Kuat TRIO Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Chevrolet Suburban

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Suburban we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Trio, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number RU01. With our factory roof rack already on the Suburban we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our cross bars. Here at the front we'll bring one of the black rubber coated metal u-bolts around the underside of our cross bar, fit it up into the head of our carrier, and then we'll thread two cylinder nuts on it to hold it in place. We'll then take our second black rubber coated u-bolt and repeat that same process. We can then take the included tool and tighten down all four cylinder nuts to secure the front of the rack to our Suburban. With the front secure we'll now move to the rear. Here we will remove one of the wing nuts, separate our clamp, bring one of our bolts to the front side of our crossbar leaving one behind, reinsert the bolt through the metal portion of our clamp, and thread on a wing nut. more

Here at the front we've got two clamps that come down. We'll remove the T-bolt from the clamps. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, were going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number Y02098. With our Yakima Q-towers roof rack system already installed on the Silverado, well begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, were going to remove the skewer, slide back the black plastic cover, and loosen the T-handle. This will allow us to remove the T-bolt through the slot. Well then separate our clamp, bring the lower portion of our clamp around the underside of our crossbar, reinsert our T-bolt through the slot, and tighten it down with the black T-handle. We can then slide our black plastic cover forward, and reinsert our skewer. With our front secured, its time to move to the rear. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. We're going to be test fitting the Swagman upright roof bike rack. Part number S64720. With our Yakima Q Tower roofrack system already installed on the Silverado, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly on to our crossbars. To get the front, we'll bring one of the U bolts around the underside of our crossbar, fit it up through the head of the carrier and thread on two wing nuts. We'll then take a second U bolt, bring it around the underside of our crossbar, up through the head of the carrier, and secure it with two wing nuts and well. We'll then tighten down all four of our wing nuts, and that will have the front of our rack secured through our vehicle. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, were going to be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader, a wheel mount roof bike rack with part number Y02103. With our Yakima Q-tower roof rack system already installed on the Avenger, were going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, well want the double leg side of our clamp in the front of our bar, and the single leg portion of our clamp behind the bar. Well then tighten the black T-handle located here on the front to secure our clamp around our bar. With the front secured, well move to the rear. Here well loosen the black T-handle, remove the T-bolt from the slot, bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert our T-bolt and tighten it down with the black T-handle. With our rack secured to our vehicle, its now time to load our bike. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down. This is a fork mount roof bike rack. Part #S64710. We've got the Rhino Rack Vortex Arrow Roof Rack System already installed on the Taurus. We're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly up on to our crossbars. Here at the front, we'll take one of the U-bolts, bring it around the underside of our crossbar and fit it up through the head of our carrier. We'll then take two of the wing nuts and thread them on just to hold that in place. The other side in the front we've got a second U-bolt, we're going to do the same as we did on the other side. Bring it around the underside of our bar and we adjust them so we've got both of our U-bolts in the same spot. more

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift, a Fork Mount Roof Bike Rack with part # Y02098. With our Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System already installed on the Avenger, we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly on to our cross bars. Here at front, we're going to remove the skewer, and slide back the black plastic cover. This will give us access to the T handle that will loosen enough to remove the T bolt from the lower half of the clamp. We'll then bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert the T bolt and tighten it down with the T handle. Once we have it secure, we'll slide our black plastic cover forward, then we can reinsert our front skewer. We'll now move to the rear where we're going to loosen the T handle, remove the T bolt from the slot and the clamp, bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert the T bolt into the appropriate slot, and tighten it using the T handle. With our rack secured to our vehicle, it's now time to load our bike. We'll undo the rear wheel strap, then make sure our front skewer is open and loose. more

We'll then bring the one at the rear here around the back, fit it into the foot of the carrier there. more

We'll then bring those around the underside of our crossbar, fit them back into the head of the carrier, and secure them by tightening down the Allen bolt right here in the front. With our front nice and secure, we can move to the rear. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Upright, a roof bike rack with part number S64720. Here at the front, we'll bring a metal U bolt around the underside of our crossbar, fit it through the head of the carrier, and secure it with 2 wing nuts. We'll repeat that same process on the other side of the front, and then, we can tighten down all 4 wing nuts to secure out front to our bar. We'll now move to the rear. Here at the rear, we're going to place a U bolt down through the rack. We'll be sure that it comes out on both sides of our crossbar. We can slip on the metal plate and then hold this in place with the 2 wing nuts. We'll tighten these down to secure our rack. With both of them secure, it's time to load our bike. more

Here at the front, we'll bring 2 of the U bolts around the underside of our bar, fit it through the head of our carrier, and hold them in place with 2 wing nuts on each one. We'll tighten them down to secure the front of our rack to our crossbars. With the front secure, we'll move to the rear. Here at the rear, we're going to bring a U bolt through the rack, being sure that it comes out on both sides of our bar. We'll bring the metal bracket around the underside of our bar and fit the U bolt through it and secure this in place using 2 wing nuts. We'll tighten these down to secure the rear of our rack to our crossbars. We're now ready to load our bike. We'll begin by undoing the rear wheel strap and making sure that our skewer is loose and open. more

This one as well, we'll get two wing nuts threaded on to it. We'll then tighten down all four of the wing nuts to secure the front clamp of our rack here. All right. With that nice and secure, we can move to the rear. more

With our Rhino Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack already installed on the Avenger, well being our test fit by placing the bike rack directly onto our load bars. When we do this, we want to bring our black rubber coated straps around the underside of our front crossbar. Well then remove the black plastic cover, bring those straps around, fit them into the head of the carrier and we can secure it by tightening down the Allen Bolt. With this secure, well replace the black plastic cover. Then, we can move to our rear clamp. Here, well remove one of the Allen bolts completely from the clamp, bring it around our crossbar, reinsert our Allen bolt and tighten both of our Allen bolts down to secure it to our rack. With our rack secure, its time to load our bike. Were going to undue the rear wheel strap and make sure that our front skewer is loose and open. more

We can then take our provided allen key and tighten these down. With our front secure, we'll move to the rear. Here we're going to completely remove one of the wing nuts, bring our clamp around our bar, replace our wing nut, and tighten both of them down. With our rack secured to our vehicle, it's now time to load our bike. We'll begin by undoing our rear wheel strap and making sure that our front skewer is loose and open. We'll grab our bike, place our bike onto our rack. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500, well be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. Now Ill be using the tall step ladder just to make the installation process much easier. With the Thule rapid traverse roof rack system on our truck, well begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up on to the vehicles load bars. Starting at the front, were going to take the silver U-bolts to go around the underside of the front bar up to the predrilled holes at the head of the carrier. Well then take our black wing nuts and thread down on to the silver U-bolts, and well keep the wing nuts loose. Well move to the rear and this ti me take the silver U-bolts to go down through the predrilled holes of the bike rack. Well then take the black plate and insert one end of the U-bolt into the hole of the black plate and install our wing nut, well then swing the bracket around, inserting the second part of the U-bolt into the hole of the wing nut, and then tightening it down. more

I'll be using a tall ladder so I can make the hardware of the bike rack easily accessible. With the Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's crossbars. We need to start off by by bringing the two black rubber-coated steel straps around the front bar. We'll need to the remove the black cover to position the straps and to the connection point of the head of the carrier. Then move to the rear, remove one of the Allen bolts and position the rear bracket around the underside of the rear bar and then reinstall the Allen bolt. We'll keep it loose at this time. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500 Crew Cab, were going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number Y02098. With our Yakima Q-towers roof rack system already installed on the Ram, well begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly on to our cross bars. Here at the front, well remove the securer, it is reversed thread, slide back the black cover and loosen the black T-handle. Well then remove the T-bolt from the lower portion of our clamp, bring our clamp around our crossbar, reinsert the T-bolt and tighten down that black T-handle. With our front secure, well slide the black plastic cover forward and replace our securer. We can now move to the rear. This time well loosen the black T-handle, remove the T-bolt from the slot, bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert our T-bolt, and tighten down the black T-handle to secure it. more

Today on our 2014 RAM 2500 Crew Cab, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Sprint, a fork-mount roof bike rack with part number TH528. With our Thule rapid traverse roof rack system already installed on the RAM, we begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. When we do this, we want to be sure the black rubber-coated metal straps go around the underside of our load bars. Here at the front, we're going to fit the strap into the head of the carrier. We'll then turn the black lever to tighten our strap. With the front secure, we'll move to the rear. We're going to fit this strap into the foot of the carrier and turn the black lever to secure it in place. With our rack secure, we're now ready to load our bike. We'll begin by undoing our rear wheel strap and loosening our front skewer. more

Today on our 2013 mazda 5 we're going to be testing the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. With our thule rapid podium roof rack system already installed on the Mazda, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack up unto our load bars. Here at the front we'll bring one of the u-bolts around the underside of our load bar, we'll fit it up through the head of her carrier and then we'll thread 2 wingnuts on it, just a hole in place temporarily for now. We'll then take a second you u-bolt, and 2 more wingnuts and fit those into the other side of our carrier here in the front. We'll then tighten down all 4 of our wingnuts to secure the front portion of our rack here. Alright, with the front nice and tight we can move to the rear, here instead of coming around the under and up through, we'll take our u-bolt, we're going to place it down through the rack, as we do this we'll want to make sure that we've got a threaded portion coming out in front of and behind our load bar. more

Here at the front we'll bring one of the black rubber-coated metal U-bolts around the underside of our load bar and thread two of our wing nuts down on it just to hold it in place. We'll then take our second black rubber-coated metal U-bolt, bring it around the underside, and thread two wing nuts on it as well.Adjust it so it sits evenly and then we'll tighten down all four of our wing nuts. more

Today on our 2013 Mazda 5, we're going to be test-fitting the Kuat Trio, a roof-mounted bike rack, part number RU01. We've got our Thule Rapid Podium roof rack system already installed on the Mazda, so we'll begin our test fit by simply placing our bike rack on top of our load bars. We'll bring one of the black rubber-coated metal u-bolts around the underside of our load bar. Fit it up into the head of our carrier. We'll then thread on two of our cylinder nuts; you want to be sure that the threaded end is pointing down and not the hex end. With both of those threaded, we'll take our second u-bolt and we'll just repeat that same process. We'll now take our provided allen tool and tighten those down to secure our rack to our vehicle. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500 Crew Cab we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Upright Roof Bike Rack part number S64720. With our Yakima Q-Towers Roof Rack System already installed on the Ram we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front we're going to bring two of the U-bolts around the underside of our crossbar, through the head of our rack, and hold them in place with two wingnuts on each one. We'll then tighten down all four of our wingnuts and secure the front of our rack to our crossbar. Here at the rear we'll put the U-bolt down through the rack being sure that the threaded portion comes out on both sides of the crossbar. We'll then put on the black plate and two of the wingnuts. We'll tighten down both of the wingnuts to secure the rear. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500 we'll be test fitting the Sport Rack Roof Mounted Bike Rack part number Sr4622. Now I'm going to be using a tall step ladder just to make the installation a little bit easier. With a Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System on our truck we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll start at the front and take the rubber coated black U-bolts around the underside of the front bar and insert them up through the pre-drilled holes at the head of the carrier. We'll then thread on our black wingnuts leaving them loose. We'll now move to the rear and we'll need to take the black spacer to go in between the top part of the rear bar and the bottom part of the bike rack. We'll then take the black bolts to go down through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack as well as the black spacer. more

Now, I'm going to be using a tall step-ladder just to make sure I can easily install the hardware. I'm going to start at the front and take the rubber coated U-bolts around the underside of the front bar up to the pre-drilled holes at the head of the carrier. We'll the take the cylinder nuts to thread down onto the U-bolts, keeping them loose. We'll then move to the rear. Remove one of the black wing nuts and position the rear bracket around the underside of the rear bar. After reinstalling the black wing nut, we'll tighten it all the way down. more

With our Tule podium roof rack system already installed on our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly onto our load bars. At the front we'll loosen the two wing nuts, remove the T-bolts from the clamps, let our clamps fall down. Then we'll bring clamps around the underside of our bar, reinsert our T-bolts, and tighten them down with the wing nut. At the rear we'll remove both of the wing nuts and the metal plate. This will allow us to put a bolt down on either side of our load bar. more

Today on our 2013 Mazda 3, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Frontloader, a wheel-mount bike rack, part number Y02103. With our Yakima Control Tower roof-rack system already installed on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly on top of our load bars. At the front, we'll want our clamp to be in front and behind of our bar. Then we can use the black T-handle to secure it to our bar. With that secure, we'll move to the rear. Here, we're going to loosen the black T-handle, allowing us to remove the T-bolt from the clamp. We'll now bring our clamp around the rear load bar, re-insert the T-bolt into the appropriate slot and tighten it down with the T-handle. With our rack secure, we're ready to load our bike. more

At the front, we'll remove our skewer, side back the black cover and loose the black t-handle attached to our t-bolt. This will allow us to open our front clamp. We'll then bring our front clamp around our bar, fit our t-bolt back in to the appropriate slot and tighten the black t-handle. With this secure, we'll then slide forward our black cover and reinsert our skewer. Now, we'll move to the rear. more

Today on our 2013 Mazda 3, we'll be test fitting the Sportrack frame-mount roof bike rack, part number SR4611. With our Thule Podium roof rack system already installed on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our loads bars. On the head of our bike rack, we'll bring our two rubber-coated U-bolts around our load bar, through the carrier and we'll secure these using the black wing nuts. We'll want to tighten them down evenly to be sure that the head is secured to our bar. At our rear load bar, we will want the plastic piece of our clamp to be in between the metal of our rack and our load bar. We'll then drop two bolts through it, connecting those two bolts to the black rubber-coated metal plate that we'll install under our load bar. We will then use two black wing nuts to secure these into place. To prepare to load our bike, we'll want to make sure that our frame clamp jaws are open and that our wheel straps are undone. more

Today on our 2013 Mazda 3, well be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod, a roof minded bike rack, part number RKY1014. With our Thule Podium Roof Rack System already assembled on our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the rack directly onto the top of our load bars. Well then take off the black plastic cover on the front of the head, bring our black rubber coated metal straps around our front bar and fit them back into the head. Well then use our Allen key to tighten the Allen bolt, securing the straps to our front load bar. Once our straps are secure, well go ahead and replace the black plastic cover. At the rear, well undo one of the Allen bolts, freeing the clamp. Well bring it around our rear load bar, reinstall the Allen bolt and tighten them up evenly to secure it to our rack. Were now ready to load our bike. Well begin by undoing our rear wheel strap and loosening our front skewer. more

Today on our 2006 Mercury Milan, we're going to be test fitting the Rocky Mounts Tie Rod Stretch roof mounted bike rack, part number RKY1011. With the Thule roof rack, rapid traverse roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we'll bring our rubber coated steel straps around our front bar, and we can go ahead and remove the black plastic cover and fit those straps into the head of the carrier. Then we'll use an Allen key to tighten up the Allen bolt, which will secure our straps around our front bar. This bike rack is going to fit a variety of different styles of bikes, but it does require that your bike has a quick release front wheel skewer. With the front secure, we can go ahead and replace our black plastic cover and then we'll move to the rear. We'll go ahead and loosen up one of our Allen bolts, and bring our rear clamp around our rear bar, and then we can reinsert our Allen bolt. more

With the Thule Crossroads Roof Rack system on our vehicle well being our test fit by placing the Big Mouth directly onto our load bars. Here at the front well bring our clamps around our front bar, fit the T-bolt through the slot and tighten it with the wing nut on top. Here at the rear well undo one of the wing nuts to bring our bolts around our rear bar, take our bolts fit it back through our clamp and secure it by tightening both wing nuts down. With our rack secured to our vehicle well go ahead loosen our wheel straps and make sure our frame jaws are open. Well grab our bike; place it onto our Big Mouth. Well secure it first by fitting the frame jaws around the lower part of our bikes frame. Then move to each wheel and tighten with the wheel straps. With our bike loaded up we are ready to go.That will complete todays test fit of the Thule Big Mouth; part number TH599XTR, on our 2014 Kia Sorento. . more

Today on our 2014 Kia Sorento, we will be test fitting the SportRack Roof Mounted Fork Mounted Bike Rack, part number SR4622. With the Thule rapid crossroads roof rack system assembled on to our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the bike rack on to the vehicles load bars. Well bring the rubber coated black brackets around the underside of the front bar up to the predrilled holes of the front platform. Then well take our black wing nuts and thread that on to the black brackets, securing the front part of our bike rack to our front bar.Next, well move to the rear, well slide the black bolts to the predrilled holes in the bike rack, taking our black plastic piece, placing it between our bike rack and our load bar, well then run the bolts through the black rubber coated metal bracket, and secure it with the wing nuts. Once everything is tighten down and secure, were ready to load up our bike. Well make sure our securer is loose in the front. more

Today on our 2014 Kia Sorrento, we will be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number RKY1014. With our Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack System installed on our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly on top of the load bars. We will bring our steel, rubber-coated straps around our front load bar, placing them back into the head of the rack. We will then move to the rear mounting point of our bike rack, where well use a clamp to go underneath the crossbar, and well secure it by tightening down both Allen-bolts. We will then move to the front of the bike rack and further secure our straps with the included Allen tool. With our bike rack secured to the vehicle, we will reinstall our head-cover, then well make sure the skewer is open, and ready for the front fork of our bike. We will also undo our rear wheel strap. We will now place our bike directly onto our rack, placing our front fork into our front skewer first. We will secure our front skewer, then move to the rear wheel and tighten it with the strap. With our bike secure, that will complete our test fit of the RockyMounts TieRod, part number RKY1014. more

Today on 2014 Kia Sorento, we will be test fitting the Kuat Trio roof-mounted bike rack, part number RU01. With our Thule Rapid Crossroad roof rack system already installed on our vehicle, we will begin our test fit by placing the Trio directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, we'll take our U bolts, bring them around the underside of our front crossbar, fitting them back up through the front of our bike rack. With our U bolts through the front of our rack, we'll take our cylinder nuts and thread them down onto the bolt. We will repeat this process for the other U bolt. Then, we will take the included tool, tighten down each nut. With the front secure, we can move to the rear, loosen one of the wing nuts off the bolt, bring the metal bracket around the underside of our bar, re-thread our wing nut, and tighten down to secure. With the front and rear secure, we'll go ahead, loosen our skewer slightly, undo our rear wheel strap, and we can grab our bike. We'll place it directly onto the rack, dropping our front forks down onto the skewer. We will secure the bike first by tightening the front skewer, then move to the rear wheel and tighten it with the strap. With our bike secure, that will complete today's test fit of the Kuat Trio roof-mounted bike rack, part number RU01, on our 2014 Kia Sorento. more
