EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Ford Fusion- Video

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Ford Fusion

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Eco Hitch trailer hitch receiver on a 2016 Ford Fusion. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Fusion, and the great part is this is a hidden cross-tube, so all that you're gonna see is the two-inch by two-inch receiver tube opening, and even the safety chain loops are nice and tidy here, so it gives it a pretty clean look while still being able to use a two-inch by two-inch, which is kind of the standard size for hitches. So when it comes to bike racks, cargo carriers, or even ball mounts, you're gonna have tons of options to be able to load up on your Fusion. Now all of those accessories are gonna stay in place with a 5/8th pin and clip, and this is not included with the hitch. A lot of times, when you pick up accessories, they'll have one included, so something to look for if you're also choosing accessories. And if you want a locking pin and clip, those are really nice, too, if you plan on leaving your accessories on the vehicle, that way you can lock it in place and no one can just walk away with whatever you have loaded up. more

Best 2016 Ford Fusion Trailer Hitch

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2016 Ford Fusion. Up top here we're gonna have a curt, which is gonna be a class II hitch. And then right below that we're gonna have a draw-tite, which is gonna be a class I.So, just looking at our hitches you can see how differently they're designed. Now the curt is gonna sit up behind our bumper, and all we're gonna see is the receiver tube sticking out. Whereas with the draw-tite, that cross tube is gonna be visible sitting right below our bumper. Now, since the curt is gonna sit up behind the bumper, it is gonna provide us with a little bit better ground clearance. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Ford Fusion - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2016 Ford Fusion we will be installing the Draw-Tite Sportframe, Class I, 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 24897. Here's what the hitch looks like once it's installed. As you can see, it's a really clean installation. You have this nice gloss, black powder-coat finish here, which hangs down below our bumper cover a little bit. It's got a nice angular V-shape to it, so it has a sporty appearance. This Class I, 1-1/4" receiver is tucked up behind our bumper cover, almost flush with it. A nice note about that, with it being almost flush like that, if you're loading into the trunk you really don't have to worry about running your knee into it quite as much as you would of some other ones that would stick out further. We have these really easy to use safety chain loops here to hook up the safety chains on our trailer. What's nice is they're not too thick, so even with the really small diameter safety chains will clip onto it really easily. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Ford Fusion - Curt

Today on our 2016 Ford Fusion, we'll be reviewing and installing the Curt custom-fit class II trailer hitch receiver, part number C12091. Here's what our hitch is going to look like once it's installed. You're going to see that it's going to be tucked up underneath the back side of the vehicle, and not visible, with exception to the 1 1/4-inch by 1 1/4-inch receiver tube, and your chain tie-downs. It's going to ave that 1/2-inch hole going all the way through, a fully-welded construction with that black powder coat finish to help prevent any kind of rust and corrosion, and it's going to be capable of carrying 350 pounds of ton weight and 3,500 pounds of gross trailer weight. Keep in mind that if you're going to be carrying anything that's non-trailer, such as your bike racks or cargo carriers, you're going to want to use stabilization straps. Also keep in mind that with this class 2 trailer hitch receiver, you also have your pin and clip included. Your drop bar will be sold separately. more
