Tech Tip: The OEM plug in your vehicle is located under the dashboard to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency-brake pedal.
This brake-control wiring adapter will simplify the installation of your Hopkins electric brake controller. Once the brake controller is installed, the harness then plugs into a port under the dash. Because your vehicle has a factory tow package, all the wires for the brake controller have already been run from the 7-way trailer connector at the back of the truck to the plug under the dash. If your vehicle does not have a factory 7-way, additional wiring will be necessary to complete installation.

below column and look for connectors that plug into new harness

I bought the insight brake controller with the Hopkins plug and play wiring adapter and I'm so happy i did it truest is a plug and play at first I looked at everything and thought I hope this works but I had watched the install video which was spot on I installed everything in less than an hour and it works GREAT!! Thank you

Fit great and works perfectly. Took about 5 minutes to install. My truck is a 2013 5.7 Hemi. I found the large plug down low just under dash above gas pedal. The smaller single red wire plug was up at the top of the brake pedal assembly.

haven't needed it yet but so far so good everything plugged right in with the right wire harness (sold separate) every thing seems to be working correctly I haven't needed it yet so I guess well see how it really does.

Couldnt find the adapter wire any where in town so bought both threw here and fast shipping and accurate product 20 installed and pulled trailer highly recommend etrailer I will be back on site for sure thanks guys

Whatever other source you are looking at is misinformed. The 2013 and 2014 Rams do have a different electrical system called the Powernet which is a multiplex system. This required a unique wiring harness design with 2 plugs that plug into the vehicle instead of just one like other harnesses. The HM53055 harness does have the 2 plugs and will function properly.
