Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Ford Edge, we will be having a look at and installing the Curt class 2 trailer hitch receiver, part number C12036. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. One thing you'll notice about our hitch is that it does not stick out past our fascia. We don't have to worry quite as much about running our shin into the back of the receiver as we're loading cargo into our hatch area. One great thing about this hitch is that we do have adequate clearance around our receiver area from the fascia. This will make it an ideal hitch to use with some bike racks and cargo carriers. Now this class 2 hitch has our industry standard inch and a quarter receiver opening right here. more

As you can see, the only part of our hitch that's visible underneath our vehicle is our actual class III, two inch receiver itself. The rest of our hitch, the frame of it, is hidden behind our rear fascia. Now on the side of our hitch, you'll find two holes. The larger one, closest to the front of our vehicle, is our industry standard, five eighth of an inch, hitch pinhole, that we can use a pin or a locking device to secure any of our hitch-mounted accessories. Closer to the rear of the hitch, we have our J-pin stabilization device hole. We have J-pin stabilization devices available on our website. What they do is take away some of the annoying shake, play and rattle out of what's inserted into your receiver, if your device doesn't already have an anti-rattle device built into it. more
