Video Transcript for Review of Flint Hill Goods - Serrated Hex Flange Nut - 185917

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the M8-1.25 steel zinc-plated serrated hex flange nut. This is for a quantity of one. Now, this can be used on the Chevrolet and GMC trucks to connect the factory run 12-volt lead and the trailer brake power lead to the post in the fuse box under the hood. This nut is a steel construction, has a nice sink-plated finish to it. It is a class eight grade serrated flange nut.

The size again we mentioned is M8-1.25 coarse thread, and the hex head size is 13 millimeters. But that should do it for the review on this M8-1.25 steel zinc-plated serrated hex flange nut.

Fits as needed for installing a trailer brake on a 2013 Yukon

by:

Well, it's a nut. Not much that can go wrong. Used this on my GMT400 Yukon. (1996 Yukon) for the AUX post in the fuse box for installing my trailer brake controller and to get AUX power for the trailer plug.

by:

The item that arrived did NOT fit the stud in my engine compartment for the factory wiring for brake controller on my 2013 GMC Yukon- the nut that arrived was about three times larger than needed- I called to report this, spoke with Ashley and there was no answer how to get the correct nut needed

  • Trailer Brake Controller Wiring Guide For A 2013 GMC Yukon
Sure thing! I have attached the article below that goes into detail about how you can install a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 on your 2013 GMC Yukon. Additionally, since GM does not supply the attaching nut required to secure the wires to the studs. You'll need 1 Zinc Plated Hex Flange Nut # 185916 & 1 Zinc Plated Hex Flange Nut # 185917.

  • Which Nuts Needed to Complete Brake Controller Connections At Fuse Box on 2007 GMC Sierra New Body
There are two threaded studs on the front of the power distribution box (closest to the front bumper) that will need to have the 12-V feed to the trailer connector and the power feed to the brake controller connected if they aren't already. As you've likely found, GM decided to save the $ 0.25 it would have cost them to supply the nuts needed to secure the wires to the studs. Both studs are different sizes, you'll need a M6-1.0 nut which we carry as part # 185916 and an M8-1.25 nut which...

  • Wiring Pattern for a 7-Way RV Trailer Connector on a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Without Factory Wiring
To install a 7-Way wiring connector at the rear of your 2001 Chevrolet Silverado without a factory 7-Way or a factory 4-Way connector, I recommend using the 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket and wiring harness, # HM40975-11998. You can the wire most of the circuits needed to the wiring harness that is located above the spare tire along the driver side frame rail. The wiring above the spare has a yellow wire for the left turn and brakes, dark green wire for the right turn and brakes,...

  • No Power On Trailer Battery Circuit In 7-Way on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe
The first thing I will have you do is check the studs on your power distribution center (PDC) or otherwise known as the fuse box. These studs are to supply power to a brake controller (if equipped) or to the 7-way for 12 volt power. The issue we see is that many times they are not connected from the factory. The 12 volt power lead for the 7-way is located to the left of the power distribution center, taped to a wire harness under the power brake booster. In order to attach this you will...

One of the wires is located between the under hood fuse box and the left (driver) side fender. The other is...

Yes, you will need to connect two wires under the hood of your 2011 GMC Yukon XL to wire a brake controller to your vehicles brake controller circuitry. The orange wire from the rudimentary tow package on the 1995 Silverado ends in the engine compartment, under the brake booster (see photo). • Interior Trailer Lights Not Working When Connected to a 2011 GMC Sierra Denali
The interior dome lights on your trailer likely run off of either a trailer mounted battery or directly off of the 12 volt circuit from the trailer connector (if it uses a 7-Way connector). If they connect to a battery then check to see if the battery is good, needs a charge, or needs to be replaced. To keep a trailer battery charged and maintained I recommend hooking it up to a CTEK battery charger, # CTEK56353, which will charge and recondition a battery. If the lights don't run off...
