Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra waste valve extension rod kit. Now handle extensions are going to be a great way to extend the handle positioning on your RV's waste system to make things more accessible and easier to handle. These are going to be aluminum extension tubes. They can adjust up to 2". It's going to include the two most common extension sizes. You're going to have a 9" and 6", and the 6" can simply adjust up to 8".
It's got an internal threaded rod, so this potion is 6" long and then you have another 2" of adjustment. This one right here is 9" long and has up to 2" of adjustment with the internal threaded rod, so it can go up to 11". These handles are going to attach to the threaded stud. The handle is included, so basically the threaded stud is this potion here. It threads on. You can put it all the way down for the 9" extension, or you can turn it counter-clockwise and extend it.
Once you have the desired length, just tighten up that nut right there to kind of lock that into place. It's a really nice design. They're very easy to use, very easy to adjust. It's also going to come with the included and optional mounting bracket. That is there if you want to use that as well. The valve handle extension set arrived very timely and was of better quality than expected! I initially just needed to replace a broken pull/push handle, but when I saw there was a valve handle extension set available, I decided to upgrade my current situation and bring my valve handles out closer to the edge of the trailer thereby making it easier for me to reach them. Installation was a breeze and the new location of the gray & black water valve handles is much more convenient and easier to reach. The adjustable feature of the extension also helped to dial the length in to just the right location!

Normally I might give a 3 or 4 star review although this product solved a somewhat unusual situation. The handle that went missing vibrated off and bounced off the wheel well and in to the tire causing a blowout and damage to the under belly of the trailer. The RV repair shop fixed the damage and replaced the valve handle. The next RV trip we took the handle once again vibrated off luckily missing the tire etc. This product hopefully solved the problem. I took the threaded stud and nut off the long extension and put it on the other end of the short extension and attached the handle. The valve shaft is threaded and has a threaded coupler style nut so I was able to thread the short extension rod in to the threaded coupler. Since there is locking nut on both ends of the new extension, along with some Loctite, everything should stay as is. A five star fix.

We used these on our old RV and when we got our new one, this was one of the first things we ordered as having these extensions make using the dump much easier than having to get down on your knees and reach for the pulls for the Black Water and Gray Water.

The Valterra Waste Valve Extension Rod Kit is working out great. It is still attached to our RV, although we did use Locktite when installing it.
