Today on our 2014 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C13144. What I like most about this hitch is how it is pretty well hidden, but you have really good access to the receiver tube. It's going to be nice and easy for installing and taking off any of your hitch mounted accessories. It's got this nice long receiver tube that helps to bring the face of our receiver tube opening out close to the outer edge of the bumper, so that that's going to help give us that extra clearance that we may need for some of our accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers. It does have a standard 5/8 inch hitch pin hole. Around the 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening it's got this nice reinforcement collar that's welded on, which is nice and thick to help give it a nice sturdy look, and it also helps it look really clean. Then here we've got the plate style safety chain connection points back here. more

There's not much sticking out at all, so you don't have to worry about running into it when you're loading your hatch of your vehicle. It has a nice high gloss black powder coat finish that'll provide us many years of corrosion-free and rust-free service. We have these nice easy to use safety chain loops here that are welded onto this plate at the bottom of our 1-1/4-inch receiver. Now, this class I hitch has a 200-pound max gross tongue weight rating and a 2,000-pound max gross trailer weight rating, so you just want to keep that mind for when you're pulling your trailer or having a load like a bike rack or cargo carrier. more

Today on our 2017 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt class-2 trailer hitch receiver, part number C12100. That way they shouldn't get too close to the rear of your vehicle. It gives us a pretty clean look because primarily what you're going to see is the receiver tube here. This receiver tube is a 1 1/4 by 1 1/4-inch receiver tube opening with a nice reinforcement collar around it that gives it a nice heavy duty look. Here we've got the 1/2-inch hitch pin hole. Today on our 2017 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame class 3 trailer hitch receiver, part number 75876. One of the things I like most about this hitch is the clearance that it gives you, because for any accessories, such as bike racks and cargo carriers, you really shouldn't have any problem with the amount of clearance you have to the rear of the vehicle. As you can see, the most noticeable part is this outside edge of the receiver tube opening, where you're not going see a lot of the crossbar unless you're at a low angle looking underneath. This has got a nice reinforcement collar around the 2-inch x 2-inch opening. It's also got a nice large steel plate with large-diameter holes in order to connect your safety chains to, so you really shouldn't have any problem connecting whatever type of safety chain clips you may have. Best 2016 Subaru Crosstrek Hitch Options- Video

Best 2016 Subaru Crosstrek Hitch Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. Our hitch on the top is going to be the CURT class three receiver hitch, part number C13135. The second one down is going to be the CURT class one trailer hitch, part number C11286, followed by the Draw-Tite class one sport frame receiver hitch, part number 24886. Now you can see our biggest difference is going to be that this one is a class three with a 2" receiver, while these are both class one with 1-1/4". Now the 2" receiver is going to be give you a lot more options for cargo carriers, bike racks, and ball mounts. Another difference you're going to notice is on the CURT class one it's got a flat-style safety chain loop, where the class three has the ring-style with a larger diameter, as well as the Draw-Tite that's got the ring-style for larger chain hooks. Now with the ring-style it's going to give you a little bit more room to put a larger hook into and make it a little easier, where sometimes with these flat-style ones it's not going to be able to grip around the outside here because we have a lot larger diameter. more
