Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side tail light. You will have to remove the tail light assembly to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in the jack storage compartment of your trunk.

Alternate Wiring Route

You can also route the wiring in the manner shown above to stow the 4-way flat connector beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure if you are mounting it near the hitch.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

It was really easy to install. After taking the taillight out. I removed the jack. I pushed a small single wire through and pulled the harness into the van. Took 20 minutes start to finish.

2003 Dodge Grand Caravan

Super easy to install on my 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan. I was rear ended in a hit and run on the drivers side so I had to use channel locks to bend the hole open just a touch to let the box in, but again only cause that side of my van is crunched. And I didn't have to pull the plastic plugs out, I just had to take the Seahawks duct tape off and put some new stuff on when I was done. Really easy to install. Just need a drill with a 1/4" bit to install the ground wire. And a knife or scissors.

by:

I love it! It was so easy to connect and all my lights work perfectly.

by:

Ordered my T One Wiring Harness on a Thurs evening and received the package Sat in the mail. I went and installed it Sunday. Installation was a breeze especially after watching the installation video on Etrailers website. I highly recommend using Etrailers for your trailer wiring needs and wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.

by:

My biggest surprise was how this harness was simply a "plug-n-play" installation. All connectors plugged in perfectly for a professional installation. And, it was so excellent to have the video for both the harness and the hitch. Both were actually as easy as it showed in the video. Thank you!

by:

Instalation was easy and it works great, plug and play.

2002 Chrysler Town and Country

I installed this etrailer wiring harness on my 2002 Chrysler Town & Country van. The directions were straightforward and the installation went without a hitch, with all the plugin fittings being well-made. The trailer connection tail piece is long enough so that it can be stored in the jack well on the left side of the van and when in use, is long enough to come out to the center of the tailgate. When I don't need to use it further, I just coil it up and put it back into the jack well. Especially appreciated was the fact that no wire splicing was necessary in the installation.

I have used the etrailer electrical connection with my own small utility trailer during the last year about a dozen times. I have had no problem whatsoever with it. It has always worked as designed.

by:

I finally had time to install the wiring harness. Paying extra for the simple "Plug and Play" was worth it in the ease of installation and reliability of the in-line plug in. I've installed a few of the traditional harnesses where you splice into the vehicle brake and turn single wires. I've also spent more hours tracing faulty connections. I don't hesitate to endorse this product
over the old method without hesitation.

The system is still working after being used at least once a week.

The wiring harness was just what we needed at a lower price than we could find anywhere online! We are now ready to camp with the easy installation! Fast shipping! Thank you!

2002 Chrysler Town and Country

I had read the reviews on this wiring harness and thought that this was too good to be true, I was wrong it is very easy to install. I did drill a hole under the carpet to thread the end down to the hitch area, then sealed it up with a waterproof chaulking. Very good product.

The manufacturer specifically designed the harness so the connector would be deployed from the interior of the vehicle when needed. This way, the connector is protected from damage when its not being used. The rear hatch of your vehicle has weatherstipping thats thick enough that the wire for the trailer connector wont be damaged as long as you avoid the latch area. How youve installed the trailer connector will work just fine for you, but the connector will be exposed to the elements.

2003 Chrysler Town and Country

Just have to say e trailer is great! Great price, correct item, fast shipping. Not sure how to rate the product. The same product was originally installed by a reputable professional hitch installer. I have been towing several different trailers without a problem. 5 months go by blew my brake and signal fuses then started to smoke. I'm thinking I left windows open during a heavy rain and the adapter got wet. The installer doesn't think that could happen but so far it has been installed for 2 weeks and no problems. Another note, I had the problem without a trailer attached.

by:

I purchased this wiring harness to go along with a
new trailer hitch which I also purchased. Harness
was recommended for my vehicle by etrailer and
it fit perfectly. Extremely satisfied and happy with
both products which I purchased from etrailer.

2003 Chrysler Town & Country

I Googled "2003 Chrysler T&C trailer wiring" with the following return. "etrailer w/ youtube" clip of installation. Ordered because it was less than $30, plug and play, minimal time, no stripping wire, no soldering, OEM fit. Painless and fast. 4 days later, my two teenage girls installed it in 15 minutes. One small tip. Use a 30 inch piece of safety wire to route the 4 pin socket from the tail-light through the jack well. Plugged it in, light check, hitched up, 100 miles, lots of bumps, no doubts. Winner!

by:

Great product, great price. Easy to understand instructions made the installation quick and easy.

I recommend etrailer and their products.

Jim R.

Still performing great. I continue to recommend your products.

by:

After one year of installation product started smoking filled up van with electrical fire smell, unit wasn't even plugged into a trailer, poor untested chinese electronics.

On the plus side no one was hurt and my van didn't light on fire.

by:
2010 Dodge Grand Caravan

I bought this wiring because of the ease of installation. I can't imagine why you would want to splice if a plug in is available for your vehicle. On my Caravan, it plugged into the drivers side tail light and the rest of the wiring stuffed into the hole behind it. I let it drop to the floor and pulled it out from under the side wall. Just hang the end out of the tail gate when you want to use it. The whole thing took about 10 minutes to install. It couldn't get any easier than that. And it works great! I would definitely recommend this product, and etrailer.com.

2001 Chrysler Town and Country

The trailer wiring was a little tricky installing. The ground wire was attached in a different place. Since I used to installed two-way radio's into military equipment it was not hard to figure out another grounding place. The most trouble I had was removing the tail light connector so I could plug in the trailer wiring. Test of trailer lights was right on. Even with the head lights on.

I found a website that showed how to release the connector.

by:

This wiring harness has been a good choice for me. I use it about every 2 or 3 weeks. It stays clean and dry inside the van when not in use takes a few extra seconds to pull it out and plug it in and also to put up. The old one on the outside of my van was corroded and quit working, I am not an electrician , but I replaced it myself with the instructions included. Thank you for a great product.

by:

Order arrived very quickly. Hitch and wiring harness fit perfectly. Have pulled multiple trailers without problems. Very satisfied with my purchase and with etrailer.

by:

Very easy installation. Wire could be a bit longer. I found it easier to push the trailer end of the wire through the tail light hole from the outside rather than feeding it back from inside to the tail light.
Installation Video would not play all the way through when I went to install (it did previous to me buying the wiring harness).

I have not tried it out yet to see if it works (115 F today in Oklahoma and not going to out to the lake until cooler!! Al Gore is clicking his heels with glee!!). I am a member of the "slow" group as it took me about 45 minutes to do the installation.

by:
2003 Dodge Grand Caravan

Good product. This wiring harness makes it a no-brainer to get a 2003 Dodge Caravan trailer ready. My installation required no drilling; only a nut driver and a screw-driver. After watching the very helpful installation video provided by e-trailer.com, the installation took me less than 30 minutes. The only criticism I have towards this is the price. But, this was offset by the time and frustration it saved me to get my vehicle ready for lights at the receiver hitch. Plus, e-trailer shipped this product super fast (and I didn't opt for expedited shipping)!

by:

All I have to say is WOW! I searched high and low for this part at all of my local auto parts stores and there was only one who could get it and it was 4 times the price that I paid at e-Trailer. The converter kit along with the how to video on the e-Trailer web site on how to install it was perfect. I had the trailer lights installed in under 10 minutes. I plan on using e-Trailer for ALL of my future parts needs. The company provided plenty of communicaiton from the time the part was ordered through delivery.

Mark me down as an exteremely satisfied customer!

etrailer knows their stuff. Got a tow kit and electrical harness for my Chrysler T&C. Everything fit perfectly and works as designed. With etrailer you're good to go.

by:
2003 Chrysler Town and Country

Excellent product. Put a hitch and wiring on my Chrysler Town and Country and there were no surprises. Everything matched up hole for hole and the instructions from the videos were spot on. I've bought from etrailer before for a dodge pickup and it was pretty much the same - everything went in just as advertized.

Youtube videos showing me how to install my wiring harness for my 2003 Dodge Caravan, awesome! E-mails and even a personal phone call to make sure that I was happy with my order! Their customer service is why I will do business with them again! You just don't have companies anymore that will take a personal interest in your satisfaction,e-trailer does!

  • Is a Special Wiring Harness Needed to Tow a Trailer with a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country
Your 2001 Chrysler Town and Country has what is called a separate or 3-wire lighting system. This means that the turn signals operate on different circuits/bulbs than the brake lights. But trailers use a combined system with the turn signals and brake lights on the same circuit (with few exceptions). So if you were to splice directly into the vehicle wiring then the light functions would not work properly on the trailer. So all you need to fix this is the proper wiring harness with a converter,...

  • Why Does Trailer Wiring for 2001 Dodge Caravan Require Converter Box
The reason your 2001 Dodge Caravan needs a taillight converter is because it has it's stop light circuit and blinker circuit on separate wires whereas standard trailer wiring has these two circuits combined. So this harness # 118376 combines the circuits like needed and also installs easily on your vehicle since it plugs inline with the factory vehicle wiring.
