Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with R20 Slider and Rails Review- Video
Today we'll be having a look at the Curt Q20 Fifth Wheel Hitch, and Curt R20 Slider rails, and the bed rails to install it all with, part number C16636. This kit is designed for trucks with shorter than an 8 foot bed. The R20 Slider gives us the ability to have our fifth wheel hitch move further to the back so we can maneuver easier. To do that, just pull back on this handle, and then you can pull your truck forward, and it slides very easily to help you make into a maneuvering position. Once you're ready to actually drive you're trailer down the road, just apply your trailer brakes, put on your brake controller, put your truck in reverse, and back up until it comes back, and locks in position. The R20 Slider's most often used on trucks with 6 foot and 6 and a half foot beds. This roller helps eliminate clearance problems during slow speed turns. We are telling a fifth wheel trailer your hitch must be situated on a cab side of your truck's rear axle. However at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide a fifth wheel hitch and a trailer toward your truck tailgate, and pass the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less restricted turning. This combination has a 20,000 lb max gross trailer rate rating and 5,000 lb max vertical load limit. The two-jaw locking system provides 360 degree jaw to king pin contact. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, part number BWRVK3500-5W. This 5th wheel companion is going to be great for hooking up any 5th wheel trailers that you may have, but also if you have gooseneck trailers, it works great because this goes into gooseneck rails that you can use the gooseneck ball with. What's really nice about this 5th wheel companion is that you can completely remove it from the bed, so when you take it out, you've got a full bed access and there are no cross rails left behind. It features a dual jaw design. It's going to give you 360 degrees of coverage around your king pin. Unlike slide bar jaws, the rounded 2 piece jaw in this 5th wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hook up and a safer quieter ride. Today we're going to take a look at the Curt E16 5th wheel trailer hitch for the Chevy and GMC towing prep packages. Has a slide bar jaw design and a 16,000 pound weight capacity. Now this is a custom fit part, it does comes with these custom legs that are designed to fit the Chevrolet and GMC trucks that have the factory installed towing prep packaging starting in 2016. This hitch head features an auto locking slide bar jaw mechanism to provide superior security, has a rear tension bar right back there that'll work this this slide bar to help clamp around your king pin, to help minimize your rattle and your movement. The head is a dual pivoting head, has a 10 degree lateral movement for nice simple hook up. The head does use permalube pivot pushing to increase the hitch life and reduce maintenance. The other nice thing, if you see these pins and clips right here, these two pins, if you remove the clips and the two pins, that'll allow you to take out the head from the cross member and it makes it easy for one person to remove the complete hitch from the truck bed. The skid plate is an anti-rattle skid plate, provides a nice smooth quiet ride. more

The only exception is, we went ahead and took the legs and bolted them onto them onto the main assembly with the hardware that is included. Here on top, we have our lube plate that comes with the hitch, and that is just to hold it. So let's just go ahead and take the lube plate off. As we open it up, we'll notice a two jaw design, meaning both sides of this will close around our king pin. more

Today we're going to review part number BM6076P-21K. This is the Demco hijacker premier series 21,000 pound double-pivot 5th-wheel hitch. Now this 5th-wheel hitch is designed to mount in your truck bed so that you can tow your 5th-wheel trailer. It uses this double-pivot head meaning it goes front to back. It also moves side to side. That's a little bit harder to show just because it does require some weight on the hitch head so the side-to-side movement you would be able to see but because of this double-pivot head, it does make coupling and coupling of your trailer very easy. more

Today we are going to review part number DM6076P-UL-16K. This is the Demco Hijacker Premier series: 16,000 pound, double pivot, ultra slide, fifth wheel hitch. This fifth wheel hitch is designed to mount in your truck bed so that you can tow your fifth wheel trailer. It has the built in slider right here, and this will provide your clearance required for your short bed truck to turn safely at slow speeds. It does use a double pivot head. The double pivot means it goes front to back and side to side, and makes coupling and uncoupling very easy. To show you the side to side movement is hard to do because it does require weight to be on the hitch head, and then you can see it would move side to side. It does have the polyurethane bumpers underneath the hitch head here. more

Reese 5th Wheel Under Bed Rail Kit Installation - 2015 Ford F-250- Video
Today on our 2015 Ford F250 Super Duty we will be installing the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches, part number RP30126. To get our vehicle ready for installation we're going to go ahead and lower the spare tire and remove the rear wheels and tires. Take a flat blade screwdriver, or we have a brake spoon, just get it under here beneath the cap, just pop it loose. You can set it aside. Now I'll go ahead and remove the spare tire. Now our 2015 F250 is set up for this puck style system. You see there's dimples in the bed right here that are locations for the holes that we will be drilling. more

Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Review- Video
Today we're going to take a look at the Reese Elite series pre-assembled trailer hitch with wiring harness rated at eighteen thousand pounds. Part number RP30142. The custom under-bed rail kit is sold separately for this application. Now this particular fifth wheel hitch does have a gross towing weight of eighteen thousand pounds, but it is limited to your rail kit and your vehicle, so go ahead and check both of those. You're going to go ahead and go with the lowest weight that is recommended. The Reese Elite Series Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch is fully assembled when it comes out of the box. All you have to do it put the head on and put your pins and clips in, so it saves hours of assembly. Now this fifth-wheel hitch, hitches 00:00:41 a nice one-piece Ford steel locking jaw so when you pull your fifth wheel camper, it's going to be nice and secure here in the jaw. more

Fifth Wheel Hitch Installation - 2015 Ram 3500- Video
Today on our 2015 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty Crew Cab we're going to be installing the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package vehicles, rated for 25,000 pounds, part number BWRVK3600. There's a handle on each side that has the black rubber piece on it. As you lift up, that's what releases it so that when you set it down on, it catches and locks it in place. You'll then need to take the pin, go back through, put your clip in. You need to do that for both sides. Now the head can pivot forward and backwards. Now that we have the head attached, to release the jaws so that you can hook up your camper or trailer, you remove the pin. more

Now, for demonstration purposes, I have this mounted on some base rails just to give you an idea of how this would install on your truck bed. Now, this is a 2-Jaw locking system right up there which will provide 360-degrees jaw-to-king-pin contact. That will give you less rattle, more security than some of the slide-bar models. The head on this is a unique spherical axial bearing which allows easy pivoting of the hitch head. more
