Recommended Trailer Hitch And 4-Bike Carrier For 2012 Honda Odyssey
Question:
Can this model of rack be used on my Odysee? I havent picked out a hitch yet but it looks like most hitches only have 6inch of clearance on the back end but this rack looks like it has 5. Any suggestions on a hitch and platform rack for 4-bikes? Looked at the Yakima but it is really heavy. Maybe the Kuat NV 4?

First, the trailer hitch I recommend for your 2012 Odyssey is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75270. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening. As the attached installation video shows, the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the 2012 Odyssey is 6 inches, which is important when choosing any accessories you wish to carry in the hitch.
You are correct about the Saris Freedom SuperClamp EX Platform Rack, part # SA4026F. It does only have 5-1/4 inches distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack when folded up. This bike rack weighs 63 lbs and has a capacity of 60 lbs per bike in the two inner positions and 35 lbs per bike on the outer two positions.
The Kuat NV 2.0, part # NV22G-NA22G has 7 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier and would give you the clearance you need. This bike rack weighs 82 lbs but you can detach the 2-bike add-on if needed.
