Video Transcript for Bulldog Winch Electric Winch BDW20205 Review

Today we're going to review part number BDW20205. This is the Bulldog Fully Assembled Front Wiring Kit. This kit will provide a power connection for your wench at the front of your vehicle. Right here, this part that goes on your vehicle is designed to . The wires are long enough to run from the battery in your vehicle to the front grill of the vehicle. This is fully assembled right here.

The wires you can see, the black and the red wires, are each about 7 1/2 feet in length. The red one is your power wire. The black one will be your ground wire. They do have the looped ends, the connectors on them, made to hook to your battery post. The red wire, being your power wire, would go to your positive post.

Your black is your negative ground, would go to your negative side of your battery. Now, also, included is this nice dust cover with a wire tether for the vehicle side. When you're not connected to your wench, you can just put this on. It helps protect the terminals from any of the elements. Now, the gauge size on both the power and the ground is 2 gauge wire size. This kit also comes with the other half of the connector, right here.

It comes with the two halves. One's already installed for the vehicle. This one's for your wench. What you'd want to do is .. It comes with these two high grade copper terminals that are silver plated.

They are designed to accept a wire gauge size of anywhere from 0 gauge up to 4 gauge wire. Your wires from your wench will go into here with them connected. All you have to do is put them in here with the wire connected. Make sure you get your positive and negative in the right one. Then just push it all the way in. You'll hear them click into place. Do the other one. You put the hook down. Put it in there with the wire attached. Push it all the way in. Now your terminals are ready to go. This would be onto your wench. When you go to hook your wench to the front of your vehicle, just go ahead and pull off the dust cap. It's on there pretty snug. This will be from your wench. All you have to do is line it up. Go ahead and line them up. Push it right in. It has a very nice, snug, weatherproof connection. Then you can operate your wench from the front of your vehicle. When you want to remove your wench off the vehicle, just disconnect it, just like that. Go ahead and put your dust cover back on. Then this will be attached to your wench. Very simple installation. Also, you'll notice it does come with some cables, extra cable ties, to help secure any length of wire that might be hanging down. That should do it for the review on part number BDW20205, the Bulldog Fully Assembled Front Wiring Kit. .

Great setup. I love being able to quick connect my winch, jumper cables and inverter, and not having to mess with the hood and battery anymore. Next project is to run a second one to the rear.

A year later and everything is working just as well as the day Ive installed it. No more messing around under the hood. Ive since about a few more quick connect ends for other accessories, all work great.

Hi quality product, better than I expected. Also reasonably priced. It will be a quality accessory added to the vehicle and be interchangeable to the next vehicle I purchase. Thanks etrailer for making my shopping easier. AND Talk about quick service and delivery all 5 Star for me. I purchased both front and rear hook ups for my winch or other things that will need power and they are both just what the doctor ordered.

by:

Will give me a good way to mount a removable winch on my truck. I have use before and they work well.

  • Winch Recommendation to Pull a 2010 Ford F-250 Super Duty Out of Mud
I strongly recommend getting the highest capacity winch possible to pull your 2010 Ford F-250 Super Duty out of mud. I would not rely on a 1,500 or 3,000 lb winch to pull your truck out of mud. Keep in mind that when your truck is stuck and you want to use a winch to pull it out, you are pulling the weight of the truck plus the weight of the mud and any additional force against the truck that is created by the mud. All of the front mounted hitches that we carry for your truck have a 9,000...

  • What Quick Connects Do I Need to Install Quick Connect On My Bulldog Winch
It sounds like you're looking for the quick disconnect that goes on the cables of your winch. • Winch Wiring Harness Kit For Multiple Vehicles
There are a few things you will need to consider when determining which kit to purchase. The size of the winch and the length of cable you will need are two factors that you will need to now before purchasing. Both Bulldog and Superwinch use different gauge cables for their kits. The larger your winch's pull capacity that you want to install, the larger...

  • Can Bulldog Winch Wiring Kit Keep Charge on Trailer Battery
You can provide a maintenance charge to your battery with the Bulldog Winch Rear Wiring Kit # BDW20206 and # BDW20205 but there is a better way to keep this maintenance charge, which is to run 10 gauge wiring from 12 volt pin of your trailer's 7-way to the battery. If you have a 7-way all you would need to do is run the correct length of (sold by the foot) 10 Gauge Primary Wire # 10-1-1. You will run this wire from the 7-way to the positive terminal on the trailer battery and ground the...

  • Recovery Winch Recommendation for a 2003 Ford F-250 Diesel
The Talon Series Winch, # SW1612201, that you referenced is a large winch and may be overkill for your truck. The Talon winches are high-performance recovery winches that they will have a faster line pull, an adjustable clutch, an upgraded remote and they offer a synthetic rope option that will not bind or fray like the steel cables. For your 2003 Ford F-250 Diesel, I recommend looking at the Rock 98 Off-Road Winch, # SW1698201. We have installed this on a 2004 F-250 and made a demonstration...
