Video Transcript for Review of Dexter Axle Trailer Brakes - Replacement Post and Bushing - DX32FR Review

Jeff Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the replacement anchor post and bushing assembly for the 3,500 lb Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes with the parking brake. This is for quantity of one post and bushing assembly. Now this will replace the anchor posting bushing assembly that's on the driver's or passenger side Dexter electric 3,500 pound trailer brake assembly with the parking brake. Now those brake assemblies, we do sell separately on a website it's part number K23-086-00 or K23-087-00. This part here, this is the anchor post and the bushing on the inside, which is installed on the electric brakes that feature a parking brake feature.

Basically this post is installed at the top of the brake assembly, and it's where the pivot pin and cam assembly will slide into the bushing. And then the parking brake lever threads onto the back of the pin and cam assembly. Now that pin and cam assembly is sold separately. I happen to pull one here, just so you know what we're talking about. And again, it's listed on this product page as a related product, but when this is installed through the bushing, you can see that allows it to rotate.

And then on the very back of your brake assembly you'll see this small threaded portion. That's what your parking brake lever will screw on to. So when the parking brake is applied, the lever then you pull on that lever, it'll rotate the pin and cam assembly, which in turn will manually apply the brake shoes to the drum for breaking when your trailer is parked. And again, that item is sold separately. The thread size on this post is 3/4 inch by 16 and it is a fine thread size.

But that should do it for the review on the replacement anchor post and bushing assembly for 3,500 pound Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes with the parking brake..
