Curt 5th Wheel Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Ford F-150

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Curt custom in-bed wiring for fifth wheel and goosenecks on a 2017 Ford F150. If you have a gooseneck or fifth wheel, you have a seven pole from your trailer that you need to plug in and instead of draping it over your tailgate and trying to get into your factory seven way you can get this harness extension which plugs into your factory seven way and allows you to plug in in-bed making it nice and easy to have your plug right here. It's gonna keep that cable nice and protected in the bed as well. Super easy to do. You are gonna need to drill a hole and being that this is an aluminum bed, it's nice, they actually come with some zerk fittings that you're gonna put in there that will allow you to get this on your aluminum bed with no problem. It's not gonna cause any rust or corrosion long term. more

Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Ford F-150

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we've got a 2018 Ford F150 and we're gonna be installing and taking a look at our Curt in-bed wiring kit for fifth wheels. Now adding a kit like this is going to give you the ability to plug your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer into a bed plug that is essentially extended from your bumper plug. You may see on the road, a lot of people will have that wiring draped over their tailgate. Well that's going to be annoying to have to drape it over. You can cause damage to your paint, anything like that. more

Curt 5th Wheel Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2019 Ford F-150

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2019 Ford F-150 we're gonna be showing you how to install the Curt In Bed Wiring Harness. But before we get into that why don't we just take a minute, check this out and make sure it's gonna work for you. For those of you planning on pulling a fifth wheel trailer like our neighbor here today or even a gooseneck, having a a seven-way wiring connector in the bed is definitely gonna be beneficial. You know, it's the right way to do things. That way when you're hooked up to your trailer you take that connector, plug it right into the seven-way and you're good to go you know you're not gonna have to deal with draping it over your tailgate, plugging it in down there at the bumper and then you know, risk scratching your paint up or whatever or potentially it coming disconnected or putting, you know a strain on that wire or anything like that. more

So this is what our trailer connector looks like installed on our vehicle. Now, granted, we have a few different options to physically mount the trailer connector. Those options do not come with the kit here, so you will need to figure that out in advance. But we do have a series of brackets you can purchase, and we'll go over that a little bit later. more

Hola, neighbors It's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Tekonsha 7-pole wiring kit on a 2020 Ford F150. So this system is going to allow you to hook into your trailer and give you all your signals for breaking, lighting, reverse, whatever it may be, as well as your brake controller. And this is going to keep you safe and legal while towing a trailer. The system itself is rather easy and ties into your factory tow harness wiring. Now you also have the spring loaded door, that has a nice gasket. So this can stay on the back of your truck, and water or any road grime will not build up in here. more

Pollak 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2019 Ford F-150

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Pollak In-Bed Gooseneck or Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness here on a 2019 Ford F-150. So, our in-bed wiring harness here is gonna be designed for when we're towing Fifth Wheel or Gooseneck trailers. Now, I will say that most of the time, you can actually just use the factory-mounted trailer connector on the bumper, but it's really best when you're towing your in-bed trailers that you install a trailer connector in the bed here, that's gonna make it much more accessible for the wiring harness coming off the trailer, and we don't have to worry about draping everything down over the tailgate, or our wiring harness getting caught up on the hitch or any of those other components. So, here's what our trailer connector is gonna look like installed. Now, so long as you do a good job, it remains a pretty factory-like install look. It really doesn't stand out in this location right here behind the cargo hook and below the switch, is really gonna be the perfect location. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2019 Ford F-150, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness. So one of the great things about this wiring kit is the fact that it's just going to more or less plug right in. So it's super easy. Regardless, if your truck has a tow package or not the factory wiring is still going to be there for us to use. So the seven way wiring more or less just plugs right in. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2019 Ford F-150

Hey, everybody, how's it going Today, we're going to be going over and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector here on our 2019 Ford F-150. So if your F-150 didn't come with a factory seven-way, it came with either a factory four-way or no trailer connector at all, this seven-way kit here is going to be an excellent option for you so you can really utilize your truck for what it is and start towing. We're going to be able to tow the smaller trailers, as well as some of the larger trailers near the upper end of the towing capacity of our vehicle here. Since those trailers are more than likely going to have brakes, we are going to need a seven-way way of some sort, which is why this T-connector is going to be an excellent option. So, in regards to installation, it's actually going to be entirely plug and play. We don't need to do any cutting or splicing into our factory vehicle wiring, so we don't have to worry about any warranty or causing any issues to the vehicle itself. There are, however, two things you see here, which you don't get in our kit, and that's going to be this long no-drill bracket here, as well as this other bracket that our trailer connector actually attaches to. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Ford F-150

Hey everybody, Ryan here at e-trailer. Today on our 2018 Ford F-150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the CURT T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, with the seven-way connector. So you'd want to use the seven-way for a couple of different reasons. One your trailer that you plan on towing this style of connector, or you plan on towing a trailer that has a brake controller. So this is going to give you the capability to do both since it just taps into our factory wiring, more or less just plugs right in that factory wiring is already going to be pre ran and allow this to put out that electric brake signal, as well as that auxiliary power signal. That way you're able to charge up any batteries that you might have on your trailer, while you're towing it down the road, such as a small pop-up camper or maybe a utility trailer that has a dump bed.So this harness is going to eliminate the need to piece together a whole entire kit and run a bunch of wiring like you normally would have to do. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2018 Ford F-150 we're going to be taking a look at and showing how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with a seven-way connector. What I've found about nines times out of ten, these F-150 are going to come equipped with a factory four-way connector. Well that's great unless you need a seven-way. That's where this is going to come into play. It's simply just going to plug right in to the factory wiring, give us that seven-way function, as well as maintaining our factory four-way plug too. What's great about this setup is that we're still going to be able to have our four-way for smaller trailers, as well as our seven-way for larger trailers, campers, anything like that. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Ford F-150

Today on our 2017 Ford F150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with a 7-way trailer connector. Here's what our wiring's going to look like once we have it installed. Now keep in mind that the brackets to mount it up are not going to come with the kit, so you may want to pick up a 7-pull bracket and a long bracket to mount to your hitch. Our wiring is going to give us a 7-way RV style connector so we'll have all of our light functions, our clearance lights, turn signals, brakes and reverse lights, and the option to put in a brake controller later on down the road. The nice thing about our wiring is that it is custom designed for our Ford F150 so we're not going to have to cut or splice any wires. It's just going to simply plug in with a t-connector and if we have the factory 4-way on the back of our truck, we can also keep that, so now we can tow a couple different kinds of trailers. If you're looking to replace your factory 7-way, or add one to the 4-pull you already have, this is going to be a great option so we can continue to tow and be safe going down the road.So now we've taking a look at our wiring and seen the end result, let's show you how to get it installed. To begin installation, we're going to move underneath, and if we follow our 4-way wire and we follow up it will connect to this connector right here. It's going to be a black connector. more

The first thing we need to do is locate a suitable spot to install our adapter. We're going to go over here on the driver's side right in this area and we'll use a hole saw to then cut our required hole. Now, we'll take our harness that has the 2 ends that will tap into factory wiring and we'll drop it down through the hole. We'll take our 90 degree connector here that will plug into our adapter and put a little of the included terminal grease there just to make sure we have a nice corrosion free connection and it will be safe from moisture. I'll just dab a littl on in there. I'll smear it around like so. more

Today we are going to install part number 118316 from Tow Ready, and this is a T-1 connector we are going to install on a 1994 Ford pickup. This is the point in the harness that we need to split apart and attach our T connector. It is right behind the bumper on the drivers side. There is a little button you push down. It is kind of hard to see on the end. You push it down and it comes apart. And you just reinstall the T connector in the middle of it and then make sure you clip it back together. And it might be a good idea to go ahead and use a zip tie to tie it off somewhere, and that is pretty much all there is to it. Just route your 4-pole wire where you want it along the frame and out by the hitch. Just zip tie it to secure it to the frame and keep it from bouncing around. Then we can route our wire out to the hitch. We will just put it by the chain loop here. more
