Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 RAM 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with R20 Slider, part number C16536. So here's what our 5th wheel hitch and slider look like when they're fully installed. Now, this is gonna allow us to tow a 5th wheel trailer with our truck. If you have less than a eight food bed, when you tow with the 5th wheel, the slider's gonna greatly benefit us because it's gonna give us 12 inches of travel, forward and back, allowing to have enough clearance so that our trailer is not gonna make contact with our cab.Now, if we come to the side here, we can see that it's in the towing position. But if we come to the lever and we pull out on the lever and slightly turn it, we'll see that there's a red notch right here. This is gonna allow the 5th wheel to slide back into the maneuvering position. more

Today we're gonna be taking look at the BMW Companion OEM fifth-wheel trailer hitch with slider for the Ram towing prep package. Part number is DWRVK3670. Now this companion fifth-wheel is designed to go directly into the Ram puck system, so we can get a fifth-wheel hitch put in the bed of the truck that does offer a slider without any bed modifications. That's really key I think, about the puck system and being able to get something like this put in your bed very quickly. Now something that really sets this sliding set up apart from any others is the distance that it actually travels. With this one we've got a very easy to operate lever here on the side. Just gonna slide that into the unlocked position and this gives us a full twelve inches of travel. We'll then move that handle back into the locked position. more

Today, we'll be having a look at the Husky Silver Series 16KW 5th wheel trailer hitch, part number HT31326-31314. Here we are in the bed of our truck, and here's what it looks like in the bed of our truck, coupled up to our trailer. Now, what separates this 5th wheel from other 5th wheels on the market is our fully articulating head right here, which will provide the correct angle to connect to our kingpin, regardless of the terrain that we are on. If we find ourselves on uneven terrain, this will provide a quick and easy hook-up every time. One key feature that this 5th wheel has, that others don't, is that we have a two pin adjustment point, fore and aft, so we can center our kingpin directly over the center line of our rear axle, providing us the best weight distribution that we possibly can get. We also have a vertical height adjustment here to help adjust it. So, when we are towing our 5th wheel, we can ensure that it's level. Uncoupling from our 5th wheel is super easy. If you've ever towed a 5th wheel with a short bed truck, you know that it comes in handy to have a slider like we have here whenever you're making tight turns. We come to this handle and we pull out. We can turn it and our 5th wheel's going to slide back 12" to give us extra clearance so we don't have to worry about our 5th wheel trailer hitting our cab. The slider is a nonbinding slider, so no matter what angle you're pulling your trailer at, it's going to be able to slide freely back and forth. Whenever we're done making that tight turn and getting around the corner, we can straighten our trailer out, straighten our truck out, and our slider's going to slide right back and lock into position. Today on our 2012 Ford F250, we're going to be taking a look at the Reese Titan 16 Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number RP30866. So, here we have our fifth wheel installed along with our base rails, which are sold separately. This fifth wheel is gonna work with all industry standard base rails that mount inside the truck bed. Now, this fifth wheel features a 16,000 pound gross trailer weight limit. That's the amount that it could pull and it also features a 4,000 pound vertical load limit. The head on the fifth wheel itself does swivel side-to-side and back-to-front to allow you to get the right angle when hooking up to your trailer. The way that we're gonna hook this up to your trailer is if you come over to this handle, rotate it up and then pull it out, you'll see the jaws are going to open. more

Then when we're ready to straighten back out, the hitch will slide back into the towed position, and we can lock the handle. Husky Silver Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Review HT31326-31196- Video
Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Husky Silver Series 16K Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider. Its part number is HT31326-31196. Now, to operate the slider portion, we'll have that right here, and what we'll do here is lift up on our lever. As we do it, it's going to rotate our locking plate up and out of the way, and then that allows us to slide that back, reengage the lever there. Then, we can lock it in that position for a maneuvering position. Now, this delivers 10" of travel, so that's going to get the front of our camper 10" further away from the rear of our vehicle. It's going to make it nice at the low speeds only when we're trying to maneuver into our parking spaces, maybe camp sites and things like that. more

We'll start with, if you look right down here as this cast center section moves it's got rubber bumpers here designed to take up any of that noise or any of that jarring we might feel. Today we're going to take a look at the Demco Recon Single Jaw 5th Wheel trailer hitch with a 21,000 pound weight capacity. Now this 5th wheel hitch will mount in your truck bed so you can tow your 5th wheel trailer. It uses a nice wraparound single piece jaw that'll provide a secure connection. It gives you 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact. That'll give you less rattle, more security, than the slide bar jaws. If you notice in front right up here, there's a 3/4-inch thick solid steel locking bar, which will reinforce the connection of your coupling trailer, and that'll automatically lock into place when the jaw closes. It does use a double pivot hitch head, which will ease hookup, helps limit chucking. more

Today, we are going to review part number C16621. This is the CURT Q16 Fifth-Wheel Trailer Hitch with the R16 slider, the base rails and the installation kit all included and this has a sixteen thousand pound weight capacity. Now, this heavy duty fifth-wheel trailer hitch has the dual jaw, has a nice pivoting head and on the very back here it uses a color-coded lock indicator to give you superb safety and security. Now, the two jaw locking system right here provides a three-hundred and sixty degree jaw-to-king pin contact and because of that, it'll give you less rattle, more security than a lot of the Slide-Moore models. This has a self-aligning wide head opening right here you can see for a nice simple hook-up. The way they do that is they use a fully articulating torsion head which gives you controlled coupling and a nice stable, quiet ride. Now, there is two lube points, which for easy access, grease Zerk fittings and they are located on the front of each jaw. more

Today we're going to take a look at the Curt Q25 dual jaw 5th wheel trailer hitch with the R24 slider, the base rails, the universal installation kit and 24,000 pound weight capacity. Now, this 5th wheel hitch will mount in your truck bed so that you can tow your 5th wheel trailer. Uses this non-binding slider that provides 12 inches of clearance that's required for a short bed truck to turn safely at slow speeds. That will prevent the trailer from hitting the cab of your pickup during those sharp, slow speed turns. It does slide smoothly on these rounded non-binding rods and the slider is designed for use on trucks with beds that are shorter than 8 foot. It's not recommended for use on truck beds that are shorter than 6 foot. The hitch head on this uses a 2 jaw locking system and that provides a nice 360 degree jaw to kingpin contact. more

Now, this fifth wheel hitch will mount in your truck bed so that you can tow your fifth wheel trailer. It uses the interlocking two-jaw system right here, which provides a nice 360-degree jaw-to-kingpin contact, and because of that it'll give you less rattle, more security than your slide bar models. Also, on the front of each jaw, over here and over here, you can notice there's two built-in grease zerk fittings, which will give you easy lubrication of the jaws. This hitch does use a fully articulating torsion head for controlled coupling and a nice stable, quiet ride. It will self-align for easy hookup, and helps suppress road shock to reduce any bothersome towing noise. The handle right here is a lockable handle. more

Here's what our Hijacker looks like fully assembled and inserted into the under-bed mount rails. The biggest feature about the Hijacker is the auto slide feature. With this one going into the under-bed mount rails. It functions the same as the one with the above bed rails. Here you can see as the truck turns, it pivots inside the Hijacker unit. As it pivots, it works its way towards the rear of the truck in order to gain more access. more

Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with R20 Slider and Rails Review- Video
Today we'll be having a look at the Curt Q20 Fifth Wheel Hitch, and Curt R20 Slider rails, and the bed rails to install it all with, part number C16636. This kit is designed for trucks with shorter than an 8 foot bed. The R20 Slider gives us the ability to have our fifth wheel hitch move further to the back so we can maneuver easier. To do that, just pull back on this handle, and then you can pull your truck forward, and it slides very easily to help you make into a maneuvering position. Once you're ready to actually drive you're trailer down the road, just apply your trailer brakes, put on your brake controller, put your truck in reverse, and back up until it comes back, and locks in position. The R20 Slider's most often used on trucks with 6 foot and 6 and a half foot beds. This roller helps eliminate clearance problems during slow speed turns. We are telling a fifth wheel trailer your hitch must be situated on a cab side of your truck's rear axle. However at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide a fifth wheel hitch and a trailer toward your truck tailgate, and pass the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less restricted turning. This combination has a 20,000 lb max gross trailer rate rating and 5,000 lb max vertical load limit. The two-jaw locking system provides 360 degree jaw to king pin contact. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, part number BWRVK3500-5W. This 5th wheel companion is going to be great for hooking up any 5th wheel trailers that you may have, but also if you have gooseneck trailers, it works great because this goes into gooseneck rails that you can use the gooseneck ball with. What's really nice about this 5th wheel companion is that you can completely remove it from the bed, so when you take it out, you've got a full bed access and there are no cross rails left behind. It features a dual jaw design. It's going to give you 360 degrees of coverage around your king pin. Unlike slide bar jaws, the rounded 2 piece jaw in this 5th wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hook up and a safer quieter ride. In order to operate those dual jaws, you simply remove the pin from the handle here and then this handle is a cam action, so as you pull the handle back, it's going to open up the jaws and then you can slide your king pin in. more

Now for this video demonstration, I have it installed on these under bed rails just to give you an idea of what it would look like, but these under bed rails are sold separately.
