Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And, today, we're taking a look and installing the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan. The great part is it's a hidden cross tube, meaning the only thing you're really gonna see exposed from your vehicle is gonna be the 1 1/4-inch receiver tube opening. Now being a smaller size than the standard two inch means that you're gonna be a little bit limited when it comes to ball mounts, bike racks, or cargo carriers. But I have one of these on my vehicle as well, and it hasn't stopped me from being able to get accessories for it. You'll just have to make sure that you are picking it up for a 1 1/4. more

Now here's how your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on Tiguan and the great part is it's a hidden cross tube which means the only thing that you're gonna see is the receiver opening here and the rest of it hides behind the fascia to give you a nice clean OEM-style look. Now this is a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening which is pretty well the standard when it comes to hitches which means you're gonna have tons of options when it comes to bike racks, cargo carriers, or even a ball mount. And all of your accessories are gonna stay in place with a five eights pin and clip which is not included with the hitch. A lot of times your accessories though will come with one but if you wanted to pick up a locking version, those are really nice, you can leave your accessories on, lock it in place and know that no one's gonna walk away with it. Hey guys, this is Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan and we're gonna show you how to install the EcoHitch two-inch hitch receiver. Adding a two-inch hitch receiver to your Tiguan is gonna give you many different options to be able to carry bike racks, tow a small trailer, carry a cargo carrier to be able to get more of that gear to and from your destination. Now, other than the usefulness itself, I really like the fact that the EcoHitch is gonna be hidden up behind the bumper and the hitch receiver tube itself is the only thing that you're gonna see. In addition, you're going to get a mounting bracket for your wiring if you so decide to put in either a four pole or a seven pole. Hey guys, Kevin here with the etrailer and today I'll gonna be showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver here on our 2022 Volkswagen Jetta. Typically when you have only a one and a quarter inch receiver opening all you're really gonna be putting in here is your bike racks, your cargo carriers and other hitch mounted accessories. You won't typically be towing a trailer but in the event that you have a small enough trailer maybe you get like a kayak trailer and you need to tow with it, there are safety chain loops already welded onto our hitch right here. You are just going to need to make sure that you go ahead and get your 4-pole wiring so you can transfer your light signals from your Jetta up to that trailer. And if you need help doing that, go ahead and reach out to our experts via the S expert link on every product page and we can help find the correct wiring harness for your vehicle. Now when it comes to capacities, this hitch only has a 2,000 pound gross towing weight capacity and a 200 pound tongue weight capacity so you're gonna really wanna keep that in mind when you're adding on your accessories or trying to tow a trailer. more

Now if you plan on towing a trailer you have some nice rolled style safety chain loops here which are gonna be great for your standard S hooks. Even a larger clevis style no problem to hook that up. And if you do plan on towing, you're gonna want to adhere to the weight capacity of the hitch as well as the vehicle. And these are pretty solid numbers. Your gross trailer weight rating which is gonna be the weight of the trailer plus the accessories loaded up. more

Hi there Volkswagen owners, today in our 2019 Volkswagen Golf R we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install EcoHitch's Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver. And this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. The majority of the hitch is gonna be completely hidden behind the bumper, so you're just gonna see the receiver here at the back. The EcoHitches are made of recycled metal, so if you're looking to reduce your carbon footprint, this can be one of the best options for that. It does have a textured black powder coat finish on it, so it does blend in with the vehicle. Today on our 2017 Volkswagen Jetta, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the current Class 1 custom for Trailer Hitch receiver, part number C11474. So here's where our hitch is gonna look like, once we have it installed on our Jetta. It is gonna sit right below the bumper and that cross tube is gonna be visibile just right below. Now our hitch is a Class 1, which means it's gonna give us that inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening. And it's gonna be great for adding a bike rack or a cargo carrier onto the back of our Jetta. Now, the way we're gonna mount all of our accessories, is to the hitch pin hole here on the side and it gonna accept a standard half inch pining clip. more

But before we do that, why don't you check it out and make sure that this is the right setup for you So first and foremost, the main thing that's really going to separate this hitch from a lot of the others, is the fact that you can remove the receiver tube opening whenever you're not using the hitch, and what that's going to, you know, allow to happen is, you know, we're going to be able to maintain a 100% factory type appearance on the back of our Tiguan. You know, you're not even going to be able to tell there's a hitch here at all, unless you're literally on the ground looking up, trying to find it, you know, but other than that, you're never going to know it's there. Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas- Video
Rob: Hey everybody, it's Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Draw-Tite Class II Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. Now, I think our hitch has a really clean, almost factory look to it, and that's because the crosstube's completely hidden by the bumper, and the only thing we're going to be seeing is the receiver tube sticking out. Now it is a class II, so it's going to give us that 2" by 2" receiver tube opening, and it is going to be great for bike racks, cargo carriers, a lot of recreational uses, as well as some light-duty towing.But regardless of how you're going to be using your hitch, all your accessories are going to mount to the hitch pinhole here on the side. Our hitch is going to accept a standard 1/2" pin and clip. Now these are not going to come with the hitch, but you can find them here at etrailer.com along with some locking devices to make sure your accessories are secure, and anti-rattle devices to cut down on the annoying rattling sound while we're driving down the road.You do need a spot to hook up your safety chain so we can safe and legal. Now we have a loop style welded to the bottom of the receiver tube, and you can see there's plenty of room to get the hooks in place. more

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Volkswagen GTI- Video

And today we're going to take a look at the EcoHitch with a two-inch receiver tube on our 2016 Volkswagen GTI.Now, I really like our EcoHitch because it does provide us with that two-inch by two-inch receiver tube opening. And it is going to be the only one that gives us those options. And since we have that two-inch opening, the accessories that we can mount up are going to be a lot easier to find and have more variety. Whether we need to tow a trailer, put a bike rack back here, or a cargo carrier, the accessories do open up a lot wider when you have a two-inch receiver tube opening. But regardless of what you're going to be using your hitch for, all the accessories are going to mount to the hitch pin hole here on the side.Now the hitch is going to accept a standard 5/8ths pin and clip. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas- Video
Rob: Hey, everybody. Rob's here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt class 3 custom fit trailer hitch receiver on our 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. Now, here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. I really like the look of the hitch, because the crosstube's going to be completely hidden behind the bumper and all we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out, so it's not going to be a big eyesore in the back of our Atlas. Our hitch is going to be a class 3, which means it gives us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening.It's also going to have the widest variety of options for accessories we can mount up. more

Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. The nice thing about this hitch is the cross tube is going to be completely hidden behind the bumper so it'll have a really nice, clean, sleek appearance to it because all we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out. Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan, we're going to be taking a look at and showing how to install the CURT Class 2 1-1/4" trailer hitch receiver. Now this is going to work great for you, especially if you already have those 1-1/4" accessories or if you plan on just primarily using it for a bike rack. And since it is a little bit smaller in diameter, in my opinion, it's going to look really good on the back of the Tiguan. It's just not going to take up so much space, and blend in really well.Since this is a Class 2, it's going to have that 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" opening. It's also going to have a reinforced collar, not only for extra strength, but it's also going to help give the hitch a more complete and finished look. more

Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver. Now the main thing that separates this hitch from the other ones has to do with its appearance. In my opinion, it's just going to look a little bit better, and that's because it's going to come out through this opening here in the back of our bumper rather than underneath the bumper. And that in turn is also going to give us better ground clearance as well.So not only is the hitch going to look really nice, it's also going to be extremely versatile. And that's because since it is a class 3, we're going to have that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, and that's going to allow us to use tons of different types of accessories and ball mounts.Whatever we really want to use, we should be able to find something that'll work with this hitch. more

Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan, we're going to be taking a look at and showing how to install the CURT Class 3 2" trailer hitch receiver. Now right off the bat, one of the things that's going to separate this one a little bit compared to the Draw-Tite that's available is this one is going to be just a little bit more visible. It's going to hang down below our bumper, which isn't really an eyesore in my opinion. Like I said, you're just going to be able to see more of that receiver tube. As compared to that Draw-Tite, which is going to come through this opening here, it's just going to be tucked up a little bit closer to the body of our vehicle, and in my opinion just give us a little bit more of a clean look.But either way, not really going to take away from the looks of the back of your Volkswagen. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Volkswagen Passat- Video
Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Class 1 Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2012 Volkswagen Passat.Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. It'll have a really clean, almost factory appearance to it because the cross tube's going to be hidden completely behind the bumper and all we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out. That's also going to give us an advantage because that cross tube's not going to be hanging below our bumper, so we're not going to lose too much ground clearance. But since our hitch is a Class 1, it is going to give us that 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" receiver tube opening and be really nice for bike racks, some smaller cargo carriers, or if you need to tow a small trailer.But regardless of what you're going to be using your hitch for, all of our accessories are attached to the hitch pin hole here on the side. Our hitch is going to accept a standard 1/2" pin and clip. Now these are not included with the hitch, but you can find them here at etrailer.com, along with some locking devices and anti-rattle devices to keep them secure and cut down on that noise when we're driving down the road.Now if you are going to be towing a trailer, obviously you inaudible 00:01:03 to hook up your safety chains and here we have a loop style so we'll have plenty of room to get those hooks on or off. more

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan- Video
Today, on this 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, we're going to review and install a Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, Part Number 76192.This is what the hitch looks like when installed on our Tiguan. You notice it sits below the bumper and fits through an opening that we made right here. A little close detail is that we have a 2" wide opening, the standard for Class III receiver hitches. We also have a 5/8 of an inch diameter hole right here for your hitch pin or your locking hitch pin.We have a smaller diameter hole here, which is used for J-Pin stabilization pin, which only works with these hitches that have two holes like this. This is a great hitch to use with any accessories that don't have their own anti-rattle device.On the bottom here, we have our common inaudible 00:00:43 loops right here, and looking straight on you can see the rest of the receiver hitch goes to the left and right side of the vehicle, and is hidden by the bumper. So, it makes for a nice, neat fit.Take a look off to the left hand side, you can see there's a small metal bracket coming over to the plastic here. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Volkswagen Golf, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how install the EcoHitch Class 3 Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 306-X7309. The unique thing about this one is that it's going to be the only class 3 hitch available for our Golf. It's going to give us that 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, opening up a lot more options when it comes to accessories. Another nice thing about our hitch is the fact that the cross tube is going to be completely hidden behind the bumper, and all we're going to see is the receiver tube right below.Now, the way we're going to mount any of our accessories is to through hitch pin hole here on the side, and it is going to accept a standard 5/8" pin and clip. Now, these are not included in the kit, but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com. As far as the safety chain connection points go, they're going to be a plate style welded to the bottom. more
