Rotating Arms with Ratcheting Wheel Hooks
The NV 2.0 has ratcheting hooks that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheel - not the frame. It's perfect for carrying carbon bikes or bikes with a custom paint job. To load a bike, simply place your front wheel in the cradle, rotate the arm up and over the wheel, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hook.
Large Front Wheel Cradles
The front wheel cradles will easily accommodate fat bike wheels. They can also be adjusted to perfectly fit each bike's wheelbase. Use the included Allen key stored in the compartment at the back of the rack to adjust.
Sliding, Ratcheting Rear-Wheel Straps
Ratcheting rear-wheel straps slide along the wheel trays to accommodate bikes with a variety of wheelbases. Press the quick-release button on the strap buckle to remove your bikes. An extender strap is included for use with 1 fat bike. Additional extender straps (sold separately) are available if you have more than 1 fat bike.
Foot Lever for Easy Tilting and Folding
The spring-loaded foot lever is easily accessible even with your bikes loaded. No more crawling through your bikes or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to hit the tilt release lever.
The foot lever lets you tilt the rack down with bikes loaded for cargo area access. It leaves both hands free so that you can lower the rack in a controlled manner. When the rack is unloaded you can fold it up for storage.
Built-In Repair Stand
The Trail Doc is a handy repair stand that attaches to the front of the rack. It lets you position your bike as needed for adjustments, cleaning, and on-the-go repairs. It can also be locked into place to prevent theft and includes a cap for the housing if you prefer to use the rack without it.
A spring-loaded clamp grabs your bike by the seat post or top tube. It has a soft, rubber coating that won't scratch your bike's paint. The rotating clamp arm lets you adjust the angle of your bike and the locking collar secures your bike at the desired height.
Note: The Trail Doc is shipped installed on the base rack. Simply remove it from the base rack, install the add-on, and install the repair stand on the add-on.
Tool-Free Installation with Anti-Rattle Device
The knob at the front of the shank lets you quickly and easily install the rack. Just slide the shank into your hitch and turn the knob until snug. The knob deploys an anti-rattle wedge inside the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection. The locking hitch pin has an Allen tool on the end that further tightens the hand knob if you are still experiencing rattle after hand-tightening.
Complete Security for Bikes and Rack
The NV 2.0 includes integrated cable locks that lets you secure your bikes to the rack. A 1/4" thick, braided steel cable extends from each wheel tray, threads through your bike's frame, and locks back onto itself.
A locking hitch pin is also included to secure the rack to your vehicle. Lock cores (sold separately) let you key each lock alike so you only need 1 key for the rack.

Excellent rack, a year later still in great condition. No movement at hitch when driving like other racks. Love the extra bar to work on bike in parking lot.
Cracked a part on the rack when backing up accidentally hit it, I called the company and they immediately sent out new part no questions asked and rack is like new. Easy to access the drop and raise bar even with bikes on .A note that with larger mountain bikes only three really fit on the four rack without adjusting handle bars.

This bike rack has worked well for our family of 4. It allows us to safely and securely carry all 4 bikes through the mountains of Colorado with our Hallmark Milner truck camper. Strong and durable rack that barely moves when driving. etrailer's customer service was outstanding. The rack was initially delayed and after one phone call to check status a warehouse manager quickly solved a minor issue and got the rack shipped. etrailer was fantastic in managing this transaction with extremely limited staffing. etrailer is the first place I check for anything recreation as I've never had anything but stellar service.

This bike rack is built extremely good. It is solid and the bikes are easy to put on and off the rack.
The reason for the 3 stars are the following. I purchased the 4 bike rack together. It comes in two seperate boxes one for the main unit and the other for the additonal two bike add on. However, even purchasing this as one unit the two units are keyed different. If I have 4 bikes on the rack and lock the bikes I have to have two different keys to unlock the bikes. Why?
The main unit came with some scratches on it. However, I know that putting bikes on and off the unit will get scratched. It is disappointing to see the amount of money this bike rack cost to come already scratched.
The other major issue with having the four bike rack is the ability to have all 4 bikes on the rack and tilt the rack down to get into the hatch of the vehilce. The manufacture could provide an extention to the lever so that when the rack is setup for 4 bikes it can be tilted without the assistance of another person.
Only comes with two child bike adaptors.

I am totally in love with this rack. It works exceptionally well--easy to load and unload my bikes and they feel stable. I replaced a 5 bike, Thule hanging style with this rack.
My absolute favorite thing about the rack is that the rear door of my 2017 MDX can open and close with the 2-bike rack in place (not loaded, folded up toward the car). This is a total game changer. I have 3 small kids and I love that I no longer have to battle a bike rack every time I need access to the back of my car.

After a year, we still love our Kuat bike rack! We are a family of 5, so our only worry is how we will someday carry 5 bikes when the smallest one wont fit in the back of the car. Kuat, please make a 5 bike version!

So after one year this Kuat NV 2.0 has worked out perfectly. I use it once or twice a week and have done a couple big trips to the mountains with it. At time I just leave it on my van. Still looks and performs great. Once everything is adjusted getting 4 bikes on is easy. This is a solid rack that youll hand down to your kids. Its built that good. The only issue I had was a little black rubber piece that cover the locking pin through the hitch broke, but its not even an issue. If I could change something it would be the weight. Its pretty heavy when you have the 2 bike attachment on. Make sure if you get the attachment for 4 bikes ask to have the same key for both. I didnt know and assume it would but I have two different keys.

Very pleased with the quality and construction of the Kuat bike rack. Had a little issue when installing the add on rack. One of the receiver nuts was miss aligned with the bolt but was able to get it to work. Rack is very sturdy and easy to add and remove bikes. A little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for and piece of mind knowing your bikes are safe and secure is worth the extra expense.
I would definitely recommend this bike rack.

Shipping was v. quick. Rack takes a little while to assemble since it is heavy and is shipped in several pieces, but the rack feels well made and is extremely easy to use once it is assembled and in place on the hitch.

Worth every penny--couldn't be happier with my decision to spend a bit more for this quality platform hitch bike rack. Assembly was a little awkward at times and a 2nd pair of hands was nice, but really not that bad. The Gunmetal Gray color choice was also a nice option that looks sharp with my charcoal MDX. I really like having the ability to easily convert to a 2 bike rack from the 4 bike rack and back. Great quality product and Karen was most helpful in assisting me with my order choice at etrailer!

Not the least expensive rack for sure, but it's a high quality product. The bikes stay put inside the rack, and the rack doesn't wobble at all. Everything is solid. The integrated cable locks are great for securing bikes during brief stops.

Spent a lot of money on this rack hoping it would work for my family on a big road trip. It worked ok for full size bikes, but the adapter to work with smaller wheels on kids bikes does NOT work. It dropped my daughter’s bike on the highway twice.

Very solid and bikes go on/off with ease. The built in mechanism that allows you to tighten the hitch to prevent sway works great, as well as the built in lock system. It’s on the heavy side, I need help pulling on and off but I can carry it (5’6” female that’s decently athletic), but I think it should have some girth on it to be as solid as it is. Worth the money if you bike often!

Great we drove 6000 miles with this rack behind our jeep wrangler behind our RV coach. Held the bicycles beautifully in place. We added the swing away part and that made access to our jeep very easy. For sure a great bike rack. What I also loved is how quickly one can get the bikes on and off. I think the best rack on the market!!

It's very easy to assemble and works great the two times I've used it, over washboard roads and potholes. I ended up buying this after going back and for over a few other brands in the upper end price range. I settled on this one because my wife would be using it without me around so usability was paramount. It's easy to drop down, load everything from cruisers to kids bikes and it's stable. Win. Win. Yep, it's a few extra bucks, but the engineering, fit and finish is an upgrade to my lexus!

I have had a few bike racks in the past but this is absolutely the best and last rack you will need. It has held up well and my bike are very secure in transport. I just received my Kuat NV22G-NA22G E-trailer was phenomenal, Fast delivered it in about three days . The bike rack is incredibly well built (Super Strong). it took a little bit of time to assemble but nothing complicated. This is ,in my opinion, a very expensive rack but it is probably hands-down the best hitch mount bike rack on the market. I will say that I have only assembled the initial two bike rack and have not yet attached the additional two bike rack to make it a four bike rack. But it will definitely be on the heavy side when the four bike unit is complete. However it is tremendously sturdy and well-built .

Fast shipment of the bike rack from etrailer.com Both boxes arrived safely and all the parts were present.
This bike rack is the best I have seen for a hitch mount. Kuat has designed a superior product. I shopped and compared this to the Yakima and Thule racks of similar designs. This Kuat NV 2.0 beats them all. It fits for adjustable wheel bases with the sliding back wheel strap and adjustable front wheel slot. It also locks in wheels from 20" up to 29". The 20" requires an additional adapter sold separately.
The finish and the build quality are top grade and I expect this bike rack to last many years. I am switching from a Thule 4-bike hitch rack after about 10 years with the Thule.

So far the Kuat NV 2.0 has been everything I thought it would. The assembly process and instructions were pretty straight forward. It can be done by one person but will be much easier with additional helping hands to hold or turn the allen/hex wrench.

I am sorry to hear that the bike rack arrived scratched. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you about it. As for the different keys, yes with purchasing the two bike add on with the bike rack it will come with two different keys. The reason being that the two bike add on comes in a separate box that does not have the key number [for security reasons] listed on it. It is not possible to ship matching keys because of this. You can purchase part # LOCO4 if you want all the locks on the rack to match. I personally wish this was not the case however it is the same for all the bike rack manufacturers that we carry that offer two bike extensions. As for the suggestion regarding an extension for the lever to lower 4 bikes more easily, I can pass that along to Kuat.
