Today on our 2013 Honda CRV, we're doing a test fit of the Saris Freedom SuperClamp. It's a platform style 2-bike rack. It's been designed for use with 1-1/4-inch or 2-inch hitches. Part number on it is SA4025. Cool thing about the Freedom SuperClamp is the way it holds the bike on the rack. We've got a front wheel hook, a rear wheel hook, a rear wheel cradle with strap, and then a front wheel cradle, so essentially, no contact with the bike frame at all. more

The rack's going to hold the bike in three positions. We've got one here on the front wheel, one here on the rear wheel, and then the top frame two hook. Today on 2013 Honda CRV, we're test fitting the Hollywood Rack's Traveler tow and go. This is a three bike rack, designed to fit right over a standard two inch ball mount. Part number on it is HR135. Here we've got it in the hidden hitch super long ball mount, this is part number 80232 but can easily fit around any two inch by two inch diameter ball mount with enough length to it. With our CRV, the bottom of our ball mount, this is a straight shank, no drop, no rise. It's going to be about twelve and a quarter inches and it's going to be about twelve and an eighth to the bottom of the tow and go. more

Today on our 2013 Honda CRV we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sport Rack hanging-style 3-bike rack. It's going to come with an 1-1/4" shank with a 2" adapter, as you can see the 1-1/4" there. It's going to be part number SR2403. We're going to go ahead and fit it onto our 2" shank that we have here today. Insert your shank and then line up your pinholes. Also note that this receiver has two sets of pinhole locations so you can either go further in or closer. more

Today on our 2013 Honda CRV we're going to be doing a test fit of the Swagman XTC 4. This is going to be your platform-style 4-bike rack, and it's only going to come with a 2" shank for your 2" hitches. It's going to be part number S64665. Let's go ahead and fit it into our 2" receiver that we have here today. Once you insert it into your receiver, line up your pinholes. With your pinhole lined up, insert your anti-rattle bolt, which will look like this. Turn the key to unlock and lock, and pull it off. more

Today on our 2013 Honda CRV, well be test fitting the Saris Thelma, a platform style 3 bike rack for 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number SA4239B. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. In this position, youll have about 12 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the vehicle will be about 4 inches and overall were adding about 11-1/2 inches to our vehicle. By removing the gold pin at the base of the rack, we can tilt it into its loading position. As you can see, in this position, we do have full access to our rear hatch. Lets go over a couple measurements. more

Saris Cycle-On 2 Bike Rack Review - 2013 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2013 Honda CRV we're going to be test fitting the Saris Cycle-On, a platform-style 2 Bike Rack for 2 inch hitches, Part Number SA4024. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll then line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and secure it with a wrench. In this position, we'll have about 11 3/4 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our CRV is about 10 inches. We're adding about 17 1/2 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. One thing we've noticed with this fit is that you do have the ability to open the rear hatch with the bike rack in this stored position. more

Saris Axis 3 Bike Rack Review - 2013 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2013 Honda CR-V, well be test fitting the Saris Axis, a tilting 3 bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SA843B. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well then line up our pin holes and thread in our anti-rattle bolt. We can then secure this by tightening it with a wrench. In this position, we have about 12-1/4 worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 6-1/2, and overall, were adding about 15 to the length of the CR-V. Lifting the yellow levers on the top of the rack, allow us to extend our dual-cradle arms. Well lift the lever, slide the arm towards the middle, lift it, aligning it with the appropriate slot, moving it back towards the outside, and then securing it with the lever. When setting our arms, well want to be sure that we have them level or slightly inclined. more

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2013 Honda CRV, we'll be test fitting the Kuat NV aluminum, platform-style, 2-bike rack for a 2" hitch, part number N101. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole, and install our pin and lock. At the rear of the shank, we'll tighten the hand knob to engage our anti-rattle device and secure our bike rack to our vehicle. Now we'll go over some clearance measurements. With the bike carrier in the folded position, we have about 12" of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of our CRV is about 5". more

Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Recumbent Bike Rack Review - 2013 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2013 Honda CRV well be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider two bike carrier for recumbents, part number HR1000R-1G. To begin our test fit we will slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and tighten with a wrench. Now that the carrier is secured to the vehicle well go over a few clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle will fit together. There is about 12 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about five and a half inches. We have added a total of 30 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more
