This Advent Air AC unit lets you replace an old or broken air conditioner on your RV or camper. It works with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box, and it is compatible with Coleman Mach or Carrier setups if used with an adapter wiring kit (ACCOLKIT, ACCARKIT - sold separately). The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. And everything you need in order to replace or add an AC unit is included, which makes installation simple and easy.

Simple Installation

Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple and easy. Most AC units, including this one, are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.

Advent Air AC Collapsible Gasket and Foam Pads

On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't needed. Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

And in order to fully complete installation, this AC needs to be paired with your existing Advent Air, Dometic, Coleman Mach, or Carrier air distribution box and thermostat. Please note that an adapter wiring kit (sold separately) is needed if you are replacing a Coleman Mach or Carrier air conditioner.

Additional Accessories

Additional accessories can be purchased separately to improve the performance of your Advent Air AC unit. The start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) improves the performance of your AC by using stored energy to jumpstart it. And the electric heat strip (ACMHD) removes the chill on cold or frosty mornings in your RV, ensuring you stay comfortable. Please note that the heat strip will only work on Advent Air AC units.

Advent Air Warranty Coverage

2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.

If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), youll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

I couldn't be more disappointed in this unit. I initially bought as an alternative to a 15k ducted Dometic unit that went bad and quit cooling in my 2018 Heartland Bighorn. The description at the time said it was a direct replacement and was 1/3 the price so I bought it. Like a lot of others, it showed up with a damaged cover. etrailer says they'll ship a new one when they get back in stock so that's no big deal. The issues began when I started the install. I got my old unit off the roof and the new one up. The footprint is considerably smaller so all the old mounting holes fell outside the gaskets area so I had holes to patch in my roof. The cutout size was exact, but there was no center divider to separate the return air from the supply air so I had to make one of those too. I went to hook up the wiring and, lo and behold, the control box wasn't included and wasn't compatible with my Dometic unit and there isn't an adapter available. Back to etrailer to order the control box I needed. Finally figured out how to rewire my camper to match the new box (again, no adapters or instructions are available) and found out my Dometic thermostat isn't compatible with the new control box. Finally sourced one from Amazon since etrailer doesn't sell it and got that installed a few days ago. Turned everything back on and it started to run. Checked all 3 fan speeds and everything seemed to be working good. It was 87 in the camper after sitting in the Spring sun of South Carolina all day. Let it run on high for an hour and a half and went back out to check on things. It had only dropped to 84 degrees! It's not even remotely hot outside yet. The air was coming out cool, just very little volume. If this is how it's going to be this thing is getting ripped back off and I'll bite the bullet and buy a Dometic again.

Long story summed up - compatible doesn't mean anything and upgrade is a complete lie. This is the first time I've truly been let down by etrailer.

I am surprised that the install was so complicated. I wanted to ask if your Dometic AC unit had the control box built into the unit?

by:

Shipping was free and fast , ac arrived in great condition will continue to order from etrailer.com and tracking was simple thank you all for your hard work installed it on my rv and works great.

by:

George this was an excellent replacement for our original ac unit. We don't use it much but it works when we need it. We would definitely buy another when the time comes. Etrailer was helpful in our decision.

Great folks to deal with!
Dealt with
Alex by phone, easy to understand, friendly and knowledgeable. When product arrived with possible shipping issues he was quick to make it right. The unit functions great and was priced right. Highly recommend and will be shopping here again when I need something next time.Thanku Alex!

by:

This was an easy swap, 4 bolts and one plug made it easy. Spent more time cleaning all the junk from under the old unit that was bigger than this one. UPS was a bit rough on the box and had a dent in the side of the unit but didn't hurt anything inside. This replaced our old Duo Therm on our 2007 Starcraft 5th.

by:

Very cheap had to make braces to keep motor from moving. wiring didn't match up. It works but thats about it.

by:

Easy installation and works great so fa r!

by:

Great AC. Good replacement for the dom etic!

by:

The first unit that I got failed within two weeks of service So far this new unit is working. The staff at etrailer has been great to deal with they were able to get this new unit shipped ASAP If I wasn't working though warranty with ASA I don't believe I would have purchased another Advent. So far the process with ASA has not been bad three phone calls and hold time of only about an hour and a half and countless emails and I'm thankful that I was able to get in contact with a person that has been a lot of help. So we will see if I get reimbursed for the falty unit.

by:

The advent ac hooked up to the existing set up of the Dometic ac. No problems. Install was very easy. Completely satisfied!

I have had this for a year and I am a full-time RVer. So far this unit has met or exceeded my expectations.

by:

The quick delivery service was great but like other reviews I read my unit came damaged. The shroud was broken in 2 places and the compressor cap was broken also. But instead of going through the hassle of trying to return it I decided to glue the pieces back together. Again, company service was great. Pics included

by:

Looks great, have yet to install. Did not come with any manual or installation of warranty paperwork.

by:

The ac and your service were amazing. Only problem is that when I installed the unit it’s still not blowing cold air. That’s not your problem I’m sure the unit you sold me is fine. I obviously didn’t do my homework properly. I’m sure I’ll be contacting you for more parts. Thanks.

by:

Was easy to install. Works great.

It works perfectly!

by:

This unit replaced our Dometic A/C with the CCC2 thermostat. The Advent harness plunged directly into the power supply. The only thing I did extra was took off the old outside temp sensor on the Dometic and placed it on the Advent unit. We were receiving an E4 error on the thermostat until I did that. So far so good. 90deg outside and we keep it at 75 with no problems. Only time will tell.

by:

First off Amy with customer service was great to deal with the unit was easy to install and works great after my 2 year old dometic died on us I called etrailer and asked about a direct replacement for my dometic duotherm they recommended this one and so far it works great and has a 2 year warranty.

by:

Very easy install. Took less than 1 hour with 3 people and a tractor. Used the tractor to lift the new unit to the roof and haul out the old unit (cause I’m lazy). 2 guys on the roof one guy inside working the 4 bolts that hold it all together. Exact plug and play for the old ‘07 dometic duo therm.
New unit has been running for 3 days now in 95 degrees Heat and it’s wonderful

I recommend removing the shroud of your Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150B and just checking to make sure the drip pan drain holes aren't being blocked by anything so that the water drains out on the roof instead of inside of your trailer. It's not unheard of but it really shouldn't be dripping that much inside of your trailer.
