Review for customer service only, have not used the chargers yet. Stay tuned.
Website had some minor glitches on the "Payment" link, but contacted the Customer Service # and purchase was completed in quick, friendly manner. Will continue to use etrailer.com for trailer / RV parts.

Despite several falls to the ground, bad weather and blistering sun, the chargers have help up well and are still producing a consistent trickle charge to the baatteries. Wont help discharged batteries, but work well with good charged batteries.

I have a dump trailer and when I’m not using it, I connect the solar panel so the battery doesn’t run dead. It’s been working great.

Still Great , same battery it’s done it’s job!

by:

This solar battery charger has done a great job keeping my snowmobile battery charged all summer long. The area my trailer is parked in only gets direct sunlight for part of the day but the solar panel still takes in enough sunlight to get the job done even in partial shade. I made a frame and stand that the solar panel mounts to and attached the assembly to my trailer, the whole assembly is easily removable. I plan to get a few more of these for keeping other batteries charged like the one in my boat and my spare vehicles.

by:

Excellent product. I put this charger on my dump trailers and it keeps the battery topped off even after extensive use. I definitly recommend this product.

by:

Excellent product. Works great and is an awesome addition for any recharging needs.

by:

I love this small solar panel. Using it to keep my Rv battery tapped off over the winter. It worked perfectly last winter.

by:

Had to wait 3 months for item to be in stock. When it did finally ship it was dead on arrival. Extremely poor quality. Do not recommend.

After the longer wait I can understand that you wanted to use it right away. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you to assist.

This still works great 1 year later. I have it hooked up to a remote battery that operates the electric jack on my equipment trailer. I have not had 1 issue with the battery being too low to lower/raise my trailer for attachment to my truck.

by:

Using this charger on my RV. It only keeps the batteries up for a week or ten days. I'm disappointed in this system.

I know that this charge is meant to trickle charge the batteries. I was not sure by what you meant with it only keeps the batteries up for week. Can you explain in more detail?

by:

product does exactly as advertised. Nice unit!!

by:

The product has been working great

by:

I just installed it. That was easy.

But
it didn't come with any instructions. The LED is blinking, so I don't know if that is good or bad. I'll have to come back in a week to see if the batteries got charged or not.

The LED blinking means that it is doing its job!

Excellent product- great service

by:

I have had this on a utility trailer for the past year to keep power tools charged. It has been great. Just outfitted a 2nd trailer with the same system.

by:

Didnt charge

by:

excellent service & product

by:

Well I finally got the panel mounted on a removeable holder much like the picture on your web site. Once I recharged my RV battery to full charge this panel has had no problem keeping the battery charged while not in use. I highly recommend this panel for this purpose.

by:

Works great! We put it on a tilt bed trailer that we use for our UTV and ever since we installed it we have not had a dead battery. The battery usually dies over the winter but not this year! We will be ordering more in the near future for more trailers.

by:

Works great, easy install

by:

Picked this solar charger for 2 reasons, first was the price....second was the 7.5 volt charge vs 5.0 like most others. This was easy to setup and with the Arizona sun, it keeps my 12 v battery charged for my winch and power jack. I bought a second one for my other trailer

by:

Just what the Doc. ordered..This little thing is great, bought it for a dump trailer about a year ago and I have not had any trouble with the battery since. A good hot battery when you get to the trash dump is a must, unloading by hand is a pain. I plan to buy more for other equipment, lawnmower, chipper, tractor its just a great battery maintenance tool for your battery.

by:

It worked just as expected and was a high quality choice from etrailer. It was nice that this site didn’t have a million options to choose from and this one works!

by:

Fast shipping on a great product. Looking forward to seeing how it works out !

by:

haven't tried yet but looks good

  • I Need a Battery To Operate The Jacks On My Slide In Truck Camper
I recommend a Bright Way Deep Cycle RV Battery # BRW34FR. This AGM battery is sealed and does not require the maintenance of a traditional lead acid battery. When not in use it is important to provide a battery charge maintainer to ensure the battery voltage does not drop to low. A Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR will provide up to 7.5 watts of charge from the sun. A Snap-Top Battery Box with Strap # 329-HM300BKS will protect the battery from the elements as well as provide...

  • Recommended Solar Panel to Charge a Breakaway Battery
Yes, there is! You can use the 2.5-Watt Solar Battery Charger # PTW2997 you were looking at. However, this has alligator clamps so it will be a bit more difficult. A better option would be to install the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger item # BRW54FR due to it having terminal rings. The connections won't come disconnected while you are using your trailer. Your breakaway battery just needs to be a 12-volt battery with at least 5 amp-hours.

  • Winch Boat Hoist and Charging Recommendations For Marine Applications
I recommend using a winch with a synthetic rope. Since you'll be by the water when using this winch, it won't rust over time. This winch # BDW15018 has 3,400 lbs of capacity so it should be plenty for what you need. I use a Optima Marine battery for any application needing a 12V battery. These are the best in my experience. Since this winch has a 12V motor, I recommend using an optima marine 12V. Since you're boating, I presume that it will be at least overcast out and not storming, if...

  • How Do I Keep My Trailers Break Away Battery Charged When In Storage?
For maintaining your trailer battery I recommend using a Duracell Battery Charger and Maintainer # DU87FR. This will plug into a standard wall outlet and charge/maintain your battery to help extend the battery life. If you park your trailer where you do not have easy access to power the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR can be used to charge the battery. This can be mounted to part of the trailer and is also easily removable with the 2 prong in line plug. If you store your...

  • Can BRW77FR Be Wired To The Battery In Conjunction With A Solar Charger
The problem to watch out for, is not the voltage, it's the current (cfm). If your battery recommends 30a max charge current and both of your chargers are rated at 15a, you're good to use them both at the same time. If your chargers are both 30a units, then you could damage your battery. Since both the Solar # BRW54FR and wall charger # BRW77FR are 7.5 Watts I don't see there being an issue. The wall charger has a cut off when the batter is fully charged and the solar will maintain the the...

  • Will 7.5 Amp Bright Way Solar Battery Charger Keep Group 24 Battery Topped Off During Storage
Hey Sean! As long as you don't have anything placing a draw on the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR, and the 4-6 hours of sunlight is unrestricted then this kit will be just fine for keeping your Group 24 battery topped off.

  • Will the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger Work with Two Separate Batteries
The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger part # BRW54FR is for a single battery or a single bank of batteries (12 Volt Only). If you have multiple batteries or multiple battery banks then you'd need to hook up a solar panel to each depending on your goal and power needs.

  • Does Red Indicator Light Blink When Bright Way Solar Battery Charger is Charging
It looks like the red LED on the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger - 7.5 Watt Solar Panel # BRW54FR is actively blinking when it's charging the battery so if it's still on then that would indicate it's sending a charge. It's worth noting that this setup is a trickle charger which basically means it's designed to keep your battery topped off during storage. If you're wanting something that has a bit more power as well as a way to monitor and adjust the charge power I recommend checking out...

  • Solar Panel Battery Charger
The perfect solution is the Bright Way # BRW54FR Solar Battery Charger. Small, cost effective, versatile and easily up to the job. I personally installed this charger on my trailer last October and it kept the batteries (two 6-volt, 235 Amp Hour) topped off all winter long. Lots of options for installation. Comes with it's own inline charge controller. Just hook up to batteries - face towards sun - all done.

  • Troubleshooting Battery Draining With Bright Way Solar Battery Charger Installed
The Bright Way Solar Battery Charger # BRW54FR would not be able to drain the battery on your gooseneck trailer. Something else must be draining the battery while it is hooked up. This is designed to trickle charge and keep your battery topped off. If something else is pulling power, it will outpace any charging from the solar panel and might appear as though this is draining the battery.

We do carry a solar battery charger that is lithium compatible, but the Bright way # BRW54FR you mentioned cannot be used with lithium batteries. This one is a trickle charger putting out about 7.5 watts which is good for any battery with 5 amp hours or more. • Portable Solar Panel Charger for Charging RV Batteries During Day
That amount of amperage/wattage that the two charger kits you mentioned are capable of really wouldn't be adequate to charge a depleted battery. Especially in a day as they are more designed to keep a battery topped off in storage more than anything. These both can put out up to 7.5 watts. You'd want something with more output than that like the Goal Zero Boulder Briefcase Kit part # 287-32408 which is rated for 100 watts.

The panel would mount on the exterior of the camper and then with the included wire you'd run it to your battery.
