CIPA Dual-View Clip-on Towing Mirror Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be installing the Cipa duel view clip-on towing mirror, part number 11953. You can see me just fine in the factory mirror. Not a problem but if we wanted to change lanes and there's something next to our trailer, we won't be able to see it in the factory mirror. That's where the tow mirrors come into play. I'll step out to the side. You can't see me in the factory mirror anymore but now you can see me in the tow mirror. Our mirror's fully adjustable. more

CIPA Clip-on Towing Mirror Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox

Today in our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be doing an installation of a CIPA Clip-on Towing Mirror, part number 7070. If you wanna execute a maneuver when you're towing a trailer, you have to watch out for the extra distance of your trailer. If you wanna change lanes, if I step over here you can't see me in the factory mirror anymore, but now you can see me in the towing mirror. We also have our individual adjustment to the side, up, down. We can rotate it however we need to get the field of vision that we want, and a field of vision that we need. Now, a nice thing about this mirror is we can still adjust our factory power mirror without a problem, because it doesn't mount over the glass, it just mounts around the glass and to the side of it. The glass here is on unaffected. more

Today, in our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be installing the CIPA universal fit towing mirror, part number CM 11980. Now, if you wanted to change a lane while you're hooked up to your trailer, such as our jet ski trailer here today, it would be difficult to see if there's anything beside the trailer when you wanted to execute your lane change. I'll step over here, to show that. You can't see me in the factory mirror anymore, but now you can see me in the tow mirror. This will prevent you from sideswiping something with your trailer when you're changing lanes. Now, our mirror is fully adjustable. We can go up, down, side to side, whichever direction we need to go in order to get the vision that we need and the vision that we want to see our trailer. more

It will also help you when backing up your trailer or hooking up to it. Some customers have said that this mirror has a little bit of vibration when going down the road. more

Now, if I step over here you can no longer see me in the factory mirror, but you can still me to the side of the jet ski trailer in the new tow mirror that we installed. CIPA Clip-on Towing Mirror Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Colorado

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, we'll be having a look at the CIPA clip-on towing mirror, part number 7070. We have a five inch by seven and a half inch mirror that's fully adjustable by a ball and socket joint on the mirror. It's a- clips on to our mirror very nicely. We got two hooks on the bottom, two hooks on the top, and then a strap that wraps around and ratchets into place to secure it. As you can see, it holds our mirror on very nicely. One nice thing about this mirror, is if we need to fold in our factory mirrors, we can still do that with it attached. Being able to fold in our mirrors is a nice feature because if we need to go through a drive through or go to an ATM and pull up close to something, we can still do that without worrying about damaging our tow mirror or our factory mirror. more

You'll see as we start to come out, we're finding that factory mirror, going to give us that normal field of view that we're used to seeing. When we add in that towing mirror, you'll see as we transition over here, we're going to be able to move out a lot further from the RV, so now as we're turning, if we we're maneuvering, we'll be able to see out here where that camper's swinging around and we won't have to be stretching out the window or stretching around while trying to look behind us. Now, one thing I've noticed about the fit, see here on the top We can pull that up and create a gap. more

Here's what our K-Source custom towing mirrors are going to look like when they're installed. Here we are behind the vehicle. Then, if we're going to change lanes, or possibly park, or we've got an extended towing product, we're going to need some additional width of our sight line, and that's where our custom towing mirror will pick it up. Our custom mirror itself measures approximately 4 1/4 inches in height from the center of the mirror, as it's not a perfect rectangle. Then, from here from the bottom of the mirror, it's about 3 3/4 inches wide. Now the overall total length of the mirror itself is about 16 3/4 inches, so it fits real nice and snug over top of the manufacturer's mirror. more

Longview Custom Towing Mirrors Installation - 1998 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

Today, on our 1998 Chevy CK Series pickup, we'll be installing the Longview custom towing mirrors, part number CTM1200. To begin our install, here on the driver's side, we already have our mirror in place. Our extended mirror is fully adjustable so the manual mirror here on the outside will go down, up, out, and in as necessary to view your towing product. Here, along the back edge, closest to the manufacturer's mirror opening, you can see where the outer edge hooks around the lip of the mirror to help hold it in place. Additionally, it still leaves opening for the manufacturer's mirror to be able to move around as needed. After the mirror's slid in place, we have a hook and knob fastener. The hook will go around to the back edge here near the mirror and the knob will secure it on the front side. Now with this sleek and stylish design, it will help prevent the mirror from shifting or moving around, even at highway speeds. Now, we'll go over to the passenger side and go head and install our mirror. more

CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors Installation - 1998 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

Today, on our 1998 Chevrolet CK Series pickup, we'll be installing the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors, part number CM10200. Now, to begin our install, we've already got the driver's side here put in place so let's just go over the features. Here, we have a fully adjustable mirror; down, up, out, and in, can be manually be adjusted so you can view your towing product. Here, gripping the rear edge of the mirror are two plastic grooves that will help hold the mirror in place. The locking mechanism is on the front side of our CIPA mirror, with the hand knob and wedge. The wedge goes in between the manufacturer's mirror and our CIPA mirror and the hand knob threads into it, creating the wedge effect and locking the mirror into place so it doesn't vibrate or move around. Front grooves that grip around the edge of the mirror but do not interfere with our OAM or manufacturer's mirror. Now, let's move over to the passenger side and go ahead and install the mirror. To begin with, I'm going to just hit it with a little soap and water solution and wipe it down to clean off any debris that could get trapped between the two mirrors and potentially scratch the mirror. more

Longview Custom Towing Mirrors Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Today, on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we'll be installing a Longview custom towing mirror, part number LVT-1800. This is a set of custom towing mirrors that will slip on over your manufacturer equipment mirrors. Standing at the back of the truck, viewing the reflection from the mirror, through the manufacturer's mirror seeing behind the vehicle is easy. However, if we have a longer towing product or wider, using our long view mirror, much easier to see the product so we can safely navigate the road. Let's go ahead and take a look at the passenger side, which we've already installed. As you can see, the mirror slips on, gripping the outer edge of the original mirror but won't hinder the operation, whether manual or power of the manufacturer's mirror. Here, at our extension, we have a manual mirror that we can move up, down, in, or out as necessary to view our towing product. Securing our mirror here to the manufacturer's mirror, we have the hand knob on the back side that holds the hook that grips the front edge, therefore preventing the mirror from coming off, holding it nice and tightly so it won't shift and move around on bumpy roads or highway speeds. Additionally, since we're adding width to our vehicle, it won't interfere with being able to fold it in for those tight parking situations. Now, let's go ahead and show you how to install it on the driver's side. more
