Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2015 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be test fitting the 20 by 48 Curt cargo carrier for both 1 1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches, part number C18110. Now, this has a carrying capacity of 300 pounds. It has this nice mesh floor which makes it easier to clean and then all the way around the border of the cargo carrier you have these points, and those are going to be tie downs for either your ratcheting straps, your bungee cords, whatever you use to tighten down the gear. Now, I'd like to go ahead and give you some measurements. Measuring from the edge of the bumper up to our outer edge here, we've added about 27 1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. For our ground clearance at the bottom of this bolt here, we're right at about 13 inches. Our closest point is going to be about 7 1/2 inches. more

Rola 21x55 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2008 Toyota Camry- Video

Today on our 2008 Toyota Camry we're doing a test fit of the Rola 21 by 55 cargo carrier. That part number if 59507. Now this has a weight capacity of 300 pounds and works with 1-1/4 hitches only. The first thing we're going to do while it's installed on our vehicle is take a few measurements. Starting off with our ground clearance, we're going to have about 13 inches. Overall to our vehicle we're going to have about 28 inches, and our closest point here is going to be about 3-3/4 inches away. Now, on our Camry we do have a single passenger side exhaust. Although it's underneath our carrier, it does come straight out so it's about 10-3/4 inches away here, so if you're worried about heat-sensitive materials, I would keep that either inside your vehicle or closer to the driver's side. Next, we'll pop our trunk and check that breakover point. more

This has a 450 pound carrying capacity and with the walls themselves, which measure up to about 22 inches from the base here, it is going to provide plenty of protection for your gear as you travel down the road. Now these walls do fold down if you need to. You pull the pins on all four corners like so. Then you can start folding them in. Now before we get the final two walls in, I am going to go ahead and grab the strap that comes with it and actually run that under. Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4 c18151- Video

Today on this 2016 Toyota Rav 4, we're going to be test fitting the 20 X 16 Curt Cargo Carrier part number C18151. This cargo carrier has a 500lbs carrying capacity and it has a mesh flow, which makes it easy to clean. It also has this rail all the way around the carrier, which you can use as a tie down port for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. The cargo carrier in this position measuring from the bumper to the outer rail here, we've added about 33 1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. The ground clearance is going to be about 10 1/2 inches. Then our closest point on the inner rail, that's going to be about 12 1/2 inches. The exhaust is going to be on the passenger side and faces down away from the cargo carrier, it's also about 20 inches or so away from the cargo carrier itself, so I wouldn't worry to much about any heat sensitive material going into the actual cargo carrier itself. Now with nothing in the cargo carrier, of course, we can actually have access to our rear hatch with no problems. more

The body where your cargo resides in is going to be all aluminum construction, the shank in the middle is going to be all steel with a protective black finish on top. Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2010 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be taking a look a the Stromberg Carlson 23 x 60 Cargo Carrier, Part Number CC-100. This cargo carrier has a nice expanded metal bottom, so you can usually wash it off, then keep all your dirt and debris to fall through. It's got a three inch side rail with small nice holes drilled in it for your tie down points. It's got a black powder coat finish to help with rust and corrosion. Let's give you some measurements to help you in your decision. At our lowest point our ground clearance is going to be about 9 1/2" to the bottom of the bolt that comes through here. The closest point of contact if you we're to slide all the way into your receiver it's going to be about 8 inches. Overall we've added 28" to the length our vehicle. You want to keep in mind that the RAV4 has a passenger side exhaust that exits straight back, which is about 12 1/2" away. more

Today on our 2015 Toyota Highlander we're going to be doing a test fit of the MaxxTow 21 inch by 48 inch aluminum cargo carrier. It's going to be part number NT70422. As you can see we've already got our cargo carrier on the back of our vehicle so you can see what it's going to look like with yours. This is going to be a sturdy construction on that 2 inch shank, attaching to our 2 inch receiver, and offering a 500 lb weight capacity, which is going to be more than enough to load up your cargo. We're going to get a few measurements, starting off with our closest distance. It's going to be about 6.5 inches from the back side of the bumper to the front side of the cargo carrier. Overall distance is going to be about 29.25 inches to the very back, and our ground clearance looks like it's going to be about 13.25 inches to the bottom side of the shank. Let's go ahead and open up our rear hatch and see what kind of clearance we have there. You can see that you're going to be able to get in to it completely unhindered while you don't have anything on your rack. more

Lets Go Aero Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota Highlander- Video

Today on our 2015 Toyota Highlander, we are going to be doing a test fit of a Lets Go Aero 32" by 48" Cargo Carrier, part number HCR222. As you can see we've already got it up here on our vehicle so you can see what it's going to look like on the back of yours. Let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be our first one, from the backside of the bumper to the front side of the rack at about eight and 1/8", overall distance that we've added to the vehicle is going to be about 42 1/4", with our rear ground clearance being about 13 3/4".Now that we've got those measurements let's go ahead and open up our hatch and see what kind of clearance we have there. Now that we've got our hatch opened up, you can see that you're going to have plenty of access to get in the backside and get out anything that you may need or anything that you may have left behind. We'll go ahead and bring it back down and we'll get our break over distance at which our hatch will make contact with anything we are trying to load. That distance looks like it's going to be about 20 3/4" before anything you stack on your cargo carrier will make contact with your hatch opening. Go ahead and close that back up. Our vehicle does have single exhaust and does exit downwards on the passenger side, so if you're going to be carrying anything that is heat sensitive or perishable, that might be a measurement that you might need at about 20 1/4".
