Thule Helium Platform XT Bike Rack Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com Today, we're gonna be checking out the Thule Helium XT, on our 2015, Toyota 4Runner. Just a little upgraded version of the Helium. What they did is, they made it a little beefier, so it can hold a little bit heavier bikes. So, it's gonna have a weight capacity of 45 pounds, per bike now. And then it's also gonna have a maximum wheelbase of 52". The other thing to think about here is it's gonna work with wheel sizes from 26", all the way up to 29". more

And what I mean by that, we are gonna have 840 pound capacity rating here for each one of our bikes on our platform. And it is going to be a little limiting on your wheel basis with only about 47 inches at your max. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota Venza nv22g- Video
Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby, and today, we're taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 here in the back of our 2021 Toyota Venza. So this is gonna be the premier two-bike platform rack carrier here at etrailer.com for a lot of reasons, the Kuat NV has a lot of features to offer and it looks pretty good while it does it. Today, we are working in the gunmetal gray where you're seeing this really nice gray on the platform and some copper orange accents. Now, the NV is also available in a metallic black or a matte black if you we're to go to the Kuat NV base, and we'll kind of break that down a little bit more towards the end of the video, but I really do like this carrier, it is the premier carrier for a lot of reasons. Just to name one of them, we are gonna have a 60 pound weight capacity with this guy, which makes it awesome for a host of different bikes up into your heavy e-bikes and those big old mountain bikes still getting on here and doing the job. Now, I will say, e-bikes are getting heavier and heavier, and if you find yourself over that 60 pound weight capacity, you could look at something like either the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack or my favorite, the Yakima OnRamp. more

It has the features and beautiful design you would expect from a Kuat bike rack, but that is at a more affordable price. So one of its features is that it can tilt away, and to do so, you would pull this lever right over here, and that allows it to drop down to a tilt. And you'll want to do that if you want to access your hatch. Now, what I noticed here on our Sienna is that as the door does come up, it looks like it comes close, but there's still clearance, and that gives you the opportunity to get into your trunk, maybe grab your bags, your water, your helmets without having to take the bike off. more

You have that unique, goalpost design that makes it easier to put your bikes up and on the bike rack as well as how it has all that nice features you'd expect from a Kuat bike rack at a lower price. When you are looking at platform racks, usually you start getting way, way more expensive, especially versus your four-bike hanging style carriers. However, with the Destination we aren't going to be having to be breaking the bank to get a lot of great features from our platform rack. more

First impression of the rack in the back of our Highlander, I think it looks super simple and it's pretty compact, don't take up a bunch of space. So honestly, if I was someone who just rode every now and again, this will probably be a pretty good choice, you know, it stores up very compact don't take up a whole lot of space when you're keeping it in your garage or whatever. So, it's a efficient way to get your bikes to and from the trails. With that said though, it is gonna hold up to a total of two bikes, and the way it's gonna do it is by using this frame hook here. more

So, the Inno Tire Hold is a great bike rack, if you're looking for a lot of weight capacity, a very easy way to load and unload your bikes and capability or it fits with the oversized spare tire on your FJ Cruiser. See the FJ cruiser has a limited number of bike racks that can fit just because of that spare tire in the back you need some extra clearance, both length-wise as well as height-wise. So it is nice to see that the Inno Tire Hold is a compatible fit. Hi everyone, it's Eve Angeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at our Kuat Sherpa 2-Bike platform rack, here on our 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser. So the Kuat Sherpa is a great bike rack when it comes to the middle of the road bikes. So not your super heavy bikes, not your flat tire bikes, but if you still want a bike rack that can or gives you like the premium capabilities you would expect from a Kuat bike rack, without the super high price tag of a series Kuat NV, you would go for the Kuat Sherpa. Now our FJ Cruiser right here has an oversized spare tire, so we are kind of limited when it comes to bike racks that can fit into the hitch. So, it is really nice to see that the Kuat Sherpa is one of the few that does. So, we'll take a look at one of the features, which is that this bike rack can tilt away. more

This is going to be a platform style bike rack that holds four bikes and it's going to hold the bikes by the tire. So that's what makes it unique. I like these better because some other ones, the platforms always have the mast in the center and have the hook down on the frame. That's going to make frame contact, and when the frame contacts involved, you don't want to do carbon fiber bikes or alternative frame bikes are just hard to get that hook to go down all right. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp 2-bike platform rack for your electric bikes here on our 2021 Toyota RAV4. So guys, we all know those heavy e-bikes are definitely coming and they just keep getting heavier. What's great about this guy, we are gonna have 66 pounds of weight capacity. That's about six pounds heavier than most of the standards are for your heaviest bike racks out there. So I love to see Yakima expanding that weight capacity to go ahead and start accounting for our electric bikes. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota RAV4- Video
What's going on everybody Adam here with etrailer, today we got a 2021 Toyota RAV4, and we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 bike rack. So, this gonna give you a good place to put two bikes and bring them to, and from the trails. And we are gonna have a little bit of limitations, one, this isn't gonna be best for the carbon fiber bikes, just 'cause we do have some frame contact, and it's not gonna be the best for some of the heavier bikes like e-bikes, fat tire bikes. One, these cradles are only gonna accept up to three inches in width, so no fat tire bikes. And it's gonna have a capacity of 35 pounds per bike. So your e-bikes definitely are not gonna be ideal for this rack. more

So this rack is one of my favorites just because 80 pounds per bike. 80 pounds per bike. That's crazy compared to all the other ones that we have. So, this isn't really going to limit you on any of those heavier bikes that you have. more

Curt 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at our Curt bike rack for two electric bikes right here on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. So the best thing about this bike rack is its weight capacity. It has 130 pound weight capacity, which is 65 pounds per bike. So if you have your extra heavy electric bikes and you need that extra heavy weight capacity that some of your other bike racks do not have, this is what would go with. Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp Two-Bike Platform Rack for your electric bikes, here on our 2018 Toyota 4Runner. So, this is gonna be an excellent way of assisting you, of actually getting your heavy, old E-bikes up onto this carrier. As the name suggests, it is gonna come with a ramp, just to make it a lot easier of actually getting our bikes on here. How it works, simply slot that onto either side of your platform, that's gonna give you a decent little ramp to get your bike up on there. Now, we've already, actually got our bike on there with the ramp today. more

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hey everybody Zach here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima Holdup, on our 2015 Toyota 4runner. It's going to be a Platform Style Rack, that's going to be a Wheel Mount Style. So this is going to work out great, with a lot of different bikes, whether you're doing a road bike or a mountain bike that's carbon maybe. Since we're getting that Wheel Mount design, we're not going to have to worry about any frame contact, which is great. Now when it comes to, carrying a lot of different types of bikes, it's going to work with tire sizes of 20 inches up to 29 inches and we're going to get, a 3 inch max width on that tire width, unless you're riding at 29er, if you're riding a 29er, we're only going to be able to go to 2.5 on that tire width, so that's something to keep in mind. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime- Video
What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out the Thule Hitching Post on our 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime. So this is gonna be a hanging style bike rack, which means, the bike hangs here in these cradles, on these arms. So I would not suggest using a carbon fiber bike, carbon fiber frame bikes, sorry. This is an aluminum frame bike we got up here. So it's gonna be just fine, no scratches or anything like that. more
