdy base, and they're going to come with some rubber padding on the feet. These can be installed directly under the feet.

That's going the help prevent scratching to the mounting surface. The unit does feature a 2-wire design. You're going to have a nice, thick wire casing and the two wires. Red wire is for power; black wire is for ground. You'll notice that the mounting hardware as well as the Allen key, that's all going to be included with this product. Again, the unit's going to contain a total of 40 diodes. When it comes to the wattage, we're looking at 120 watts.

That's 3 watts per LED with a power draw at 3 amps. This will work for 12-volt or 24-volt systems. The input voltage for this unit is 9-volt to 30-volt DC. Again, Optronics is going to put that lifetime warranty on their LEDs. When it comes to the output, it's going to feature an effective lumen output of 4,521 lumens with a raw lumen output of 7,500 lumens. A few measurements to go over with you with you real quick, and then we're going to hook it up to power so you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. We're going to take some measurements of just the light bar itself. Starting with the overall length right there of just the bar, that's going to measure 21-1/4" long. Measuring the height, again just the bar, that's going to measure, it's just the bottom of my thumb right there, 3-1/16". Then the overall depth is going to measure 3-3/8" deep from front to back. Now when it comes to the overall dimensions including the feet, going edge-to-edge, measuring the length measurement, that's going to be giving us a measurement of about 24-1/2" long. Overall height is going to be about 4-1/2" tall. Again, the depth stays the same at 3-3/8". I do want to point out that the feet have these little teeth in it right here that line up with the grooves on the bar. That way you can adjust the feet to get the bar at the angle that you need for your application. Feet are going to be the same. These are going to give you a measurement, edge-to-edge this direction, of about 1-3/4". Going this direction, it's going to be about 1-1/4". That's how much room each foot's going to take up at the mounting location. Then the mount holes are going to be separated apart from one another on-center by about 23-3/4". Again, it does come with the hardware. These bolts are going to measure about 1-9/16" long from the bottom of the head to the end of the threads. They're going to have a diameter of around 1/4". We're going to go ahead and hook it up to power. That way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. We'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights, so you can see it in a lower-light setting. You can see here that sends out a very clear, consistent signal. Again, this unit's going to contain a total of 40 LEDs, and it's going to have the mixed beam. You're going to have your flood beams and your spot beams. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics Off-Road LED Light Bar.

Does it's job and lights up the road and sides to keep you out of the ditches on rainy and foggy nights. A "must have" for me!

Yep! One year. It goes by quickly. The light is on my go to vehicle. With bad weather, foggy nights or heavy rain, the light helps me to be safer on the roads. Its a 10.

Very nice package, Very easy to install,It took a little extra time for me. I added a remote control switch to it that I can turn on and off from hundreds of feet away.
I also didn’t want to drill holes in my bumper so I found these rare earth magnets that I attach the brackets to.
With the magnets on the bumper, I couldn’t even pull it off but I did put a wire tie around one of the cooling fins around my grill Just as a safety precaution, primarily for bumpy roads.

I really like this light bar. Very bright and works really well when I am moving snow early in the morning or at night

by:

These lights are doing just what we wanted. Use them quite often on accident scenes

by:

It seems to get water inside the housing and on the backside of the lens if I wash my vehicle. I thought it was sealed. It still works but only time will tell if it'll hold up

Still getting water inside. Wanna take out the stainless steel allens but not sure if that void the warranty on the l.e.d.s

Excellent light! We use it as a backup light on our 938M because the stock halogens constantly burn out. This thing has great coverage and looks plenty durable enough with cast mounts (instead of bent sheet metal) for a very rough environment like a transfer station.

by:

Very bright at a very reasonable cost. Mounted on front bumper of Jeep Wrangler TJ with no issues and no problems over the last year. Much less expensive than equivalent lights from other sources.

The Optronics light bar is a good quality light bar at a good price and definitely recommended to anyone wanting a light bar for their vehicle and/or UTV/ATV. etrailer is a great company to do business with. Everyone at etrailer was helpful especially Chris, and they are dedicated to customer service. It was also easy to track the order on their website. Thanks

  • Can Spot Beam and Flood Beam be Used Separately On Optronics LED Light Bar # UCL20CB
The Optronics LED Off-Road Light Bar # UCL20CB referenced in your question does feature a combination spot beam and flood beam but the two beam styles cannot be operated separately. The mixed beam will allow you to see clearly at a distance as well as off to both sides at the same time. It has a standard 2-wire design (white for ground and black for power), is compatible with 12V DC and 24V DC systems, and comes with the needed mounting hardware. I have attached a short video demonstration...

  • Installing Off Road Light Bar On 2017 Honda Rancher ATV
The Optronics LED Off-Road Light Bar # UCL20CB will work with your 2017 Honda Rancher. The 12V will power it sufficiently and it will draw 9.8 amps. The mounting holes will be 23-3/4 inch on center. I recommend connecting it to your battery with an inline switch. Connect # 16-1-1 wire to the positive battery terminal and then use Pollak Light-Duty Toggle Switch - On-Off - 12 Volt - 10 Amp - 6" Wire Leads # PK34513 on the power wire using # DW05744-5.

  • No Drill Mini Light Bar Mount for a Ford F-350 and Transit T150
I have a solution for you, but the problem you're going to run into is going to be that most light bars that don't require drilling are mounted to either an aftermarket bumper that has light attachment points or spans the width of the vehicle and attaches via brackets that utilize pre-drilled holes/screws on the vehicle. I notice you were looking at the Buyer's Products 3rd Brake Light Mount # 3378895350, but we unfortunately do not have one that is designed to fit on the 2019 Ford F-350's...
