Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco Autoslide Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider. And this fifth wheel hitch is gonna mount in your short bed truck's six and a half foot bed to give you 14 inches of additional clearance. So it's gonna be a bit more breathy room for you with making those tight turns while you're towing your fifth wheel trailer, so you can worry less about your trailer making contact with your cab, potentially causing damage. The head will slide towards your tailgate when you're turning at slow speeds, and then it will slide back toward the cab when you straighten out so that it's in the correct position for your normal travel. The underside is going to have a rack and pinion gears that are going to create a smooth, controlled automatic motion as you can see there on the screen from a similar model. more

B and W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider Review- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the B&W Patriot 18K Sliding Fifth Wheel. The whole purpose of a sliding type fifth wheel hitch like this one here is to allow us to get more cab clearance essentially. And so you're gonna find these a lot in short-bed type trucks, right Because in short beds this will sit a little bit closer up to the cab and not give us that extra clearance that we need. That way when we are trying to make real tight turns at the campsite or maneuver around into a parking lot or something like that, what we want to avoid is keeping this in this fixed position, making that tight turn and end up crashing our trailer into the cab corner of her truck right, not good. So with this setup, when you run into that type of situation, you're able to slide this back. more

This is gonna be a great option for those of you who don't already have a fifth wheel installation kit installed on your truck, and if you frequently switch between towing a fifth wheel trailer and needing full bed access, this is gonna be a great option for you because this is going to be very lightweight. It only weighs about 70 pounds, so it is 65% lighter than your traditional fifth wheel hitches. And so, it is going to make it much easier for you to get in and out of your truck bed. Despite being light, it is a sturdy steel construction, so it is going to give a gross towing weight capacity of 20,000 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of 5,000 pounds. more

Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Review- Video
Hey guys, Kevin at etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at the CURT E16 5th Wheel Hitch. Operating this hitch is super simple. While your handle is down, it's not gonna be able to come out so it's locked in place so you know that your hitch isn't gonna be able to uncouple from your king pin. If you lift your handle up, you can kind of feel as you're lifting it up, it kind of pops up out of here so that you can actually uncouple. You can pull that slide jaw out, lock it in place and then you can also recouple up. So as you're pulling up to your trailer it is gonna tilt down. more

Those of you familiar with towing, chances are pretty good you've heard of the BMW name and there's a reason why they make really good parts. Everything's well-built and generally speaking is overkill, right And I always find myself kind of recommending BMW parts and is probably what I would use myself. And with that said, you know, one of the things that this hitch is gonna do is slide back. And the whole reason for that is for those of you with short beds, all right And, the reason that it's a good idea to use a sliding type hitch if you have a short bed is because you just don't have the clearance like you do with the long bed, right A long bed, the hitch is gonna sit further back and you're gonna have a greater distance here. more

And today we're putting it on the Curt adapter for the above-bed puck system that comes OEM with this 2022 Ram 2500. Right away we wanna point out that we are in a shorter six foot bed on this Ram. So this would really only work with a longer bed and eight for one just because of it's a static hitch, it's not gonna move around. So it would work with a slider. more

B and W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today we'll be showing you how to install the B&W Companion OEM 5th wheel hitch with slider base here on our 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty. If you own a newer Ford truck and you have the Ford towing prep package in it and you're wanting a 5th wheel hitch that can give you a little bit more turning clearance because you have a shorter bed and just can't make those tight turns like you could if you had an eight foot bed. Then the B&W Companion with slider base is going to be the hitch for you. With this slider base, it has feet designed to drop straight into the puck system that comes with your Ford towing prep package. The handles are super easy to use, simply just pull them out to unlock your hitch or, once you have your hitch dropped in, just pull 'em in towards the base and then lock 'em up with your pin and clip. This makes installation and removal for an empty bed to tow any other items, maybe you're moving some furniture, maybe you just wanna load this up with some other gear and don't want to have that hitch in the way, just makes it super easy to get it outta here. more

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco Hijacker UMS Double Pivot 5th Wheel Hitch. This 5th wheel hitch will mount into the bed of your 2016 through 2019 Chevrolet and GMC trucks with the factory installed towing prep package, and this will obviously then allow you to then tow your 5th wheel trailer with your tow vehicle. It is gonna be very easy to get installed since we're using that factory prep package, we'll just pull out the pins on all four of these feet, we'll open them up and then set them down into the four receiver pucks that are built in to the factory underbed rails. Once they're all installed, we'll just turn those to lock them in place, and we'll pass our pin through there, so it is going to allow us to take full advantage of that factory prep system, and so that we don't have to worry about above bed rails, so we're gonna have full bed access just like our truck is intended for. This does have a sturdy steel construction, so it is going to give us a gross towing weight of 31,000 pounds. more

It's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're actually at Ozarks International Raceway if you can't tell by the sight and sounds behind us. And I'm here with John, and we walked past John, he's got his truck and trailer. He's also got his STI over there that he's been tracking and we notice he has a companion fifth wheel B&W hitch here and we just kinda wanna see what he thinks about it. So tell me a little bit about it. Yeah, I pull a 2021 Momentum 381M that weighs about 14,000 pounds empty. It's been an awesome hitch. more

Hi there, GMC owners. Today on your 2020 GMC Sierra 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, Curt's A16 Sliding 5th Wheel Head. This is a sliding fifth-wheel assembly which is great for vehicles that have a short truck bed. If you've got a full truck bed then you really don't need to worry about these and you probably won't need one ever. But if you have a short truck bed, the clearance between your trailer and the cab of your truck may be too small when making extreme turns. It's not uncommon for a fifth wheel that's sitting in this position here on our 90-degree turn, for that cab and trailer to connect here on the corners. more

Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2016 to 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 trucks with the OEM prep package, and on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this will let you easily transfer your existing 5th wheel hitch from a previous truck to the new factory underbed puck equip trucks. This will convert the factory underbed system to the standard 5th wheel base rails. Now, they do use a quarter-turn anchoring system for quick installation and removal, wanna zoom in to show you a close up of that. more

B and W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch Installation - 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the BMW Companion OEM fifth wheel trailer hitch here on a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3,500. For starters, this is a fixed fifth wheel hitch but it's also available with a sliding base as well depending on your trailer and your bed lengths. Now, generally speaking, the long beds are gonna be able to use the fixed hitch. Whereas the short beds are gonna have to use the sliding hitch. However, there are a few exceptions to that so it would truly best to just measure your trailer and the overhang you have on the nose to ensure it's not gonna come in contact with the cab. So this particular model of this hitch here is gonna be designed for trucks with the factory prep package, or the factory puck system, whatever you wanna refer to that as. more
