Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at B&W's the Patriot 18K Fifth Wheel on a 2013 Ford F-250. Now, today we have our fifth wheel in a 6 1/2' bed and that's why this is a great option. B&W makes some awesome fifth wheel hitches. They're some of my personal favorites. The quality's fantastic, but this one in particular, if your weight capacity is right at 18,000 or less, is gonna be a great option because, when you need to maneuver, you need a little bit more clearance so you don't hit your cab corners, you can just simply pull the latch, slide this back, it'll lock into place and now you can maneuver without having to worry about damaging your cab. We have our Patriot mounted into Demco's Premier Series rail kit. more

You know, you essentially just drop this right in, lock it down, and that's really all there is to it. Now, as time has progressed, trucks have now started coming with an OEM prep package. And what that means, you might have heard of it as the puck system. That means you have drop-in spots where arms can attach for a fifth wheel and that makes it nice and easy. You don't have to install anything, because from the factory it's ready to be able to drop a fifth wheel in place. Now for something like this with a six foot bed, you are gonna wanna look at something with a sliding base and that's where the companion, I think is one of the best that you can get on the market. more

Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with S25 Slider Review - 2020 Ram 2500- Video
Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Curt A25 fifth wheel hitch on an S25 slider with the OEM prep package. So, we have a standard rail system that works with that on a 2020 Ram 2500. Now, this system is gonna be a great configuration for those of you with a six foot bed and the OEM puck package on your Ram, and reason being is that's gonna allow you to slide as you need to make sharper turns and it's gonna just to head back, and that way you can avoid hitting your cab corners when you have to make those sharp turns. Now, this system, having the OEM puck systems, means that the rail, means that it's gonna bolt up to it and you're gonna get everything be able to drop in an ISR standard configuration, meaning that you can really drop pretty much any fifth wheel in and they do have ones that are already set up for the OEM prep package that drop in. The downside with that is unless you're planning on keeping your truck forever, that fifth wheel is gonna have to stay with that whereas with this system, you can swap out to a different fifth wheel or if you get a different truck, you can take this, get different rails, if it's a Ford or a Chevy, and be able to adapt it and still be able to use your fifth wheel. more

Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Review - 2017 Ford F-150- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch on a 2017 Ford F-150. And when getting a 5th wheel hitch on a truck, you do wanna take into account the bed length. And this one being a relatively short bed at 5-1/2' means that you're gonna need something that's going to be able to slide back to make those turns. That way you're not making damage on your cab corners. And this one's a little bit different than some of the others on the market and probably the best fit for this because this auto slides. So as your pin box goes into these channels, when you turn, it'll actually rotate and automatically slide this back, giving you that clearance when you make your turns without having to go out and pull a lever and allow it to slide, it's gonna do it itself. more

Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with S20 Slider Review - 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video
Hey guys, this is Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 Chevy Silverado 2,500 and we're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna go over a few details of the Curt S20 sliding base combined with the Curt A20 fifth wheel hitch. Now when we go over all these features of this combo there is also a Curt A16 head that is available that fits just like it does in here. Everything on the head itself is going to be the same except the weight capacity is gonna be a little bit lighter. This head is gonna have a 20,000 pound capacity and the A16 is going to have a 16,000 pound capacity. And one of the biggest downfalls of hauling a fifth wheel trailer in a regular bed truck, this is a six foot eight bed truck and one of the downfalls is that you don't have enough room to turn because the nose of your camper will make contact with the cab of your truck. more

Today we have a 2023 Chevy Silverado 2,500 and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you some of the features of this BMW Patriot fifth wheel sliding hitch. Now right off the bat, what's gonna make this hitch fit perfectly in this truck is the fact that our truck is a six and three quarter foot bed. So, if you have a standard fifth wheel, those are typically gonna be best used in an eight foot bed, cuz you'll have more than enough cab clearance. That foot and a quarter extra that you get from an eight foot bed really helps to get you some cab clearance. Well, essentially that's what we're doing with this sliding hitch. more

These custom outboard brackets are going to dramatically reduce the amount of drilling and time that is required to install your fifth wheel trailer hitch. And these are custom fit brackets that are designed to fit your 1999 to 2010 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty and then your 2008 to 2010 Ford F-450. Now these brackets are going to mount beneath your truck bed to give you the attachment points that you need for your fifth wheel rails using existing holes in your truck's frame, minimizing insulation time helping minimize drilling and measuring and it cuts down that installation time by more than half compared with universal bracket systems. The biggest difference with outboard brackets is that they are designed to install outside your truck's frame so the result is a much simpler installation process where most underbed components can be easily avoided because you're working outside of your frame rails and you also have easier access with your tools and more room to work making the whole process less of a pain. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on 2023 GMC Sierra 2,500, we're going to be checking out the B&W Companion Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch. So right away the Companion, this is going to be designed to work with the B&W Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitches. And there's a couple of reasons that I can think of why you'd want to use the Companion over the standard type fifth wheel head that uses the traditional type rails. And one of them is that you have a couple of different types of trailers. So if you have a gooseneck and a fifth wheel, having the gooseneck hitch allow you to pull that trailer and then by picking up the Companion, it'll let you drop this fifth wheel right into that gooseneck hitch and hook up to your fifth wheel trailer. more

It's the Curt OEM 5th Wheel Adapter Rails. The nice part about this kit is that it's gonna fit directly into your puck system of many different brands but especially the '23 GMC 3500. All you have to do is lift it up, set it over top of your puck system and drop it in place. To lock it down, you simply flip these rails or these handles, insert your pin, get these three holes lined up, and then latch your pin. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we've got a 2018 Ford F-150 with the five-and-a-half-foot bed, and we're gonna be showing you the Demco Autoslide 13,000 pound 5th Wheel Hitch. This is gonna be one of the best options for a 5th wheel hitch that you can pair with a short-bed truck that is a five and a half or a six-foot bed truck. The way that this hitch works is that you're going to lock your kingpin into the head, and then the kingpin will no longer rotate inside here. It's going to take this, these sides and rotate this whole head, and the 5th wheel will back itself up as you're turning. So if you go to back into a campsite and you're turning, this is going to turn, and as it turns, it'll go back, and it'll give you 22 and a half inches of travel. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt A20 fifth wheel hitch with the S20 slider. This is going to be a full kit that drops into your ISR rail system and it's gonna give you a 20,000-pound towing capacity. Now, why you might want a kit like this is if you've got a truck bed that's shorter than eight feet. Not recommended for anything shorter than six feet. But in that range there, where your bed is a little bit shorter and you find yourself maybe with limited turning clearance for your truck and your fifth wheel, this can get you an additional 12 inches of clearance with the S20 slider, allowing the whole fifth wheel assembly to move back 12 inches, get you that additional clearance from your fifth wheel, and then move back whenever you're done getting that turning clearance. more

Now, this is gonna work for the OEM prep package that we have here on our 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500. The puck system or OEM prep package, as they call it that a lot of newer trucks are seeing are really nice because you can simply drop in a 5th Wheel, but, if you already have a 5th Wheel and it's not compatible, it's normally in a rail system. Well, you can pick up this adapter to make that fifth wheel head work. Now, these are standard rails as far as the industry goes so it's gonna work with most 5th Wheel heads. The only one that really has compatibility issues, is gonna be the BMW Sliding Companion and that's just because of the clearance as it slides. more

Now the Patriot is going to be a good choice for a lot of you RAM owners, because the bed sides are naturally a little bit higher than some of the other brands of trucks out there. This one has a bunch of different adjustability and that's just due to the amount of holes here that you can mount your arms. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the BMW Patriot sliding fifth wheel on a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500. Now this is a particularly great option for this truck in particular because it's a six and a half foot bed. This is a sliding fifth wheel, so if you've ever pulled a fifth wheel with a short bed, you do kinda have to worry about cab clearance, especially with your campers. If you cut too hard, it's gonna smack the side of your truck and damage it in the process. And the great part about this is you can slide this super easy. Just lift that handle, push this back, and it's gonna lock in place. more

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with slider. This 5th wheel hitch is going to mount in the bed of your 2020 and newer Chevrolet or GMC shortbed truck with the factory installed towing prep package. This is going to give you 14 inches of additional clearance, so you have a little bit more breathing room when you're making those tight turns while towing your 5th wheel trailer, so you can worry less about your trailer making contact with your cab and causing damage. The head will slide towards the tailgate when you turn at a slow speed and then it will slide back forward, towards your cab when you straighten out, so that it's in the proper position in front of your rear axle for normal towing. This does have a rack in pinion gears, gear set that's going to create a nice smooth, controlled automatic motion, so you're not gonna have to worry about getting out of your truck to operate it, like you would with a manual slider. more
