Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the passenger's-side interior trim panel in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Disappointed in the hot wire had to run. Curt makes a model that does not require this extra step and is cheaper than the harness I purchased. It works, but it's not the best choice for my 19' Odyssey.

by:

Easy to install and great quality.

2022 Honda Odyssey

This sucks. Every other video installation instructions from Tekonsha I can find (same manufacturer as this one) doesn't require all these extra wires going to the battery at the front of the van. What a joke.

Older vehicles typically dont need the extra power feed to the battery, but that necessity is common with newer vehicles. Mainly as a cost saving measure, the vehicle manufacturers now use smaller gauge wiring in their taillight wiring harnesses which can no longer handle pulling the power through the taillight circuits for both the vehicle and trailer taillights. This is why the extra circuit needs to be ran to the vehicle battery. This setup also helps isolate the vehicles more sophisticated and much more expensive to repair wiring from any short circuits that might occur in the trailers wiring, which is a good thing.

I’m giving 5 stars because I ordered the wrong harness. I called and talked to Steve Kat, who took care of everything for me. The right harness is in the mail comings my way, and with a return authorization I just boxed up my return for shipping tomorrow.
Great service, and nice guy too.

by:

I ordered this wiring kit and they sent me a preopened box. I didn’t open it until after the return window and someone had cut a wire off. That’s how it came to me. Would probably say beware of this product.

by:

I love it!!! I was looking for a stock look and you guys NAILED IT! all that is visible is the receiver. everything else is neatly hidden under the bumper skin which cut nicely with my multi tool. For my wiring harness I tied into the fuse panel by the vacuum instead of running a wire to the battery. I did still use the supplied fuse, i just plugged into one of the unused constant power plugs. If I had to be picky I would request a better photo of the rear bumper or even better a template for cutting. that was the only part that had me sweating. Lift gate sensors are not blocked and still work perfect with no mods needed.

Honda Odyssey

This has served us well over several long trips with our Honda Odyssey. We use this primarily with a hitch mounted platform used to hold several hundred pounds of contents.

by:

Installation was a breeze. Chose to not cut the rubber bushing when sending the hot lead wire through the rear taillight assembly. It slide right through with the existing wiring for the light.

by:

Great price and delivery on the hitch and wiring harness. It was simple to install. Thanks to ETRAILER

by:

Product installed per video, needed a floor jack and prop van up on some wood blocks to install. All went well, happy with purchase.

by:

Worked great.
Thanks

2019 Honda Odyssey

This kit requires that you run a NEW 12v wire all the way from the engine compartment! I wish it said that in the title. I had to return it and buy the other kit that just plugs into the existing wire harness in the back. I don’t really know why they even make this version.

by:

Quick to ship, Fit my vehicle perfectly....Installed it in under 2 hrs....light module was simple...
Saved over $400 compared to U-Haul and others.....Couldn't be happier

by:

Trailer hitch fit great, instructions and video were spot on. Electrical connection and instructions were also very good.

by:

The product is outstanding! quality material. Super easy installation and great videos to assist with any tricky steps. Also some extra tips. Would definitely buy something here again!

Harness was not a plug and go as I expected. Fortunately Honda dealer did have a plug and go harness.

by:
2019 Honda Odyssey

Everything was easy to use. The only issue I had was the plate for the lag bolts wasn’t wide enough and the bolt was free spinning. I was able to use a pair of vise grips and open ended wrench to tighten it down. Other than that great prosuct.

by:

Perfect connector for great price

by:

traded vehicle in not longvafter installation, never used to tow

  • Hitch And Brake Controller Recommendation/Installation on 2021 Honda Odyssey
Let's begin with the hitch. Instead of the etrailer # e98855 that you'd looked at, I'd recommend going with the Curt # C64NR. The difference between the two is how visible they are once installed. The # e98855 will be fully visible, the # C64NR will have a concealed hitch crossbar with the only visible portion of the hitch being the receiver tube and the safety chain loops. This provides a much better appearance. You've nailed it with the products needed to add a brake controller. You'll...

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring and Brake Controller for 2020 Honda Odyssey
I'm not sure how you went about wiring your old van but with the new 2020 Honda Odyssey the easiest way to install a 7-way trailer connector is by first adding a 4-way and then converting it to the 7-way. For the 4-way I prefer the Tekonsha options because I like the converter box to be secured with a screw instead of double sided tape like the other option. One of two different Tekonsha harnesses work for your van; use part # 118753 if your van has no pins in the 10, 11, and 12 cavities...

  • Best Trailer Hitch with Most Ground Clearance for a 2019 Honda Odyssey
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76170 offers the most ground clearance for a 2019 Honda Odyssey so that is what I recommend using. It also has a hidden design which means only the receiver tube will be present. The best trailer wiring harness will then be the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118753. If you don't already have a ball mount and hitch ball, the etrailer Ball Mount Kit part # 989900 is what I recommend.

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 2020 Honda Odyssey
For Honda Odyssey models with the pins missing from the 10,11 and 12 fuse locations, you'll need to use the Tekonsha # 118753, as the fuse box won't supply the power needed to run the trailer lights if the # 118781 is used. Honestly, running the wire to the battery isn't too terribly difficult. You'll simply follow the brake lines up to the front as shown in the linked video.

  • Hidden Trailer Hitch and Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2019 Honda Odyssey
The hitch and wiring kits for a 2019 Honda Odyssey are the same as the 2018 models. The etrailer.com hitch part # E95588 is a fit for either. The other hitch I would recommend though is the Curt part # C64NR as only the hitch opening will hang below the rear bumper which makes it the least visible. For wiring the best option is the T-One kit part # 118753 which is a custom fit and the brand we offer that has the most reliable converter boxes. If you wanted to do some towing you might...

  • Recommended Wiring Harness For 2018 Honda Odyssey
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118753 is currently the only confirmed fit we have from any manufacturer. The power wire to the Modulite is a little inconvenient to run and I get that it is easier to get a harness that doesn't use it, however, it is a safer harness. Because it draws its power from the vehicle battery, it protects the factory wiring from overdraw preventing an overload to your electrical system. I've attached an article on routing...

  • Differences Between Available Class III Hitch Options for 2020 Honda Odyssey
Both hitches would share the same 525 lb tongue weight/3500 lb towing GTW towing capacity, but the similarities would end there. The Curt # C64NR is a concealed design, meaning that the majority of the hitch would be concealed behind the Odyssey's bumper when the hitch is installed with just the receiver and safety chain loops being visible. Because of the concealed design, the bumper cover would need removal to install the hitch and would be reinstalled afterward. The Curt # C13370 is...

  • How Does 7-Way Attach to 2019 Honda Odyssey When Using Hidden Hitch
You can mount a 7-way under your 2019 Honda Odyssey with Draw Tite hitch # 76170 but you'd need to mount the 7-way bracket to the the lower rear bumper fascia. You'll want to start with a 4-way like part # 118753 and then convert to a 7-way with part # ETBC7 so you can install a brake controller like the Brake EVN # TK63VR. The # ETBC7 comes with self tapping screws that you will run through the bracket into the lower fascia of your vehicle.

Before you install a 7-way trailer wiring setup to your 2022 Honda Odyssey, you need to have a 4-way harness installed first. If you need a 4-way harness, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118753. • Can Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness 118753 be Used on 2019 Honda Odyssey for Wireless Brake Control
Yes, for your setup you could still use the Tekonsha trailer wiring harness part # 118753 for a 4-way that you would convert to install a wireless brake controller. We have a kit for installing wireless brake controllers on vehicles with 4-ways that would be perfect for you with the # ETBC7L which comes with everything you'd need to install a wireless controller like the Curt Echo part # C51180.

For your 2022 Honda Odyssey the best vehicle wiring harness is the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118781. Upon installing and testing various brands of harnesses we have found the Tekonsha branded ones to hold up the best over time and be the most reliable which is why they have become a favorite of our installers. The towing capacities and functions are identical and are based more off of your vans capabilities than either hitch's strength. The main difference is that the # 118753 is designed for vehicles that do not have the towing fuses already in place. • Comparing Vehicle Wiring Harnesses For 2022 Honda Odyssey
You are correct that for your 2022 Honda Odyssey there are a few different vehicle wiring harness options which can make things a bit confusing.
