etrailer Blue Ox Base Plate SD Non-Binding Tow Bar Installation - 2021 Subaru Crosstrek- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the etrailer SD tow bar for Blue Ox base plates on a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek. Now they're five required components when flat towing a vehicle. And the first one, starting on the vehicle side, is going to be the base plate, and the base plate attaches to the frame of the vehicle, and that's gonna allow for all your connection points for your other components. Now, going along with that, you see our tow bar here is actually attached to that base plate, and that's gonna make that connection between the vehicle and the RV. Next, you have your safety chains, and that's gonna attach to the loops on your base plate, and also to the side of the camper. That way, if they do become disconnected for whatever reason these chains are gonna hold this in place. more

Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar here on our 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. So a tow bar is just one of the many things that we need in order to tow our vehicle. In addition to that, we're gonna need a base plate kit, safety cables, however, the Alpha 2 actually comes with its own safety cables, so you don't have to worry about buying those separately. We're also gonna need some sort of lighting system to control the lights on the vehicle, as well as a braking system. So for starters here, the Alpha 2 is gonna be rated at 6,500 pounds, which is gonna be more than enough for our Equinox here. more

Now this tow bar is designed to work with Roadmaster base plates and so it has this design for hookup. Now you can actually get different plates for a different base plate, so if you have a Blue Ox or something along those lines, you can still use this tow bar and attach to those. In fact, you can actually get this model with Blue Ox ends if you have a Blue Ox base plate on your vehicle, so you can still attach and you're not limited. When flat towing a vehicle, there's five main components that are required and we're gonna start with the base plate. And the base plate is attached to the vehicle, to the frame and that's gonna have our arms as well as all of our hookup points for the rest of our connections, so that's the main thing you're gonna need on your vehicle. more

etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar Installation - 2021 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Hey everybody, how's it goin' Today, we're gonna to be going over and showing you how to install the etrailer SD Tow Bar here on a 2021 Jeep Cherokee. A tow bar is gonna be the physical connection between the trailer hitch on the motor home and the base plate kit here on the towed vehicle. So it's gonna be one of the several other components that we need to successfully flat to our vehicle, including a base plate kit. A lot of the tow bars such as this one come with the safety cables, therefore we don't need to purchase that separately. We're also gonna need a supplemental braking system in most states and a wiring harness to transmit the signals. The SD Tow Bar is rated for 6,000 pounds, which is gonna be more than enough for the Cherokee here, you shouldn't ever have to worry about exceeding that. more

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Non-Binding Tow Bar. This is going to provide the connection between the hitch on your motorhome and the base plate on the front of your vehicle, so that you can safely and securely tow your vehicle behind your motorhome. This is going to slide right into your two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver on your RV, it is held in place with the standard 5/8 inch diameter pin and clip. This pin and clip could be switched out for a locking pin if you wanna add a little extra security, make sure that your Falcon is gonna stay on your motorhome's hitch, we do have lots of options for those locking pins available here at etrailer.com. But this tow bar does have a weight capacity of 6,000 pounds, so it is gonna be great for towing your cars, Jeeps, SUV's, and mid-size trucks, so if you have any of those options, this is gonna do a great job for you. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Roadmaster All-Terrain Tow Bar, here on a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. So this is what our tow bar looks like hooked up to our vehicle here. Now, if we turn our attention to the connections to the vehicle side, we get a lot of people that are confused about this. So this particular tow bar here comes with a crossbar. It's essentially just a guide between these two sides of the arm. So this actually does come with the kit, but the reason we don't have it hooked up is because we're using this tow bar with the direct connect base plate arms that Roadmaster offers. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Ford Ranger, we're gonna be checking out the Roadmaster Falcon All-Terrain tow bar. So before we get too carried away checking out the tow bar itself, I figured it'd be useful just to kinda touch base and refresh yourselves on the five main components that we're gonna need to flat tow our Ranger down the road in the first place. First one's gonna be your base plate, and what that's gonna do is provide us with a solid and reliable connection point. That way, we can up your tow bar up to it.
