Today we're gonna be checking out the CURT seven-way tester and this will allow you to check the lighting functions on your vehicle's seven-way trailer connector. This is gonna be a bladed style and work with just about all the different types of trucks and motor homes and RVs that have this style of plug. The way this is gonna work is super simple and it's gonna check all the different types of functions. So we'll have our brake controller if your vehicle's equipped with one, the backup or reverse lights, you have your right turn signal, your taillights, your left turn signal, your 12 volt auxiliary power, and then how trailer wiring is set up, whenever you hit your brakes, you should get the right turn and left turn to illuminate as well, 'cause the stop and turn's kind of integrated in one, if that makes sense. But really not a whole lot to it. more

Now, this is a lead free rosin core solder, it's 99.3% tin, 0.7% copper. And the size on this is a .031 rosin core solder for any application. Now, rosin core solder contains a mild flux in the center of the wire and it's designed to solder parts where flux residue cannot be removed. This can serve as three different tools, including an anvil cutter, a wire cutter and a box cutter. It does have heat treated carbon steel blades here that are going to be very strong and durable, very sharp, so they'll be able to cut through plastic, linoleum, shrubs, thick leather, all types of hoses, so a great option whether you're gardening or working around a shop and that anvil cutter is going to do a good job for you.It also has this titanium coated wire cutter that's going to allow you to trim a seven millimeter diameter copper, aluminum or soft steel wire, and will cut up to a four millimeter diameter nail.Personally, I don't think that's necessarily a high quality feature of this cutting tool. When I try and cut this wire here you can see it does cut partway through it, but it doesn't give a clean finish. more

Deka Primary Wire Heat Shrinkable Tubing Review- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at Deka's Shrinkable Tubing. These are available in either red or black and gauges between 2-8, 8-12, 10-14, or 14-18. You'll want to use heat shrink to cover up any exposed surfaces, especially on power circuits. We've got some here covering up the ends of our ring terminals where we've crimped it onto our battery wires. We also used it here where we connected two wires together using a non-insulated crimp. Today on our 2011 Honda CRV, we'll be having a look at and installing the Roadmaster tail light wiring kit with bulbs, part number RM-155. Here's what our bulb and socket kit looks like installed. What this kit allows us to do is have a tow vehicle lighting system installed on our vehicle, that is completely separate from the vehicles' lighting circuitry that's already existing. We don't have to worry about cutting our wiring putting diodes in place. This will isolate our vehicles electrical system completely, treating it just like a trailer with a separate bulb. What's great about this kit compared to using a magnetic tow lights is, you don't have to worry about putting on top of your vehicle, scratching your paint when removing them or with a removed round or having them fall off or someone take them. more

Performance Tool Cordless Soldering Iron Review- Video

Today we'll be having a look at the Performance Tools cordless soldering iron, part number PTW2000. Here's what our soldering iron looks like. As you can see, it's a cordless soldering iron. Has a protective cap included and even comes with a little bit of solder. The soldering iron is powered by four AA batteries, you have to provide your own, has two power settings, low and high, and has an LED indicator, lets you know if it's turned on or not right here. The brighter the LED is, it's shows you if it's on the higher setting or the lower setting. The soldering iron is equivalent to an eight watt soldering iron. It's heats up to the maximum temperature of 572 degrees Fahrenheit, and will reach 365 degrees Fahrenheit almost immediately. I have two pieces of wire here. This Hopkins Tow Doctor allows one person to check their trailer wiring and make sure all their functions are working correctly. It's got your right turn brake, your left turn brake, your tail lights, your backup light, your brakes, and even auxiliary power. If the green light appears, the circuit checks out okay.
