Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Honda Odyssey - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2017 Honda Odyssey, we'll be having a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Max Frame Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 75270. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. One thing that you'll notice about our hitch is that it is recessed behind our fascia here. This will help prevent us from kicking it while we're loading cargo into our hatch. On the side of our receiver you'll find two pin holes. The larger one that's closer to the front of the vehicle is our industry standard 5/8 of an inch diameter hitch pin hole, to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories. more

Today on our 2017 Honda Odyssey we'll be having a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Class 2 trailer hitch receiver, part number 36417. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you'll see, it tucks up nice and tight against our rear fascia here while giving us the most ground clearance possible without requiring any modification to our fascia. It also sits behind our fascia a little bit so when we're loading cargo into our hatch area, we don't have to worry about knocking our shin against the receiver. On the side of our receiver you'll find our industry-standard 1/2" diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of our hitch-mounted accessories. At the end of our receiver you'll see this welded-on collar which helps improve the strength and give it a more finished appearance. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Honda Pilot - Draw-Tite

Today in our 2017 Honda Pilot, we'll be having a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Class 3 Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 75225. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. The first thing that we'll notice about our hitch is that the main frame of the hitch itself is completely hidden behind a rear fascia. Th only parts that we will see hanging down is the actual class 3 2-inc receiver itself with our safety chain loops on the side of the receiver. Now on our safety chain loops, they're a unique design where they're on a plate that's welded to the side of the receiver which has a large opening right here, and they actually hang down a little bit below the receiver, which isn't a big deal. A lot of factory hitches on a lot of higher-end vehicles actually have a design like this because they give you optimal room for inserting pins and locking devices into your hitch to secure whatever hitch-mounted accessory you have. Now off to the left-side of our hitch, towards the driver's side, you'll notice that they have a bracket that's welded onto the frame of the hitch. What this bracket allows us to do is to mount any electrical connections that we have to hook-up to our trailer's wiring systems, either a 4-full 00:01:17 flat, 7-way RV or whatever other style of electrical connector you have, you can mount it right back here. Now on the side of our receiver, you'll notice that we have two pinholes. more

Today on our 2017 Honda Pilot we'll be having a look at and installing the CURT Class 3 trailer hitch receiver, part number C13146. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, our hitch is completely hidden by our rear fascia. The only part hanging down is the part we'll be using, the actual Class 3 2" receiver itself with our safety chain loops. one great feature about this hitch that we have is we have ample clearance around our fascia with the receiver, making this hitch ideal to use with any hitch-mounted accessory, especially bike racks and cargo carriers. Our safety chain loops are a rolled steel design, which are welded onto the bottom of the receiver. They are a fairly large opening and we shouldn't have much, if any, problems using most safety chain hooks on them. more

All right, here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, it's nice and tucked up underneath our back fascia, here, but still offers us plenty of clearance around our receiver so we won't have any difficulty hooking up most hitch mounted accessories that we may have. In the side of our receiver we have two pin holes. The one closest to the front of our vehicle is our industry standard 5/8 of a diameter hitch pin hole, and that's what's used to secure your hitch mounted accessories. The one here, closer to the rear of the vehicle, that's a J-pin stabilization device hole. The other two Draw-Tites are going to have this square frame and are actually going to be housed behind the bumper so it's just going to be the hitch that's going to be sticking out. Another difference between these hitches, with the Curt up at the top we're going to have this reinforced end while the Draw-Tites just have a flush end. Just about any type of hitch accessory that they do make for vehicles, they're probably going to have a class three version. Now, when it's time to secure all of those items, you always want to use the hole that's closest to the front of the vehicle, that's a 5/8 diameter hole. You want to pick class three accessories and it looks like, even with that weld there, we're going to have enough room for anti-rattle devices, hitch pins and clips, locking hitch pins, whatever you might choose. The second hole that you see here a little bit closer to the rear, that's for use only with the J-Pin stabilization system. Its part number is 24826. Okay, this is what our hitch looks like installed. You'll see our cross tube meets here in the middle at our 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. This is a Class I rated hitch, so this hitch is going to work out well for us when it comes to your smaller cargo carriers, small bike carriers, or even the light-duty trailers. To secure all of our items in place, we're going to use the 1/2" diameter pinhole here on the side. You want to be sure you use Class I rated accessories, but no matter which one you would pick, whether it would be an anti-rattle bolt, maybe a locking hitch pin, or a regular hitch pin and clip, should be plenty of room to make that work. You can see our safety-chain connection points here, kind of a rounded steel-stock material. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Honda HR-V - Curt

Today on 2016 Honda HR-V, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Class I trailer hitch receiver, part number C11416. Here's what's this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it maintains a pretty clean look to where it's nicely tucked up against the fascia on the underside there. It doesn't come too far out, but it does come out far enough to make sure you'll have plenty of clearance with just about any type of accessories you may want to put in here. Features the 1/2 inch hitch pinhole in order to secure any accessories that you may want to put in there, and it's got the 1-1/4 by 1-1/4 inch receiver tube opening with nice reinforcement collar to help give it that nice clean look, but also help reinforce to make sure it's sturdy here. It's got the steel plate-style safety chain connection point with good-size opening, so the majority of your safety chains, you should be able to get connected in here without really any problem. It mounts up with 3 attachment points, 2 on either frame rail, and 1 to the factory tow hook that's right on the underside here, and it's a pretty straightforward, easy installation. This hitch features a 200-pound max tongue weight rating and 2,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. more

Best 2007 Honda Pilot Hitch Options- Video

Best 2007 Honda Pilot Hitch Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2007 Honda Pilot. The two best hitch options for your Honda Pilot are going to be the Draw-Tite class three, part number 75599, and the CURT class three, part number 13328. The biggest difference that you're going to see between the Draw-Tite and the CURT is that here on the Draw-Tite the face of the receiver tube opening and the hitch pinhole are further out. That's going to give you more clearance to the rear of the vehicle, but that's also going to make this a little bit more visible than here on the CURT. Both of these hitches are going to be great for your class three hitch-mounted accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers, or ball mounts, but I think the biggest determining factor is going to be do you want one that's going to give you more clearance or do you want one that's going to be a little bit more hidden. We've got a CURT here on this Pilot. Although that Draw-Tite gives us more clearance you're still going to have pretty good clearance with this CURT because it isn't too far recessed in from the rear of this bumper here. more
