Stromberg Carlson Tailgate Installation - 2016 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2016 Ram 1500 we will be taking a look at and installing the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate, part number VGD-10-100. Now this tailgate is going to have many advantages. One is it's going to keep all your items in that you have in the bed of your truck, while still towing around your 5th-wheel trailer or gooseneck trailer and having plenty of turning space. Secondly, it's going to have a black powder coat finish and be fully welded, so it's going to prevent any kind of rust and corrosion as well as stand up against the elements. Not only that, but it's going to help with air flow and wind noise as you're driving down the road. We'll go ahead and pull out on both rings to release the tailgate and then lower it down. Once you put it up into position, we'll pull out on both those rings to release those latches, raise it up, press in, locking our tailgate in place. more

Husky Liners Tailgate Installation - 2009 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today on our 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, we'll be installing the Husky Liners Premium 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with Locking Handle, part number HL15240. As you can see, our tailgate fits very nicely on our vehicle. It has a nice, contoured look, and follows the lines of our bed nicely. Now, if we want to secure our tailgate, it is locking, so we can insert the key, turn it counter-clockwise, remove the key, and now the handle can't be opened and it'll secure our tailgate onto our vehicle to prevent theft. Now, when we want to open our tailgate again, just insert the key, turn it clockwise, remove the key. We'll pull back on the handle and lower the tailgate on down. As you can see, it'll allow us to easily tow our 5th Wheel trailer without having to worry about when we're making turns, having possible damage to our tailgate. more

Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab, we'll be installing the Husky Liners Premium 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with locking handle, part number HL15330. This tailgate's great for, if we want to tow a goose neck trailer like we have a hitch for here, or a 5th wheel trailer. It will allow us easily hook up to our trailer, still our bed secure and, as you see, anything we put in here, like our tow straps to secure a vehicle on to our car hauler or whatever we need to tie down on to our trailer, we can still have in the bed of our truck without having to worry about them coming out. The aerodynamic vents allow air to pass through smoothly and improve our fuel economy when we're driving down the road. As you can see, this tailgate follows the contours of our vehicle nicely and the silver paint on it matches the silver paint on this truck very closely. It's nice feature, you don't have to worry about getting your tailgate painted if you own a silver truck. Today, on our 2016 RAM 2500. We'll be having a look at the Stromberg Carlson 4000 series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with lock. Part number VGD-10-4000. Now, this tailgate is really nice for when you are towing a gooseneck or a 5th wheeled trailer. Lower it, back-up to your trailer, hook up and you can close your tailgate. As you can see with the cut-out here, you'll have plenty of maneuverability to get into tight positions if you're backing up your trailer or making tight turns. You don't have to lower your tailgate every time once you are already connected, once you need to make a tight maneuver. The vents here will allow airflow to pass through, so you're going to have some increase fuel economy while towing your trailer but yet still keep your materials inside the bed. Now our tailgates made of a very durable composite plastic material, which follows nicely to the lines of our truck bed. more

This is great, because if we have a spare tire for our trailer in the bed of our truck, we don't have to worry about it coming out. The Stromberg Carlson tailgate fits our F-350 very nicely. The nice contoured edge follows the factory lines of our bed very nicely, just like our factory tailgate did. The louvers give is a sleek appearance, and let airflow pass through it. Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, we'll be installing the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with Lock, part number VGM-07-4000. Now, we'll go hook up to a gooseneck trailer, so you can see what it's like with the tailgate there. Has a nice included lock so we can lock it in place. As you can see along this edge and this edge over here, we have a very factory-like appearance, very like our original tailgate, fits very nicely. We have these nice slats right here, so we can have air flowing through it, so we don't hurt our fuel economy quite as bad as we would with a normal tailgate in the upright position. The first thing we need to do is remove our tailgate. Now, if your tailgate has the included backup camera in it right by the handle, you'll need to unplug that first. You'll find a connection for that behind where your license plate is. more

Today on our 2008 Ford F-350 Super Duty, we're going to be taking a look at installing the Husky liners premium fifth wheel louvered tailgate with locking handle, part number, HL15130. It's got a large cut out to allow access for your fifth wheel or your gooseneck trailer, without having to let your gate down you can simply pass it across and attach it. You can see it's a nice fully welded, aluminum tailgate, weighs about half what a traditional tailgate weighs. Still uses a center style latch like your factory, and your safety cables, and it has a key so you can lock it and keep it in place, so nobody can run off with your tailgate. This tailgate really contours the body of your truck, gives it that OE appearance. Stromberg Carlson Tailgate Installation - 2016 Ford F-350 VG-97-100- Video

Today on our 2016 Ford F-350, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate with open design for Ford trucks, part number VG-97-100. Here's our nice benefit about the gate, we're going to have that nice low drop, allowing that gooseneck or 5th wheel to go right in without constantly opening and closing the tailgate every time we want to hook up or disconnect. It's got the open design which is going to help out a lot with visibility behind the vehicle, trying to back up to tighter spots and things like that, you'll have that open design to allow us to see through, and that open design's also going to help save us a little bit of money at the pump. While they're not pre-drilled, we do have a nice area here where if you decided to, you could drill a hole in to connect your tailgate safety cables, just have to be sure to provide your own hardware. Here you can see our spring loaded hinge, this is designed to allow our striker to sit in behind it, and then close on the front side of it. That gives us a nice, compressed fit on the rubber grommet here, keeping noise and vibration to a minimum. As you can see, when installed, you shake it around, you're not going to have that noise and that vibration that we're used to from some of the other styles of gate. If your vehicle's equipped with a backup camera, before we begin our installation, we want to look at the wire that runs right here underneath the bed, it's going to run over to the passenger side, makes a small loop, and then we'll have a connector here that looks just like that. We want to get that separated, once that's separated, we're ready to remove our tailgate. more

That's a big benefit to this gate, as we head down the road we're not going to have all that rattling and bouncing back behind us. You've got the nice drop here to allow for the fifth wheel, the gooseneck to go right over and make the connection with our ball in the front. Stromberg Carlson Tailgate Installation - 2016 Ford F-250 VG-97-100- Video

Today on our 2016 Ford F250, we are going to do a test fit on our Stromberg Carlson 100 Series Fifth Wheel Tailgate with open design for Ford trucks. Part number is VG-97-100. Of course this is the goal, so we can have that drop down that's going to allow our king pin box to go right up, we don't have to worry about lowering the tailgate or taking the tailgate off every time we want to get around town or move our trailer around. It has got a nice heavy-duty steel construction, got a black powder coat finish on it. It is going to stand up to the elements, weather and things like that to really keep it looking nice for a long time for us. It has been costumed designed so it is going to fit every curve of our truck here and give it a-- well not a factory appearance, but close to a factory fit anyway. The louvered design that we have here really helps to promote good air flow so we don't have any risks of decreasing our miles per gallon. You can see our really nice, clean lines all the way up and around, gives it a really nice appearance there. We are going to have a nice, open area here in our steel, that if we choose to we can go ahead and drill a hole in there and connect our factory safety cables, so our gate won't drop down past where we want it. Stromberg Carlson 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate Installation - 2014 Ford F-150- Video

Today on our 2014 F 150, we're going to do a test fit on the Strongberg Carlson 400 Series fifth wheel louvered tailgate with lock for Ford trucks, part number is VG-04-04000. The fifth wheel tailgate is going to provide a really good way to get our fifth wheel or gooseneck hooked up to our truck without having to open and close the tailgate each time. This is a blow molded, glass filled polymer, so you're going to have a very strong, almost as strong as steel feel to it, while we are not going to have to worry about rust, corrosion and things like that. This is a paint able surface, as well as our adjustable end caps, fully paint able so we can match the truck if we decide to. The nice thing about the end caps here, these are going to be fully adjustable. That is going to give us that custom look, or that specifically designed look as you can see, it matches up really well with the contours of our truck and it gives it more of a factory feel or more of an original equipment feel to it. Today, on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado classic, we'll be taking a look at the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series Fifth Wheel Tailgate with the open design for GM trucks. Part number VGM-99-100. As you can see, this has a nice, clean design. For anybody that's looking to put a fifth wheel or gooseneck in the back of the vehicle, they'll be able to carry it with no problems and have plenty of room here. In addition to giving you better fuel economy and preventing that wind drag, it's also going to give you the ability to place items in the bed of your truck without worrying about it sliding out the back if you had to remove your tailgate beforehand. You can see it's going to be very easy to operate. It's going to be nice and sturdy here with your nice little rubber bump stops on the other side. To open it up, you'll just pull in on the rings and drop it down. Now, by those bump stops, I mean on the back side here, which will help keep down on any kind of vibration or anything you might have in your tailgate. Lift it back up, pull the pins, and secure it in place. It's also going to have that nice, black, powder coat finish that's going to help to prevent any kind of rust and corrosion. more

Today, on a 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty, we're going to show you the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate, Part#VG-97-100. This is what the tailgate looks like once installed on our Ford. To give you an idea of how big the opening is here in the middle for your 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer, the bottom is going to be about 15" wide and if we go to the top, it's going to be about 34" wide. Now go ahead and check out the fit. As you can see here, the rounded part of the tailgate actually matches the rounded part of the truck bed itself and also the taillight. It kind of matches it all the way down and matches up pretty nice. This tailgate's constructed from steel material with a powder-coat finish. Even though it's all welded and steel, it's actually pretty lightweight to work with. more

This finish actually has three layers to it so it's actually very durable against nicks and scrapes. Today, on this 2012 Ford F-350 Super Duty, we're going to show you Husky Liners Premium 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate, part number HL15130. This is what the tailgate looks like when it's installed on our truck. Take a outward look, you can see it has a nice silver finish to it, which works with a lot of different variety of colors of trucks. We'll go ahead and check the shape of it, it actually matches the contour of the truck lines pretty well. Of course, it's a 5th wheel tailgate, so you got a nice opening for your 5th wheel to fit into. Also, it works great with the previously installed Gooseneck Hitch as well. All right, let's go ahead and check out the opening. At the minimum, it's going to be about 15 inches and its maximum is going to be about 29 inches. A couple other details, is that this is constructed from all aluminum and also with a painted finished as well. more

On this 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to show you a Stromberg Carlson 4000 series fifth wheel and gooseneck tailgate, part number VGN dash 07 dash 4000. Taking our first look at the tailgate, you can see it has a generous opening for your fifth wheel, or in this case, gooseneck hitch in this truck. You don't have to worry about lowering your tailgate to hook up. Continue with the look of it, you can see how this edge of a tailgate matches the body work above the tail light, also matches the curve of the tail light as well, matches the seam right here, and also the bodywork below the tail light. Now, I want to take a little bit closer look at the louvers here, how the air can pass through the tailgate. The gap is probably a little under half an inch. This tailgate is a composite construction, which means you got the plastic outside, which really saves on the weight of the tailgate, but also on the inside, we lower it, we can see the steel components as well that gives it the strength. more

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be doing an installation of the Husky Liners Premium 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with the Locking Handle, part number HL15240. You can see the louvered tailgate once it's installed. Of course, we've got the drop down to allow for our use next to things like that to be connected without any problem. This is also going to give us an advantage in that this is about half the weight of a standard steel tailgate. It's also louvered. While we're dropping weight in the truck just like the new cars coming out, they don't have spare tires to help with fuel economy, losing weight is going to help us with our fuel economy, and this louvered design is going to allow air to pass through rather than be caught in there. It can really help to improve our fuel economy. This is a locking tailgate. more
