Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller Installation - 2011 Ford Explorer- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Ford Explorer, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Redarc Tow Pro Elite Proportional Trailer Brake Controller, part number 331-EBRH-ACCV2. Now, to help us with our installation, we're also going to be using the Universal Mounting Panel, part number 331-TPSI-001, and also the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers, part number 3035-P.Now, the really big benefit to this brake controller is the fact that we can virtually mount it anywhere. The main part of it is going to be hidden under the dash, so we're not going to have to worry about those big boxes, and we're not going to have a restriction on how it mounts. We can mount it in any direction under the dash, and so long as the cable will reach the knob, we can mount the knob just about anywhere in our vehicle.Here's what our brake controller looks like once we have it installed. This is going to be a lot smaller and more compact than most brake controllers because all we're going to have is this small dial with a light on it rather than having a huge box that we're stuck mounting underneath our dash somewhere where we could potentially hit our knees. Our brake controller is going to be a proportional one. more

Tekonsha Brake Controller 3064-P Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for electric brake controllers.This is going to allow you to easily connect your brake controller to your vehicle. The black end is going to connect to your brake controller at the back of that controller, just plugs right in and snaps into place. The other end, or the gray end, is going to plug into your vehicle. Now this is custom fit to work with your GMC Sierra 1500, with the factory tow package, as well as the Chevy Silverado 1500, with the tow package, and that's from years 2019 and newer.So this is going to mount up to a port underneath the dash on your driver's side. Speaker 1: Today, we're gonna be taking a look at Tucson's Actual Link Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for disc brakes, part number 335ACE-1600. You can also get this as a kit with a direct link NE brake controller, using part number 335ACT-1600-DLNE.This is what our actuator is gonna look like when it's installed. You can really pick any location that you'd like to install it. We've got it installed on our camper here, inside the front compartment. It comes with mounting brackets so it can be mounted at the bottom and attach it sitting upright and also a side bracket so you can mount it to the side of something and it has to be positioned upright, with the cap at the top, no matter where you position it.This actuator is designed to work with hydraulic disc brakes systems. We're going to be installing this in conjunction with the Tekonsha prodigy P3 trailer brake controller, part number 90195.Now, our adapter harness here is going to make wiring up our brake controllers much easier. All we're gonna have to do is plug into the existing port underneath our dash, and then plug this into our brake controller. Now, it's going to work with several different kinds of brake controllers, whether it be a time-activated brake controller, or a proportional brake controller, this adapter is going to make our life much easier when installing, and we're not going to have to run wires all the way from the back of our vehicle with the seven-way, all the way up front.Now, we're gonna need to go underneath our dash to find our factory port. Now, it's gonna be on the driver's side, underneath the right hand side of our dash. So if we come to our gas pedal and go straight up, we're gonna be looking for a port or a plug that looks similar to this, but it's gonna be the opposite. more

You can see it sits up nice and tight against our dash using the provided mounting pocket that it comes with. This is a proportional brake controller and what that means is that if you're applying your brakes gently in your vehicle, it'll apply the brakes gently on the trailer to match so you have a smooth and safe stop. If you're applying more pressure and slowing down more aggressively, it'll apply more power to your trailer brakes quicker as well so you can have a smooth, safe stop there as well.This brake controller will allow you to control up to for axles of trailer brakes, so if you're towing a small trailer or a large trailer it doesn't matter. Speaker 1: Today, on our 2015 Ford F250, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Direclink 00:00:05 network-enhanced proportional trailer brake controller, part number 335DL-200NE. To help us with our installation, we're also gonna be using the Tekonsha 00:00:16 plug-in wiring adaptor for electric brake controllers, part number 3034-P.Our Direclink brake controller is gonna be a truly proportional brake controller. It's gonna be plugged directly into our vehicle's computer system, and it's gonna monitor the braking system from our truck and apply them to our trailer.On the main home screen here, we're gonna have our brake scale, and we're gonna be able to adjust it from zero all the way to 20, one being very light, and 20 being very aggressive and heavy brakes. Now, the nice thing about this is that a lot of times, when we're driving down the road, we have a trailer. Going down the highway, you may want a little more brakes, but as soon as you get off the highway, the brakes may tend to lock up. So you're stuck with choosing a setting that'll be kind of good for both, but it's really not what you need. more

The big benefits of a brake controller communicating with the computer on our vehicle is that it's gonna give us a truly proportional braking. It's gonna be a lot better than the old time-delayed ones, because this is gonna be in real-time, and be a programmed amount of braking. It's not just gonna have a time and then shoot the brakes up. Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Nissan NV 2500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Nissan NV2500 we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller for one to four axles. Now it's going to be Part Number HM47295. To help us get it installed we're gong to be using the universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers, Part Number ETBC7, along with 10 feet of extra wire, Part Number ETBCXW.Here's what a brake controller looks like once we have it installed. This is the near proportional brake controller, which means that it's going to apply the brakes at the same time and intensity to our trailer as when we push on the brakes in our Nissan. It's going to be a big benefit over those time delay brake controllers because it's going to have an internal inertia sensor that's going to detect the deceleration or the slowing down of our Nissan and apply the brakes accordingly, wherein a time delay brake controller has a pre-set number and time that it's going to apply the brakes to our trailer.So this is going to be able to accommodate those different hills, different driving conditions, where the time delay one is going to be a pre-set braking amount, no matter how heavy the trailer is or the road conditions.The only stipulation how we're going to mount our brake control is it has to be on a level plane and that it's facing the direction of travel that we're going, so the bottom of the dash is a really easy spot to mount it. We can still see the display and reach the manual override very easily.The manual override is going to be a button, so we can just squeeze and we can see that the numbers are going to show up on the display, and it's going to go from zero all the way up to 99, and that's going to be a percentage of how much power is going to our trailer brakes.On the top here we're going to have our gain setting, which will go all the way up to 99 and all the way down in increments of five down to 5%. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller Installation - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Acura MDX, we're gonna be installing REDARC's Tow Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller, part number 331-EBRH-ACCV2. This brake controller is gonna allow you to hook up any trailer with up to three axles and provide power brake assist. What sets this REDARC unit apart from other braking systems is how clean it looks on the install, all the options of places you can put the small remote monitor control knob, and the way the actual control unit doesn't need to be mounted right here underneath the dash, right in your way. You can tuck it up underneath your dash 'cause you don't even need to access it.The control module mounted underneath the dash has an internal inertia sensor that will allow it to be fully proportional when braking on your trailer. You can adjust the brake force from 10 to zero on the control knob, and if you press in on the knob and hold it, that will manually apply the brakes. This is great for testing everything out and making sure it's working properly. more

What's really great about this brake controller compared to others on the market, is its remote mounted control knob. Cause many brake controllers, you're limited to the location where you can mount it because of its large size. And they also have many orientations in which they need to be mounted. With this option, the control module can be mounted behind the dash, hidden away at the appropriate location, and you can have your remote mounted controls that you need to access in any location that you want. It really opens up the options for you.And since it's just a control knob with the LEDs, it's much more pleasing to the eye. more

To help us to complete this installation, we're going to be using Curt's universal wiring adapter for Curt trailer brake controllers, part number C51515. This is what it's going to look like when your brake controller's installed. You're only going to be able to see the control knob and its indicator LEDs. Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2013 Honda Odyssey- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Honda Odyssey, we're going to be installing the Tekonsha Voyager trailer brake controller, part number 39510. And to assist with this installation, we're going to be using the universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers, part ETBC7. And we'll also be using Tekonsha's universal wiring harness, part number 20127.This brake controller is going to provide you a brake signal through your seven pole connector back to your trailer. This is one of the more basic brake controllers out there, really just has the necessities, it doesn't have any the extra features. It can be mounted anywhere on a 90 degree plane and is not auto leveling. But has that level adjustment located here on the side.There's a fine power adjustment located on the other side. more
