These calipers were a perfect replacement for my original discontinued Atwood CL calipers. The pads and piston seal look like they’re excellent quality. Thanks to e-trailer for their tech support and easy to order process. Communication from them while product was being shipped to Canada was appreciated as well. Thanks again!

Once again etrailer came through for me! While performing brake and suspension maintenance on my 2019 Grand Design 337RLS I found one of my brake calipers was leaking fluid and the inside pad was virtually gone. Leaving for an extended trip in 4 days. etrailer got me a new caliper express shipped and after installing I have some breathing room before departure! Thank you again etrailer!!!

by:

These replaced original TDE 46304 on boat trailer I’m refurbishing. Fit and ops check good so far on a 45 MPH test drive.

by:

Perfect fit on my 2004 MasterCraft tandem axle trailer. Drop in replacement for the "Reliable" calipers that were on there.
Incredibly fast shipping, came loaded with pads and all the hardware needed to bolt them right up and bleed them. Couldnt be happier!

So, it looks like our customer service department has been made aware and is issuing a refund for the shipping. Im sorry to hear that it didnt arrive on time.

by:

This is actually the second time I purchased one of these calipers. The first time was about a month back when one froze on me due to water in the brake system. Of course this happened the day before I was going on vacation.
While very happy with the quality of the caliper it was the customer service that was most impressive. I called in a panic in the early afternoon to see if I could get the part overnight. The sales consultant went way beyond what he could have done and hand delivered my order to shipping department so it would get out yet that day.
My point here is that you can buy good parts anywhere on the web these days but the reason I came back and will keep coming back was the service I got (get) from eTrailer's employees. That extra effort allowed me to leave on time for vacation with my family.
Oh and yeah Kodiak makes good stuff. Everything installed well and is working great. Thank you!

The calipers have been great and still working strong, very Pleased.

by:

Boat trailer caliper was seized and causing the brakes to overheat. Headed over to etrailer.com since they seem to have the best part selection and easiest website to navigate.

I purchased a caliper that came with pads pre-installed (https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Kodiak/KDBC225DAC.html) and a rotor (https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Kodiak/KR12D.html).

Installation went smoothly. I'll be back for the other side when it's time.

Easy product search process. Easy order process. Fast delivery.

by:

Perfect replacement. And thanks for the quick shipping.

by:

I bought these for my '05 Mastercraft (Reliable) trailer. They were a direct replacement for the originals. They came loaded with new pads and will fit either side. All the fittings were already installed and new mounting bolts were included which made installing them quick and easy. Great product at a great price.

by:

I ordered Dakota 225 brake caliper. It worked as it should. The problem is that I had bought two calipers and two rotors 3 years ago from E trailer and installed them. They worked but on seized up (would not release from the rotor) and overheated. I had to place the overide pin in my surge actuator and drive tow the boat and trailer .
I would think the caliper would last more than three years with less than 25 trips to the lake.

by:

Stacy A was very helpful. Extremely knowledgeable
Great service
Thank you

by:

I ordered new Kodiak 225 caliper to replace the frozen one on my boat trailer, which I use in Puget sound area. The part came as advertised, quick delivery no hassel no problems. I upgraded to a more salt resistant caliper. Use stainless if you can afford it

Etrailer service outstanding

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Disc Brakes that Won't Activate Although Actuator Moves Fluid
First step I would try is bleeding the brakes. It sounds like you have an air bubble that needs to just be worked out of the lines and then the brakes should start working again. I attached a help article on bleeding trailer brakes too. First top off the master cylinder with appropriate fluid. Next you will want to pump the fluid from the master cylinder. You can do this by unbolting the plate that holds the lever in place and then use that lever to actuate the master cylinder and force...

  • Replacement Disc Brake Caliper for Reliable CL-1000
The specs listed for the # KDBC225DAC Kodiak caliper I found online match up with those of the Reliable CL-1000. Either would be compatible with a 3500 to 6000 lb axle but because it hasn't been officially tested, If I were in your shoes I'd replace both calipers to ensure you're getting the exact same braking on each side for the sake of safety. We don't have a rebuild kit known to be compatible with the Reliable CL-1000 caliper.

Yes we do. The calipers and brackets for the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit item # K2R35D can be purchased separately. The caliper is item # KDBC225DAC and the brackets are item # KCMB10RD. I have linked a diagram of the bracket for the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit item # K2R35D along with an installation video. We do not have one with a 2-3/8" top to bottom hole spacing or 3-1/8" side to side.

  • Will Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Work With Trailer Surge Brake System
The Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper # KDBC225DAC is designed to be used with a surge brake system so yes, it will work with your trailer setup. Just make sure that your axle is rated for 3,500 - 6,00 lbs, that your rotor diameter is 10" or 12", and that the caliper mounting flange bolt holes measure 5-3/4" on center where the caliper will be installed. Attached is a review video for you to check out.

  • Replacement Surge Brake Actuator and Calipers for 2001 Four Winns Boat Trailer
The direct replacement for your Titan Model 6 4079200 is the # T4079200. However, you have disc brakes on your trailer, not drum brakes. For a replacement designed for drum brakes you can use the # T4750820 which is the Model 10 and replaced the Titan 4750820. This has a 12,500 lb capacity and also fits a 3" channel. For replacement calipers you will need to know the axle capacity as well as the brand. For example, if you have 3,500 lb axles with Kodiak brakes you can use the # KDBC225DAC....

  • Bleeding Trailer Brakes After Installing Kodiak 225 Disc Brake Calipers
When you bleed the brakes on your trailer after installing the Kodiak Calipers # KDBC225DAC, you will want to start with the brake that is furthest away from the actuator. Of the two bleeder valves, you will want to use the bleeder valve that is on the top. If you are manually bleeding the brakes, it is easiest to use a clear jar to collect the brake fluid in so it is easier to see when there are no more bubbles in the fluid. Be sure to open the top bleeder valve when you are bleeding...

  • Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Replacement Parts
The Kodiak 225 calipers # KDBC225S fit 3,500 lb 10 inch assemblies as well as 12 inch rotors up to 5,200 lbs. The 204 calipers fit 3,500 lb axles with 10 inch assemblies. The 225 calipers are more prominent than the 204 calipers but they are not directly interchangeable. I reached out to my contact at Dexter (who bought out Kodiak) and he said the mounting locations are slightly different and the piston size is different with the 204 model being roughly a 2 inch diameter piston and the...

  • How to Determine Right Hand and Left Hand Brake For Disc Brake Caliper Installation
Yes, you would look at the trailer from the rear to determine right hand or left hand. The terms right hand and left hand come from right turn and left turn. The right hand brake is on the right side as if you were making a right turn. The Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper, # KDBC225DAC, can be used on either side. Kodiak designed the caliper so that there are multiple bleeder valves allowing you to switch them depending on which side you need the caliper on. .

  • Troubleshooting Surface Rust on Trailer Brake Rotors
Theoretically if you just have some surface rust on your rotors it would be knocked off after a drive that included a couple solid braking events. If you still notice rust on the rotors after towing the trailer then this could indeed be an indication that there's an issue with the brakes or simply that the rust you found is a bit deeper than surface level. If the rotors are badly rusted then your best option is just to replace them completely. I have attached a link that will take you...
