A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

how will tork lift tie downs look on my truck

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

how to find the right tie down for my truck - custom camper tiedown

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

Got the tie-downs today. Shipped quickly. There is an extrusion ridge on the inside of the square tubing my hitch was made from. I had to file that out. Once done, everything slipped together like an Erector-Set project. Whole thing took 20 minutes. Very pleased.

by:

I really don't write reviews often but when everything is perfect is worth the time. I am a repeat Etrailer customer so it didn't surprise me that my shipment was complete and received in two days. These TorkLift frame mounted camper tie-downs are high-quality, heavy duty and powder coated. I put a full set on my new 2016 Ford F350 SRW 4 X 4 and will be using them with a Lance 855S truck camper. Installation went flawless without any drilling or adjustments. Instructions were clear and to the point. The most important benefit to the product is that your camper is held to your truck by the frame and not the bed and bumper. This reduces camper sway, movement and stress on the truck body. As far as appearance the tie down arms are removable for when the camper is not in use. This sure beats drilling holes in your truck bed, bumper and attaching brackets that permanently stay on the truck. Hats off to etrailer and TorkLift!

by:

Product was delivered as expected and installed according to the instructions. Disappointed with the coating/paint. Been in operation only a few months and the coating/paint is already coming off and starting to rust.

by:

Would have given it 5 stars except I am a little disappointed with the paint quality. Most parts had chips and spots of bare metal right out of the box. Installation was a breeze though and everything fit perfectly! I still would recommend this set, but if you have the extra $ maybe the aluminum version would be worth it if you are worried about rust? Too late for me though...

by:

Installed on a 2014 F350 with a factory installed hitch. Very easy to install the rear tie-downs. Directions suggest using a hammer and chisel to remove the excess welding flash inside the ends of the factory hitch. A rotary tool (dremel) with a grinding bit is a much better tool. Removes the flash and smoothes the insides for the forklift sleeves to slide in. I suggest hitting it with a coat of paint over the newly exposed metal; prevent rust.

The Torklift tie down system is awesome. I have used it to secure two different types of truck bed campers to my F350 for a total of over 8000 miles. Always secure, Ive never had a problem with them.

by:

excellent quality

by:

This product has the benefits of easy mounting and storage when not using the tie-downs. Although there is a lot of movement and flex in the mounting points at the truck end and also at point of Turnbuckle connection. Would much rather see a more rigid set-up and take advantage of spring loaded tie downs for movement and flexibility.

by:

Directions to install were very good. Had to file down some welded seam in the rear hitch bracket on the truck (as indicated in directions).
Not very happy with the finish. The paint (powder coat) was the worst and kept peeling off everywhere. A spray-can of Rustoleum made it all good!

by:

Perfect product. Amazing service! Caroline B. really made it happen for me when I called to expedite shipping. I needed the parts before the weekend in order to pick up a truck camper several hours from my home prior to leaving town. Caroline corrected the order, cancelled the original, and had it shipped within 20 minutes. She followed up with emails on tracking as well as delivery. etrailer always has such amazing service, and Caroline really came in clutch for me. Thank you!!!

by:

The TorkLift tie-downs do a great job. The package arrived promptly and I am happy with the service.

by:

Once installed, these tie-downs make securing my TC a breeze. I leave them in between trips too because they provide an excellent step up into the bed of the truck when TC is off duty. Highly recommend!

by:

These were real easy to mount to my existing factory installed trailer hitch. They work great.

by:

Installing them was relatively simple, but you should tell people that they need short drill bits. There is little room between the frame and pickup box, unless you have a angle drill. Also in the instructions you have bolts that need to be torxed down but I only found two of the three you list. I would give you five stars but for what you get they are overpriced.

by:

Just received my 2nd set of Torklift tie Downs and, as usual, etrailer delivered my order on time and in good shape. The Torklifts are top of the line in truck camper tie downs and etrailer is my go-to source for EVERYTHING truck and trailer related. Some have told me that this part or that part is cheaper on other sites, but I appreciate being able to repeatedly go to etrailer knowing that their products are top quality at very competitive prices. With such consistency, why shop anywhere else?

by:

Really easy to install once I figured it all out. The pictures helped. Hardest part was dropping the gas tank cover. The rear section took less than 1/2 hour. Maybe 2 hours for the front. I'm 71 so im a little slow crawling around under the truck. So far so good.

by:

Straight forward install, I have not used them yet!

Product used many times now. I have only one issue with the way the rear brackets mount to the trailer hitch. There is a lot of play in the bracket attachment [when the camper is off]. This needs to have a reworked bracket for better stability.

by:

Very easy installation.

by:

Very sturdy with solid mounting hardware.
Works
very well for anchor points of 2500lbs and more.
Paint could be better, mine have rust developing on all 4 corners.
So I'll just have to clean them up and repaint them.
But as for the strong build, I'm very glad the design is solid....

by:

Installed Torklift before I got the camper, great product, perfect fit. I did not consider any other product.

by:

Installed for a 2800# slide in camper. Installed easily and held camper in place. Nice to be able to pull a pin and remove the hold down.

by:

Excellent service! I was in a hurry to get our torklift tiedowns for vacation and they came as told in 2 days. Thanks Montreal!

by:

Fantastic fit! Utilizing the existing hitch, this clamp on adapter style tiedown is secure and installed in minutes. Connie and the rest of the staff were pleasant to work with which make it easier to highly recommend this company.

by:

Excellent service! etrailer usually has the product in stock that we are looking for and at a competitive price. And quick shipping!

by:

Amazing setup!! Brackets fit great!! Instructions were very detailed and correct!! Definitely recommend this product to all truck camper enthusiasts
