Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at how the Flint Hill Goods Steel Cargo Carrier fits on the 2017 Toyota RAV4. This is gonna be a compact steel cargo carrier, great if you have limited space inside of your shed or your garage, but you still need to add extra cargo space to your vehicle. So this will go right into the hitch of your RAV4, and it's gonna be helpful if you have larger or dirtier items that you don't want dirtying up the interior of your vehicle. So taking a look at how this fits on the RAV4, this is gonna be very compact. So for our measurement, it's gonna be about 53 1/4 by 19 3/4 inches, easy to store in your shed, but when you have it on your car, it will still take up a little bit of space. So I like to measure from the bumper going out, we have it at about 2 feet or 24 inches. more

Right now we have the etrailer aluminum cargo carrier loaded up. Now let's just go over some features of it for you guys, see how it's going to interact with your RAV4.To start, I want to point out having an aluminum cargo carrier is a great advantage. You're taking the amount of ton weight added to your vehicle and you're cutting it out by a lot, and when you compare it to a steel folding cargo carrier, so you're not going to have as much weight back there when it's empty and not as much weight even when it's filled up. You're still going to have a 500 pound weight capacity, which is right in line with a lot of other cargo carriers we carry, so you're not really sacrificing too much there.As far as storage space for it, we'll measure inside rail to inside rail. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2015 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be test fitting the 20 by 48 Curt cargo carrier for both 1 1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches, part number C18110. Now, this has a carrying capacity of 300 pounds. It has this nice mesh floor which makes it easier to clean and then all the way around the border of the cargo carrier you have these points, and those are going to be tie downs for either your ratcheting straps, your bungee cords, whatever you use to tighten down the gear. Now, I'd like to go ahead and give you some measurements. Measuring from the edge of the bumper up to our outer edge here, we've added about 27 1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. For our ground clearance at the bottom of this bolt here, we're right at about 13 inches. Our closest point is going to be about 7 1/2 inches. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on this 2016 Toyota Rav4 we're going to be test fitting the 23 X 60 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier, part number CC-100. This cargo carrier has a carrying capacity of 500 pounds and has this mesh floor at the bottom, which makes it easy to clean. Around the borders of the cargo carrier we have these points here, which you can use as tie-down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. Also at the front, we have these 3 smaller holes here on each side, which you can use to attach either lights or reflectors. We also have 2 points up here, so just in case your cargo's going to block off your license plate you can actually relocate it to down here. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Starting from the bumper to this outer edge here, we've added about 27.5 inches. more

It's made from a strong durable aluminum and has tie-down points at both the front and the rear of the cargo carrier, which you can use for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements. Measuring from the bumper to our outer edge here, we've added about 27-1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. Our ground clearance is going to be about 10 inches, and our closest point right here is going to be about 5 inches. Now, the exhaust is going to be on the passenger side and it's going to face down away from the actual cargo carrier itself. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV 4, we are going to be test fitting the 23 X 47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, part number M2205. This has a 450 pound carrying capacity and with the walls themselves, which measure up to about 22 inches from the base here, it is going to provide plenty of protection for your gear as you travel down the road. Now these walls do fold down if you need to. You pull the pins on all four corners like so. Then you can start folding them in. Now before we get the final two walls in, I am going to go ahead and grab the strap that comes with it and actually run that under. This is going to be a cam buckle strap that will hold everything together. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4 c18151- Video
Today on this 2016 Toyota Rav 4, we're going to be test fitting the 20 X 16 Curt Cargo Carrier part number C18151. This cargo carrier has a 500lbs carrying capacity and it has a mesh flow, which makes it easy to clean. It also has this rail all the way around the carrier, which you can use as a tie down port for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. The cargo carrier in this position measuring from the bumper to the outer rail here, we've added about 33 1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. The ground clearance is going to be about 10 1/2 inches. Then our closest point on the inner rail, that's going to be about 12 1/2 inches. The exhaust is going to be on the passenger side and faces down away from the cargo carrier, it's also about 20 inches or so away from the cargo carrier itself, so I wouldn't worry to much about any heat sensitive material going into the actual cargo carrier itself. Now with nothing in the cargo carrier, of course, we can actually have access to our rear hatch with no problems. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2010 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be taking a look a the Stromberg Carlson 23 x 60 Cargo Carrier, Part Number CC-100. This cargo carrier has a nice expanded metal bottom, so you can usually wash it off, then keep all your dirt and debris to fall through. It's got a three inch side rail with small nice holes drilled in it for your tie down points. It's got a black powder coat finish to help with rust and corrosion. Let's give you some measurements to help you in your decision. At our lowest point our ground clearance is going to be about 9 1/2" to the bottom of the bolt that comes through here. The closest point of contact if you we're to slide all the way into your receiver it's going to be about 8 inches. Overall we've added 28" to the length our vehicle. You want to keep in mind that the RAV4 has a passenger side exhaust that exits straight back, which is about 12 1/2" away. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota RAV4, we have our 23 x 47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, Part Number M2205. This holds up to 450 pounds. Let's see how much length it adds to our vehicle. In this position, it sticks out about 35 inches, and we have just under 16 inches of ground clearance back here. Our closest point to the vehicle is right about 5-1/2 inches. In this position, we have plenty of places to hook our straps to, and we have these nice big walls to hold our cargo in, but if we're done holding cargo, we can pull these pins and fold it down for our stow position. Now, in our stow position, we have a strap that comes with this that we want to put in place, so that when we fold this up, we don't have our sides flopping back and forth. Just feed this through, and this is a self-tightening strap. more

Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4, we're doing a test fit of the Curt Cargo Carrier, part number 18153. This is a 24 x 60 cargo carrier, can hold up to 500 pounds, see there we already have it on I'll show you a few features. First like to do measurements, so from the bumper closer to our terra rack is 16 inches, overall we've added 42 inches on, and for our ground clearance, it's 13 inches. This made out of a sturdy steel, you see that it has the mesh bottom, so you can easy clean. Holds up to 500 pounds, like I say. On this side of the car, we have our exhaust, that's pretty far, it's 24 inches, so just in case, just remember, when you have any heat-sensitive materials that can come in contact, you may want to move them over. Can get in and out of your hatch as you can see. Let's see where we figure out what worked. more

Detail K2 20x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4 we have our K2 folding cargo carrier, part #K2HCC602. This is a 20x60 cargo carrier. All right lets get some measurements here. First one we will take is the overall length we add, it is about 34 1/2 inches to the back. Our closest point into our vehicle is about 13 1/2 inches. Ground clearance spec here at the back is about 10 1/2 inches and this vehicle only has one exhaust, points down to the ground and is pretty far away, it is about 21 inches, so I wouldn't worry about it too much but just keep that in mind that the exhaust is on this side for your heat sensitive materials. This is a good place if you wanted to get into your vehicle, but we do have to worry about our break-over, that happens about 24 1/2 inches, so if you sack 00:01:13 anything above that just be aware that you may not be able to open your hatch. more

On our Toyota, we have about 34 inches added to the vehicle. Our ground clearance, back here, is about 10 inches to the back, here. Our closest point to the vehicle, right now, is right about 14 inches. Now we do have a singular exhaust. It points to the ground, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. more

Part number on it is C18150. Now, this is going to offer the expanded steel-style floor so we're going to have lots of areas for that dirt and debris to fall down and out. We also got a nice raised edge that you can see all the way around. It's about five and a half inches off our platform height. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2015 Toyota RAV4, we've got the Strongbird-Carlson 23x60 cargo carrier here that we're doing a test fit on. They designed this for use in 2" hitches. Offers a 500 pound weight capacity, the part number on it is CC-100. Now this is going to have an expanded steel floor, you can see in there. A little bit larger than what would be, I guess, standard size. That gives us opportunities for those larger clumps of dirt and stuff like that to fall down through. more

SportRack Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2015 Toyota Rav 4, we're going to be doing a test fit of this four rack Vista cargo carrier, that's going to offer 20 by 60 inch, 20 inches wide by 60 inches long of cargo space here on that top. That way you can securely fasten any of your cargo. As you can see, it's going to be laid out in this nice platform position, but it also does have that nice folding option here. This is going to be part #SR9A51. As you can see here, you're going to have your two inch shank that's going to attach to your two inch receiver, and it's going to be secured using an anti-rattle bolt, which will help reduce a lot of the sway, rattle and wobble that you'll have on the back of your vehicle. As you can see here, the whole vehicle's moving rather than just the rack as a stand-alone item. So let's start of by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be first and it's going to be from the front of this bracket here to the backside of the bumper. more

Today on our 2015 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be doing a test fit of the MaxxTow 27 by 47" aluminum cargo carrier. This cargo carrier is going to have that 60" pivoting ramp and it's going to come with your anti-tilt and hitch pin and clip. Note that it does come with a 2" shank for your 2" receivers only. There's the anti-tilt device here. That's going to help reduce a lot of the sway, rattle, and wobble that you would normally have. Let's go ahead and get a few measurements to start it off. more

This is going to be your 32 by 48" model with a sturdy steel construction and a 300 pound weight capacity. It's going to come with that 2" shank for your 2" receivers only, as well as an anti-rattle bolt to help reduce the sway, rattle, and wobble that you would normally have in your cargo carrier. Let's start off by getting a few measurements. This will be part number HCR222. Our closest distance will be from the bumper to the front of the rack at about 7-1/2". Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle from the rear of the bumper once again to the back of the rack at about 42". more

Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2015 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Curt cargo carrier. This'd be part number C18153. It's going to offer you 24 inches by 60 inches of storage space on the back end of your vehicle with that nice expanded bottom for easy cleaning. Note that it does come with that nice folding shank as well to stow it up and against the vehicle which we'll show you in a few minutes, as well as that 2-inch shank that's going to attach to our 2-inch receiver. Curt Folding Aluminum Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota Rav4 well be test fitting the Curt 20 inch by 60 inch folding aluminum cargo carrier, part number C18100. This carrier will not fit the Rav4 in the folded up position due to the spare tire. Were going to use it as a flat cargo carrier. To mount the carrier to our vehicle well insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Well secure it using a pin and clip. Next well go over a handful of clearance measurements. more
