Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Hitch Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today we'll be having a look at the Reese Elite Series Pre-Assembled Fifth Wheel Hitch with slider, part number RP30144.Here's what our fifth wheel and slider looks like installed. Now, the reason you're gonna want this particular fifth wheel and slider compared to other options on the market is that if your Ford truck -- such as this one -- has the factory rail system, this drops right in with no modification to the vehicle required at all.Also, you're going to need a slider if your truck does not have an eight-foot bed. This particular truck has a six and three-quarter-foot bed.As we make sharp turns or do tight corners or pull in to gas stations, we run the risk of having the overhang of our fifth wheel contacting the cab of our truck. By having a slider in place, we move the overhang further back, giving us the necessary clearance to make those maneuvers safely without damaging our truck or our trailer.Compared to other options on the market, this one seems easier, to me, to be able to install and remove from the truck if need be -- if we want full access to our bed -- because it is lighter weight. Now, even though this is a lighter-weight unit than some other options on the market, it doesn't sacrifice quality or durability while saving weight. We still have the same capacities as other options as well.This fifth wheel hitch and slider have a capacity of an 18,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating, and a 4,500 pound max pin weight rating. more

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Reese 10 Bolt Extended Length Outboard Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches.Now, these base rails will install in your truck bed and they provide necessary attaching points for a 5th wheel trailer hitch. The base rails included in this kit feature a standard 10 bolt design. Basically, each of these rails will attach to the underbed brackets with two carriage bolts at both ends, and then a single bolt is used in the center of each rail to further secure it to your truck bed. The result is you get a set of base rails that'll remain firmly in place, thanks to 10 points of contact.These rails are 48" long above-bed rails, make for a nice fast, simple installation when these are used with the Reese custom outboard brackets that we do sell separately on our website. Now this is gonna allow us to tow our 5th wheel trailer down the road safely. Now, like our truck, if you ever towed with a short bed truck, you do know that going around corners with a 5th wheel trailer does get a little squirrel-y, but luckily, if we flip this lever here, we have a slider that's built in, that's gonna give us that much more extra room, and allow us to maneuver around corners with ease. Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 RAM 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with R20 Slider, part number C16536. So here's what our 5th wheel hitch and slider look like when they're fully installed. Now, this is gonna allow us to tow a 5th wheel trailer with our truck. If you have less than a eight food bed, when you tow with the 5th wheel, the slider's gonna greatly benefit us because it's gonna give us 12 inches of travel, forward and back, allowing to have enough clearance so that our trailer is not gonna make contact with our cab.Now, if we come to the side here, we can see that it's in the towing position. But if we come to the lever and we pull out on the lever and slightly turn it, we'll see that there's a red notch right here. This is gonna allow the 5th wheel to slide back into the maneuvering position. more

Today we're gonna be taking look at the BMW Companion OEM fifth-wheel trailer hitch with slider for the Ram towing prep package. Part number is DWRVK3670. Now this companion fifth-wheel is designed to go directly into the Ram puck system, so we can get a fifth-wheel hitch put in the bed of the truck that does offer a slider without any bed modifications. That's really key I think, about the puck system and being able to get something like this put in your bed very quickly. Now something that really sets this sliding set up apart from any others is the distance that it actually travels. With this one we've got a very easy to operate lever here on the side. Just gonna slide that into the unlocked position and this gives us a full twelve inches of travel. We'll then move that handle back into the locked position. more

Today, we'll be having a look at the Husky Silver Series 16KW 5th wheel trailer hitch, part number HT31326-31314. Here we are in the bed of our truck, and here's what it looks like in the bed of our truck, coupled up to our trailer. Now, what separates this 5th wheel from other 5th wheels on the market is our fully articulating head right here, which will provide the correct angle to connect to our kingpin, regardless of the terrain that we are on. If we find ourselves on uneven terrain, this will provide a quick and easy hook-up every time. One key feature that this 5th wheel has, that others don't, is that we have a two pin adjustment point, fore and aft, so we can center our kingpin directly over the center line of our rear axle, providing us the best weight distribution that we possibly can get. We also have a vertical height adjustment here to help adjust it. So, when we are towing our 5th wheel, we can ensure that it's level. Uncoupling from our 5th wheel is super easy. We are gonna just take out our safety latch here. more

Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Review - 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty- Video
Today on our 2016 Ford F350 we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches, part number RP30126. Here's what our base rails look like fully installed. They're going to allow us to tow with a fifth wheel trailer hitch and if we want, when we're not towing we're going to be able to remove this and still have full access to our bed. Once we have our fifth wheel removed, they even provide us with little caps to put into our puck system. That way we don't have to worry about any dirt and debris or even water getting down in there and making any rust and any problems with our fifth wheel getting in. As you can see, with the caps on and our fifth wheel out of the way, we still have full bed access and we can inaudible 00:47 put anything in or get anything out of our bed that we may need. Now, the way we're going to have full bed access and not have any rails inside our bed is because they're going to mount under the bed and since it's vehicle specific, it is going to take a little bit less time to install and require a little bit less drilling that universal kits. This is a great alternative if your truck doesn't already come equipped with the factory prep package because not only is it going to allow you to tow with a fifth wheel hitch, but it's also going to keep your bed nice and clean and give it that factory look. more

Today on our 2012 Ford F250, we're going to be taking a look at the Reese Titan 16 Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number RP30866. So, here we have our fifth wheel installed along with our base rails, which are sold separately. This fifth wheel is gonna work with all industry standard base rails that mount inside the truck bed. Now, this fifth wheel features a 16,000 pound gross trailer weight limit. That's the amount that it could pull and it also features a 4,000 pound vertical load limit. The head on the fifth wheel itself does swivel side-to-side and back-to-front to allow you to get the right angle when hooking up to your trailer. The way that we're gonna hook this up to your trailer is if you come over to this handle, rotate it up and then pull it out, you'll see the jaws are going to open. more

We come to the driver's side of our hitch here, the vertical bar here, it's going to be a latch for our slide. Now, this red indicator is letting us know that it's unlocked. When it's in the unlocked position, it's going to allow our hitch to slide back so when we make a turn, we don't have to worry about our 5th wheel trailer making contact with our cab. Then when we're ready to straighten back out, the hitch will slide back into the towed position, and we can lock the handle. Now here on our slider on the other side, it's going to show a green indicator letting us know that we're ready to tow. more

Husky Silver Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Review HT31326-31196- Video
Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Husky Silver Series 16K Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider. Its part number is HT31326-31196. Now, to operate the slider portion, we'll have that right here, and what we'll do here is lift up on our lever. As we do it, it's going to rotate our locking plate up and out of the way, and then that allows us to slide that back, reengage the lever there. Then, we can lock it in that position for a maneuvering position. Now, this delivers 10" of travel, so that's going to get the front of our camper 10" further away from the rear of our vehicle. It's going to make it nice at the low speeds only when we're trying to maneuver into our parking spaces, maybe camp sites and things like that. more
