Surco Safari Rooftop Cargo Basket Review SPS4550-T400- Video

Today we're going to review the Surco Safari Rack 5.0 rooftop cargo basket for use with Thule square bar roof racks, part number SPS4550-T400. Included with this system is the Surco aluminum basket. It measures forty-five inches wide by fifty inches long, and it's made out of aluminum for a lightweight basket that's still very strong. It's finished in a black powder coat and it's built here in the USA and covered with a ninety day warranty. The weight capacity is limited only to what your vehicle's roof capacity is. In addition to the basket, you'll find the adapter clamps for use with the Thule Square load bars. What we'll do is set our basket up on top of the bars. We'll center it from left to right and make sure we have it positioned where we can balance the weight evenly across the two cross bars. more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2013 BMW X5- Video

Today on our 2013 BMW X5 we'll be testing the Thule MOAB rooftop cargo carrier, the mother of all baskets, part number TH690XT. With a Thule AeroBlade roof rack system assembled onto our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing our MOAB directly onto our load bars. We'll position it the way we prefer and then we'll swing around each clamp under the load bars, fit the bolt up through the brackets and tighten with a wing nuts. We'll do this process for all four brackets. Once we have it tight our cargo carrier is secured to our roof rack and we can install our black plastic covers over top of each clamp. With our cargo carrier installed we're ready to start loading up our gear. more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2012 Nissan Sentra- Video

Today on our 2012 Nissan Sentra we'll be test fitting the Thule Mother-of-All Baskets Rooftop Cargo Carrier, part number th690xt. With our roof rack system already installed onto our vehicle, we'll begin by placing our carrier onto the roof rack system. We'll swing the clamps around to make sure that each clamp goes under the crossbar. We'll feed the bolt through and tighten with the wing nut. Once we have all the clamps secured, we can then install the plastic covers that go over each clamp. Now our carrier is installed and we're ready to start loading it up. more

Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2013 Dodge Dart- Video

Today on our 2013 Dodge Dart we'll be test fitting the Yakima Load Warrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket, part number y07070. Now our vehicle is equipped with a Yakima Round Bar Roof Rack System. So to begin our test fit, we'll simply place the roof rack cargo basket onto the vehicles crossbars. Now once the cargo basket is onto the vehicles crossbars we can loosen up the wing nuts to bring the t-bolts around the underside of the black bracket. We'll insert the t-bolt into the black bracket and turn the black wing nut to tighten it down. We'll then repeat these steps for all three of the other brackets. more

Okay, now our Jetta has already been equipped with a roof rack system with elliptical bars and as for a reference point our centers of the bars are going to be 27 and 9/16. Okay, were going to start off our test fit with the basket already assembled. We just got to place it on the roof rack, get it centered the way we wand and then we can go ahead and install the hardware. Well begin by setting the basket on top of the crossbars. Well then center it from the left to right of the vehicle. After that, well go ahead and tighten it down using the provided hardware. With our hardware tight, our roof basket is installed and ready to be loaded. more
