Now the rear view camera is probably gonna be obstructed but that's gonna be the case for pretty much any bike rack you have. So we're really not gonna have too much functionality there but with our back glass here we should be able to see mostly out of that along with our side mirror. RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Toyota Tundra- Video

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we'll be taking a look at the RockyMounts MonoRail 2-Bike Platform Rack right here on our 2022 Toyota Tundra. This is gonna be a really versatile bike rack, pretty much any shape, size, or weight of bike you have, this can handle it. The first feature we're gonna take a look at is the tilt-away feature. We have this bright, blue lever here at the end, you're gonna pull that lever and just let that bike rack drop down to a tilt, and why would you tilt your bike rack away If you wanna lower your tailgate. So as we can see here, if we can completely lower our tailgate and we actually almost can, you can see it kinda makes contact with our bike over there but it clears the cradles which I'm very surprised by 'cause most bike racks can't tilt away far enough to get some good distance here, so we'll probably have better luck when we take our bike off later on. more

So the Swagman Chinook really shines when you have an inch and a quarter hitch, but you need something that's extra heavy duty to carry your bikes. Now, in our case, on the 4Runner, we have a 2-inch hitch. So that feature is not as important, but it's still a great heavy duty bike rack that also allows you to tilt it away. Something that's better than the Swagman E-Spec, which has more weight capacity, but not that tilt. So let's take a look at that tilting feature. more

This is a nice light rack and the capacity is 35 pounds per bike. So keeping that 35 per bike weight limit in mind, it is good to consider that this is good for standard bikes. So on most vehicles, it's not that good of a fit because it actually sits a little bit lower than your hitch, but on our Toyota 4Runner, this is actually a pretty good pairing because as you can see, it sits low enough where it's easy to load and unload your bikes.
