A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

how will tork lift tie downs look on my truck

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

Video Transcript for Review of TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Front Tie-Downs - TL77CR

Hello neighbor, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking together at this TorkLift Camper tie down custom frame mount kit for the front of your 2023 through '24 Ford F 250 Super Duty with the short bed. Now folks, as time and videos can change and be outdated, please always make sure you're checking our local fit guide here at etrailer.com's homepage where it asks for vehicle information put in things such as year, make, and model, cab size, bed length, if it has running boards, a hitch on the back, those kind of things. Make sure you're getting the right parts the first time. Now with this kit here, we'll create a nice attachment point for securing your camper to your truck bed, and it does pair with the rear tie downs that are sold separately. Now, it does also require turn buckles, which are also sold separately to attach the camper to these tie downs.

Now this does ensure excellent handling by distributing the camper's weight evenly, and it also helps whenever it's the low center of gravity so it's not gonna tilt back and forth as much and it avoids those top heavy setups that could be vulnerable in strong winds, tight turns, that kind of stuff. So when these install, they remain virtually invisible. They do mount to the frame. These bars can slide all the way out. They have two different settings on 'em.

Just need to put it to the setting you want, put the pin and clip in to lock it in place, your turn buckles go on the ends and then to the camper itself. Now it is nice, you can adjust it for simple connections to your camper and then when you're not using it, you can remove the arms and then it looks like a factory truck. You can't see anything. Everything's hidden underneath the truck. Now these have been made of a nice high quality steel and they've been black powder coated to ensure they're not gonna rust, corrode, that kind of stuff for years and years to come.

Now you're gonna have minimal loss of ground clearance with these, they do use preexisting holes already in the frame of your truck. So there's little to no drilling required really to install these. Just make sure you follow the included instructions and you should be fine. Lifetime warranty by TorkLift. It's a very, very good warranty.

It's all made here in the US. I do wanna point out they give you three of these fish wires. I left them in the packaging, but basically you put the bolt through here, pull it through the frame, out the preexisting holes in the frame, and gives you a nice connection point. You get another little bracket, some metal washers you break apart, and then all the washers, nuts, bolts, and pins and clips that you need to install 'em. Well, folks, again, I'm Steven. Thanks so much for your time. I hope this information today's been helpful for you. Have fun out there when you're camping and stay safe.

Instructions could be better an threads on bolts are total crap chunks are then out of them had to buy new bolts

Way to expensive for what it is but there isn't another alternative that fits my truck. The product itself is of good quality and the directions and parts are of good quality too. My only complaint is the unreasonable price.
