Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Class V Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver. Part number, C15572. Here's what our hitch looks like once we have it installed. We are going to be able to see that cross tube, just right below the bumper, but it's going to hide nicely, because it has that flat, black, powder coat finish on it, so it's just going to blend in.Mainly what we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out, and it is a Class V, which means it's going to give us that 2" X 2" receiver tube opening, and as you can see, it's got that nice, reinforced collar, giving it added strength, and just an overall finished look.The way we're going to attach all of our accessories is going to be through this pinhole, here, and that's going to accept a stand 5/8 pin and clip. They're not included, but you can pick one up on our website, using part number PC3.The safety chain connection points are going to be a plate style, welded directly to the bottom of our cross tube and receiver tube, here, and the loops are going to be rather large, so we're going to have plenty of room to get most sized hooks on or off. Just want to keep in mind, if you are using a locking device, may have a little bit of trouble, depending on the angle, because they are directly in front of that pin.As fat as the weight's concerned, this is a Class V, so it's going to give us a lot of weight capacity. more

They're not included but you can pick some up on our website using part number PC3.As far as the safety chain connection points go, it's going to be a plate style welded to the bottom. As you can see, we're not going to have any trouble getting most sized hooks on or off. Just keep in mind that if you are using a locking device, that pin hole is pretty close to where the safety chains go so you want to make sure that it doesn't interfere with anything.Now as far as weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 1,000 pound ton weight along with a 10,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Ram 1500 - Draw-Tite- Video

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 we'll be installing the Draw Tite Ultra Frame Class 5 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 41948. We have a large diameter frame that goes across, very strong and very structural. You can see our 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin hole is reinforced on the outside edge on both sides of our receiver. One nice thing about this hitch, even though it's a Class 5 hitch and a very substantial hitch, it still tucks in behind our bumper here of our vehicle, so when we're loading the bed of our truck, we don't have to worry about running our shins or knees into the receiver on the hitch. This Class 5 hitch has a 1,500 pound max gross tongue weight rating and a 12,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating. If you step up to weight distribution, you're max tongue weight stays the same at 1,500 pounds but your max gross trailer weight rating increases to 15,000 pounds. You'll want to consult with the owner's manual of your Ram 1500 first before you tow at that limit. more

We have our standard 5/8 of an inch diameter hitch pin hole right here, so secure any of our hitch mounting accessories that we have. We have this nice reinforcement collar welded to the front of our receiver right here where we insert our accessories. This hitch feature a 1,000 lb max tongue weight rating and a 10,000 lb max gross trailer weight rating. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Ram 1500 - Curt C15572- Video

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we'll be installing the Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C15572. This is a Class V hitch, so it can handle a substantial amount of weight. That's why we need to have this frame, versus just utilizing the factory hitch attachment points that would be right here on a small square. It's very heavy duty. They're made to handle a lot of weight and abuse. You can just see by the thickness of our safety chain loops here how substantial it is, being welded all to the bottom of the receiver, and all the way back to the frame of the hitch itself. This hitch will work great for you if you're in construction, or doing a lot of heavy duty work with heavy duty equipment, and you have to tow a big trailer behind you with a lot of weight, but you can't utilize a goose neck or a fifth wheel trailer, this will work out perfectly for you. We have these easy use safety chain loops right here. We have our standard 5/8ths inch diameter hitch pin hole right here, and a nice collar welded around the opening of our receiver to add some reinforcement to it. more

It's going to have that gloss black powder coat finish that's going to prevent any kind of rust and corrosion as well as a fully welded design. We're going to have our real nice large chain tie-downs on either side as well as a 5/8 inch pin hole going straight through the center to secure all of our 2 inch accessories. This is going to have a 2 x 2 inch receiver tube opening, offering a 600 lbs tongue weight rating and 6,000 lbs towing capacity. With weight distribution that's going to go up just slightly up to 1,000 lbs tongue weight capacity and 10,000 lbs towing capacity. That's going to be your trailer with all your items included. Now that we've seen our receiver hitch installed on the back of our vehicle, let's go ahead and get a few measurements that will assist us in selecting hitch accessories such as ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo carriers. From the center of our pin hole to the outer most edge of our bumper is going to be 1 1/2 inch. Today on our 2011 Ram 3500, we'll be taking a look at and installing the Kurt 00:00:05 Custom Fit Class Five Trailer Hitch Receiver. Part number C15809. Here you see our hitch installed. It's going to have that nice black powder coat finish that's going to help prevent any rust or corrosion, as well as be fully welded all the way around with those extra heavy duty gussets down here at the bottom. Plate steel for your chain tie downs with that 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 receiver tube opening and 5/8th inch pinhole going straight through. This receiver hitch is going to be unlike the stock receiver hitch that you see here in the fact that it's going to have a 2700 pound ton weight capacity. That's going to be the maximum downward force you're going to be able to put here on the end of the receiver tip. more
