Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Honda CR-V, we're going to be doing a test fit of our Kuat Transfer Two Bike Platform Rack. That's part number TS02B. This is our black model. We also have grey available, and that's part number TS02G. One of the nice things about this particular bike rack is that it has this easy to access latch here, so you can use either your hand or your foot. And that's going to allow us to tilt our bikes away, so we can access our rear hatch to get any of our cargo or our luggage that we have stored in the back of our vehicle. more

Today, on our 2012 Honda CRV, we'll be doing a test fit on the Kuat sherpa 2.0 platform-style 2 bike rack. That's part number SH22B. I've already got it loaded up on the CRV, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it secures our bikes. It actually secures our bikes in 2 spots. We have this large, wheel hook, going over our front wheel and putting down pressure to our front wheel cradle. Then, for the rear, we have the rear wheel strap, going over our rear wheel. more

Today on our 2012 Honda CR-V, we'll be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero 2 Bike Carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number TH9042. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the adapter into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up the pinhole and allow the attached pin to fall into place. Then we'll move to the rear of the shank and use the hand knob to secure our bike rack to our vehicle and to engage our anti-rattle device. Now we'll go over a few key measurements. We have about 13 inches of ground clearance. We've added about 16 inches to the overall length of our Honda CR-V. We'll pull the lever at the base of the mast to allow our carrier to tilt away from our vehicle. more

To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, lineup the pinhole, and install our pen and lock. Now we'll move to the rear of the shank and tighten the hand knob to secure our bike rack to our vehicle and engage our anti-rattle device. Now we'll go over some key measurements. We have about 12 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of our CRV is about two inches. more

Today on our 2012 Honda CRV well be test fitting the Yakima DoubleDown Ace 4 Bike Carrier part number Y02451. Now to begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes and insert our pin with the red knob into the pin holes and turn the black knob at the back side of the carrier to engage our anti-rattle device. Now that the carrier is secured to the vehicle, well go ahead and go over a few measurements. We have about 11-1/2 inches of ground clearance and the closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is bout 6-1/2 inches. With the cradle arms folded down weve added about 12 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. To access the cargo area, well lift up the red knob at the base of the carrier and tilt the mast down. more

Thule Apex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2012 Honda CRV, well be test fitting the Thule Apex Swing Four Bike Carrier, part number TH9027.We'll begin by sliding the bike rack shank into the hitch and allow the integrated locking hitch pin to fall into the pin hole. We can then move to the anti-rattle knob where we'll tighten down the knob, securing our bike rack to the vehicle.We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance for this bike rack is 12 and a half inches and the closest point of the bike rack to the back of our vehicle measures six inches. In its folded position, we add about 14 inches of additional length to the rear of our vehicle.Now we can go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the top of the mast and bring out our dual arms where we'll undo the straps to expose our cradles. We'll place the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around securing the bike to the bike rack.Now the advantage to the Apex Swing is that it does have the ability whether a bike is loaded on it or not, to swing out towards the passenger side of the vehicle, completely out of the way of the cargo area. We'll undo the knob here at the back of the mast where we can then pull the T-handle and begin swinging the bike rack out. more

To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes and then thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and tighten with a wrench. Now well go ahead and go over a few measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle come together. We have about 12 inches of ground clearance and the closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about 8-1/2 inches. With the cradle arms folded down weve added about 17 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. To access the cargo area well pull the pin at the bottom of the mast and tilt the carrier down. more

Alright, today on this 2012 Honda CRV were going to do a test fit of part #: TH 958 from Thule. One thing to know about this bicycle rack that it is designed for 2 inch receiver hitches only. Now well start off our test fit by installing our bike rack into the hitch, then well go ahead and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt. Then well go ahead and get a couple of clearance measurements. From the security loop on the bike rack to the bumper is going to be 4 inches, from the bumper to the end of the arms is going to be 24 inches and ground clearance is going to be 12 inches. Now well go ahead and tilt be bike rack back and check for access to the back of the vehicle. more

Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2012 Honda CRV were going to be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 bike carrier for 1 inch and 2 inch hitches part #: TH9025. With our vehicle equipped with a 2 inch hitch and our bike rack already preassembled we can go ahead and slide the bike rack shank directly into the receiver tube of the hitch lining up the hitch pinhole with the integrated locking hitch pin. Then well go ahead and take the hand knob and secure the bike rack to the hitch. As you can see with the hand knob tightened down it really takes out any movement between the bike rack and the vehicle. From the nearest point of the bumper to the nearest point of the hand knob on the bike rack shank is 3 inches. With our carrying arms down in the stored position it adds an additional 14 inches to the overall vehicles length. more

Weve added an overall length of about 13 inches to the rear of the vehicle and have 13 inches of ground clearance from the bottom of the bike rack to the ground. more

A few things to know about this bike rack that it will work with 1 inch receiver hitches both class 1 and class 2. This will also work with 2 inch receiver hitches with the included spacer and thats what well be working with today. Well install the bike rack into the hitch, then well tighten down the anti-rattle bolt, then well install the safety clip on the other side. Now Ill go ahead and get some clearance measurements. From the bike rack to the bumper at its closest point will be 9 inches, overall length will be 26 inches and the ground clearance will be 15. more

Today, we have a 2012 Honda CRV and well be test fitting the Rhode Gear Highway 2 Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RG8015220. To mount the bike carrier to our vehicle, well fit the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube on our hitch. Well line up the hitch pinholes, feed our anti-rattle bolt through the hitch in the bike rack, and tighten it down using a 3-1/4-inch wrench. With the bolt tightened down, our bike rack is secured and ready to go. First, were going to check for rear vehicle access. Well pull the pin at the bottom of our bike rack, tilt it down to make sure we can still open the cargo door of our CRV. more
