Video Transcript for Stromberg Carlson Leveling Scissor Jack Review

Speaker 1: Today you'll be getting a look at and seeing how to install the Stromberg Carlson Leveling Scissor Jack Set, with a quantity of two, part number JSC-24. They're also available in a quantity of one, with part number JSC-24-IND.You can bet on this pair of jacks. These scissor jacks from Stromberg Carlson are great for stabilizing and leveling your camper. As you can see, if your trailer is out of level, you can use your scissor jacks to level it. Check it out. Much better.

As you can see, without your scissor jacks engaged, there's a lot of movement in your trailer. With your scissor jacks engaged, all that extra movement is gone. They're adjustable between four and 24 inches and they have a 5000 pound weight capacity per jack. You can easily raise and lower them with the included crank handle. It's going to work out great on most surfaces.

As you can see, we're on concrete here. The bow-tie base is going to keep it steady even on soft surfaces. They're a bolt-on or weld-on installation. We'll go ahead and show you how to bolt them on now. Here you can see our old rusted out stabilizer jack. It's bent.

We're going to be replacing it. I've gone ahead and removed the old stabilizer. Let's bring in our new one. With our new one, you can see it's got multiple mounting locations. It's completely universal.

Now, you may or not be able to use your same mounting holes and locations. What you need to do is hold it up and figure out where it's going to work best. Now, once you've found a good location to install your stabilizer jack, you want to be sure that you can still easily access your drive nut, which is going to raise and lower your stabilizer jack. You'll want to raise your jack up to where it's making contact with your frame where you want to install it. Then you can mark your holes. Now, there are six holes on each side. I'm only going to be using four total, two on each side. You can use whichever holes work out best for you. Once you've got your holes marked, go ahead and move the jack out of the way, and then you can begin drilling out your holes. I'm going to be drilling out quarter-inch holes. If you'd like to, you can use a pilot bit and then drill out your final size. All right. With all those drilled out, you can go ahead and install your stabilizer jack. You will have to provide your own hardware.I'm just using some quarter-inch bolts with some flat washers and lock nuts. Now you can bring your jack back in and align your holes. Now you'll just loosely install all your hardware. Now we can tighten up our hardware. Now you can raise up your jack and it's ready for when you need it. That's going to complete your look at the Stromberg Carlson Leveling Scissor Jack set.

Much better jack than the one that came with the tow trailer. This 70 year old woman had no difficulties installing it. One year later still works great!

by:

I alwys have the best service with etrailer. Been using them for years.

by:

Very happy with the quality and craftsmanship of this jack. I was confident in its durability and ability to do the job from the moment I opened the box. Installation was a snap, using self-tapping #14 bolts (not supplied), and my leveling blocks made it easy for one person to install. Once installed, the combination of the four jacks, the double axle, and the tongue jack all gave my 25' 4500 lb trailer a very stable feel. I would highly recommend this jack to anyone looking to replace the cheaper stabilizers that usually come with new travel trailers.

by:

leveling jack was delivered very promptly and in good shape. installed on my 5th wheel easily and works fine. a bit lighter duty than the OEM jack but darn good value for the price and will get the job done. etrailer is the best!

by:

Great product and service. Thank You

by:

The stabilizer jack was a perfect fit for replacing the original that I broke on my travel trailer. 4 self tap metal screws from the original installation was all that was required to install.

by:

Great product for the price. Arrived with no issues. However both sides of the mounting bracket weren't level/flat. I had to put it in my vise to straighten it out to be able to weld them both. No biggie for my speed shop but for someone who might not have the means or capability, it might be an issue.

by:

Solid jack, good workmanship, although head on bolt is metric. While not a deal breaker, I wish this had been identified in spec, since its non standard size requires me to use a different size socket.

by:

Better quality than the one I replaced!
Delivered
on time.
Easy to install.

by:

Excellent product I used to replace my damaged level for my 26 ft pull behind! It’s smoothe operation works with my cordless drill And the bolt holes lined up to my old one from KZ Connect! I had to return 2 that I tried from [online] because they were frozen closed when I received them. They also did not have the bearing between the main bolt head and scissor frame! Comforting to see a design made for the user and not the seller!

by:

Ordering was easy and delivery was way faster than expected! The Jacks are well made and I am very pleased with my whole experience. I will be recommending etrailer.com to my family and friends!

by:

Just what I ordered

by:

One of the jacks on my Sunline camper (trailer) was bent while moving the trailer across uneven ground. I bought the scissor jack to replace it about a year ago. It is constructed with heavy enough materials to do the job of keeping the camper firm. I don’t like it when the camper rocks and rolls when you step into it! It was fairly simple to install. Of course, because it is new it cranks up and down smoothly. Hopefully I won’t need to buy another but I’ll buy one like it if I ever bend another one.

by:

This jack is exactly what I needed to replace a broken jack on my travel trailer. I installed the jack using existing holes in the frame of the trailer. The jack is sturdy and well designed; it is easy to lower and raise using a crank.

by:

You shipped faster than I thought. Great service.

by:

The stabilizers were very easy to install. After installation, I set the camper up and the stabilizers worked very well. Once inside, the camper felt sturdy, moreso than with the jacks and blocks of wood we used previously. It would have been nice had the bolts, lock nuts, and the tool used to raise and lower the stabilizer been included. Other than that, I am very satisfied with the purchase. It was a good price for this item.

by:

I always use etrailer.com. Boat jet ski enclosed utility trailer and camper. They always have the parts you need at a great price. If you do it yourself it’s a must to shop etrailer. Most recent purchase was delayed due to COVID. They promptly contacted me about the shipping delay and offered another part that could be shipped sooner. No one does this!! I was not in a rush to get the part I ordered so I patiently waited for delivery. I could not be happier with the service and selection from etrailer.com

by:

Fits great, actually looks heavier than original equipment.

by:

They work very well. Made a big difference in the ones that came with our camper.

by:

Very nice works really good. Bolts rite up

by:

I was looking for a replacement jack for my trailer. I wanted to be able to match bolt holes, etc. for an easy exchange. This Jack fit in just fine with minor adjustments. It has worked fine this summer.

by:

I have purchased two scissor jacks from etrailer. The first one I inadvertently crunched shortly after I installed it. Completely my fault. This should go to show that I was satisfied enough with the first one to buy the exact same jack from the same company.

by:

I did not know that Levelers were larger than the one on my 2019 Forest River FSX 167rb. So I had to drill 4 holes for the 2 Levelers but it worked out. My mistake was that I did not read to see that it was not designed to lift the tires off the ground but to level the trailer. Aside from that you have been very helpful in answering questions that I have asked and the only parts distributor that I have dealt with. I will do business with you again.

Thanks for your support and be well

Jim Hayes

by:

Really easy to install, this leveling jack was a great replacement for the original equipment which had rusted badly. One year later still looks and performs great.

by:

etrailer shipped quickly but bought to facilitate tire changes lifting the frame. Trailer weighs just 6200 lbs, but needed 1/2" impact wrench to lift tire off the ground. As a stabilizer it would be fine but not the product I needed.

  • Need Scissor Jack with Mounting Holes on Top and Bottom to Raise and Lower a Frame
I recommend going with the Leveling Scissor Jack, # JSC-24-IND. This leveling scissor jack has a 5,000 pound capacity, adjusts from 4" to 24" inches, and has mounting holes on the top and bottom plates. Since this jack adjusts from 4 inches and you mentioned that you need a jack that retracts to less than 4 inches, I recommend that you take a quick measurement to make sure that you won't have any clearance issues. The Crank Handle for Scissor Jacks, # JCH-1, is sold separately.

The Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter # UF48-979005 can indeed be used with the Stromberg Carlson Leveling Scissor Jack # JSC-24-IND that you referenced and it will work well. This socket will be used with your power drill to extend or retract the scissor jack up to 10 times faster than with the standard manual crank. The leveling scissor jacks can be either welded or bolted to the trailer frame. A bolt-on installation will be a bit less permanent than welding the units, but...

  • Determining Which Leveling Scissor Jack Fits A 2017 Rockwood HW276 Tent Camper
The Leveling Scissor Jack - 24" Lift - 5,000 lbs # JSC-24-IND you were looking will likely work on your 2017 Rockwood HW276 Tent Camper, but you will need to verify that the amount of lift is correct for your specific trailer. The # JSC-24-IND has 24" of lift, so if from the bottom of the frame to the ground is less than 24" this will work perfectly. If you need more lift you can use the # JSC-30-IND instead.
