Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. There's a really clean, almost factory appearance because, as you can see, almost all the hitch is going to be completely hidden except for the receiver tube. That's really nice, not only because it's not going to take away from the aesthetics of our Jeep, but it helps out quite a bit with ground clearance. We don't have a cross tube that's spanning from side to side below the bumper, reducing that amount. more

Hi there Jeep owners today in your 2015, Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install etrailer's, class three, two inch trailer hitch receiver. So it's going to be great for all of your towing needs, whether you're wanting to place accessories in it and it's such as a bike rack or cargo carrier and load them up to the max, or if you need to take along, a medium or a small sized trailer with you for the weekend. It uses a 5/8 inch hitch pin and clip. Now one doesn't come included with the hitch, but we have plenty available at etrailer.com here. On bottom, we have plate style safety chain loops, and it's got a medium to small size opening that should work with most of your medium and smaller size safety chains. If you do have larger safety chains, you're wanting to attach, we do have quick links available that will allow any safety chain to easily attach to those, by hoking this is onto your safety chain loop on your hitch.It features a 600 pound tongue weight, which is the force going down on top of the receiver, and that should be more than enough for a cargo carrier loaded to the max or a four bike platform rack fully loaded up as well. more

Now our hitch is going to sit in from the bumper a little bit, which'll be fine if we're going to be off-roading because it is going to give us that better departure angle, and we won't have to worry about catching anything on it. But when it comes to recreational accessories like a bike rack, or a cargo carrier, it is going to hinder how much we can use it only because our spare tire's going to stick out so far, and our hitch is going to be in, so we're going to need quite a bit of a shank to get past this tire.But regardless of if you're going to be towing or using other accessories, the way we're going to mount all of them is through the hitch pinhole here on the side. Our hitch is going to accept a standard 5/8 pin and clip. These are not included with the hitch, but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com along with some locking devices to make sure your accessories are secure.But if you are going to be towing a trailer, you need a spot to hook up your safety chains, and we're going to have a plate-style connection point welded to the bottom of the receiver tube, and you can see even with some of the smaller hooks we'll have plenty of room to get them on, or take them off. more

Hi, there, Jeep owners. Today on your 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Curt's Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver.This is what your hitch is going to look like when it's installed. You're only going to be able to see the receiver tube, and it's going to be tucked back nicely so it's even underneath of our rear bumper here. This hitch is particularly short for individuals who like to go off-roading and want that extra road clearance because they don't want to mess up their departure angle, and minimizing the length sticking out, you have reduced the amount that your hitch is going to affect that departure angle.You'll want to keep in mind though because of this being shorter for that better departure angle, it's going to be tucked back under the bumper. So you're going to want to purchase a longer shank on some of your accessories, like your bike racks and cargo carriers, because you want to make sure you can clear the bumper and your spare tire in the back. And many of those have an upright storage position that may not be able to be put upright due to the spare tire back here.It's a Class III 2" x 2" receiver, so it is going to be great for all of your towing needs, whether you're using it for a trailer or you're putting a bike rack in the back to bring some bikes to the trail with you. more

Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler- Video

Today you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to walk you through the installation on the Draw-Tite class two trailer hitch and receiver on our 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler.Some of this hitch is noticeable on the back here but it's not so noticeable that it's taking away from the vehicle. The nice shape found here on this back plate it fits the contour with the bumper. So again it maintains a nice, clean look back on the back of the vehicle.This is going to be a class two hitch. So if you're one of those types of people that doesn't haul a lot of trailers, you do a lit of biking, maybe bike racks, cargo carriers, this hitch is going to be perfect for you.
