So if you wanna hit the slopes and you got your skis, you got your snowboards, you can try to fit them inside your car, but the downsides to that is that you do get snow and water all inside of your vehicle, and where do you put your friends and family So the option there is to get them onto your roof. So we have a ski and snowboard carrier here, the Yakima FreshTrack. There's a bunch of different carrier options, this one is gonna be great for if you want something that's affordable, but still has those premium features like locks and is safe and secure for those skis and snowboards. Now, there are some certain challenges with the Ford Edge that you're gonna have to work with, and let's talk about that. One challenge is that this is a taller vehicle. more

So as long as you have a roof rack on your Fiesta, you can get this carrier on there. This is gonna be one of the more premium carriers because it has a very sleek look, but it also has integrated locks and it has a really low profile strap which is helpful for the Fiesta style of roof racks. Now you can get this as a four version which is what we have here, or a six version which can carry up to six pairs of skis. They're gonna work the exact same way. So if you guys are looking for a way of getting those snowboards and skis to your destination, this can be a very decent way to do so. So really simple design. All we have is gonna be those two rubber gaskets, coming down, holding under our board and skis, making sure they get there safe and sound, for ourselves. You guys can see here today on the Ford Bronco Sport, lots of clearance because of our clamp-on-style. So if you guys are looking for a way of just getting your boards up to those mountain slopes, this can be a very decent way of doing it. Obviously not gonna be the biggest guy out there, but it's gonna be perfect for your kind of smaller trips, getting one or two boards about four skis or so to your destination. Now of course, if you guys do have wider skis, kind of keep it in mind, it is just kind of rule of thumb that it is gonna be a little dependent upon what we have at home to really make it work for us. But I am able go ahead and give you guys the dimensions later. Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2010 Ford Escape- Video
Today on our 2010 Ford Escape we'll be test fitting the Yakima FatCat 6 locking rooftop ski and snowboard carrier with a 6-ski or 4-board capacity, part number Y03088. With a factory roof rack system on our Escape we'll begin our test fit by placing the front part of the carrier onto our front crossbar. We'll bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the bar and hook them into the connection points. Now you may need to turn the red knob on the inside of the top bracket to tighten the strap. Tighten down the black lever and clamp it down, which will secure the connection piece in place. We'll then move to the other side of the vehicle and repeat the same process. With the front part of the carrier secured, we're ready to install the back part of the carrier. We'll just repeat the same installation process as we did with the front. more

Whispbar Roof Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2010 Ford Escape- Video
Today on our 2010 Ford Escape we'll be test fitting the Whispbar locking rooftop ski and snowboard carrier with a 6-ski or 4-board capacity, part number WB-300. With a factory roof rack on our Escape we'll begin our test fit by placing the front part of the carrier onto our front crossbar. We'll swing the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the bar and hook them into the connection points. With it in place, we'll need to open up the jaws of the carrier by pushing into the black over-sized button. We'll need to make sure the lever is up and loose. We will then tighten down the black lever and clamp it down, which will secure that connection piece. After repeating the same process for the other side we'll place the rear part of the carrier onto the rear bar and repeat the same installation process. Now that both pieces of the carrier are installed, we're ready to load up our skis and our snowboard. We'll need to push in the black over-sized button at the end of the carrier and open up the jaws. more

Whispbar Roof Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2014 Ford Taurus- Video
Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus, we'll be test fitting the Whispbar Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier for 6 Skis or 4 Boards, part number WB-300. With the Whispbar Through Bar already on our Taurus, we'll go ahead and place the front half of the carrier on the front bar. Now we'll go ahead and pull the strap under the bar and around to the back side of the carrier. We'll secure the buckle to the back, and we can do the same thing for the driver's side. Now with both straps in place, we can go ahead and open up the carrier. We'll go ahead and tighten down the quick-release screws up top, and when they're snug, we can push them back down. That will lock the carrier onto the bars. Now we're going to grab our rear carrier. We'll place it on the rear bar, making sure that it's aligned with the front bar, and repeat the tightening process we did up front. With the bars in place, we can go ahead and open up the jaws of the carrier, and we can slide in our snowboard and our skis. more

Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2014 Ford Taurus- Video
Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus, we will be test fitting the Yakima FatCat 6, locking rooftop ski and snowboard carrier for six skis or four boards. Part number Y03088. With the Whispbar Through bar system already on our Taurus, we can place the front carrier on the bar. To install the carrier, we'll move the rubber strap underneath the bar and connect it on the backside with the buckle. We'll move to the driver's side and do the same thing. With the straps securing the carrier to the rack, we'll go ahead and open up the jaws. We'll do that by pressing the black button on the side, we'll swing the jaws upward and there's a quick release tab that we'll use to tighten it down to the rack. Just tighten down the screw and push it back down into place. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Fatcat 6, a locking rooftop ski and snowboard carrier with a 6 ski or 4 board capacity. It's part number: Y03088. With our Yakima Q Towers roof rack system already installed on our Taurus, we'll begin our test fit by grabbing the front half of our carrier, placing it directly under our crossbars. We'll bring the black, rubber-coated, metal straps around the underside, fit it into the foot of the carrier, open the top jaw on our carrier by pushing the black button on the end. This will give us access to the black lever inside that we need to lift up. And tighten the black lever slightly, pushing it down to catch our buckle with the clasp. We'll now move to the driver's side, and we can repeat this same tightening process. With the front half our rack secure, we'll grab the rear half. more

With our Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System installed on our Taurus, we'll begin our test fit by grabbing the front half of our carrier, placing it on to our front crossbar. We'll bring the black rubber-coated metal straps around the under side of our bar and fit it back into the foot of the carrier. Pressing the button on the end will allow us to open the jaw where we can reach inside and lift on the black lever. With the lever lifted with cam or buckle closed and push down on the lever to secure it with the gray class. We'll make our way over to the driver's side and repeat the same tightening process. more

Now with the roof rack system already assembled and onto our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the front part of the carrier onto the front crossbar. Well then open up the jaws exposing the black levers and loosen them up to allow the black latch on the rubber-coated steel straps to snap into position. Well then tighten down the black lever and clamp it down. Well bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the front crossbar and hook them into the head of the carrier. Well then repeat these steps for the other bracket on the other side of the carrier. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Edge well be test fitting the Yakima Fatcat 6 Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part number y03088. To begin our test fit, well take the front carrier, place it over the top of the front crossbar and bring the rubber-coated steel straps around underneath the crossbar latching them back to the carrier at the attachment point. Once theyre locked in place on either side, we can then open up the carrier, tighten down the wing nut and clamp it into place. With that our carrier on the front crossbar is secured. Well move to the rear crossbar and now well place the rear carrier on top of the rear crossbar repeating the same procedure as we did with the front. Now with both carriers in place, we can go ahead and load our snowboard and skis. more

Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2013 Ford Escape- Video
Today, on our 2013 Ford Escape, we'll be test-fitting the Yakima FatCat 6 Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part number Y03088. Now, to begin our test fit, we'll take the front carrier, place it over the top of the front crossbar, and bring the rubber-coated steel straps around underneath the crossbar, and latch them back to the carrier attachment point. Once they're locked in place on either side, we can then open up the carrier, tighten down the wingnut, and clamp it into place. With that, our carrier on the front crossbar is secured. We'll move on to the rear crossbar. We'll now place the rear carrier on top of the rear crossbar, and repeating the same procedure, clamping it down, we'll secure the rear carrier to the rear crossbar. more
